Chapter 22

“We spoke to Nathaniel and he won’t accept our money and agree not to go to the police” Nic filled us in on the conversation over lunch. We sat inside an empty theater classroom, presently everyone from yesterday except for Rye and Geralt. The tension ease a bit between Camila and Rebecca but they still kept their distance.

“What’s the catch? What does he want in return?” Rebecca asked with arms folded over her chest.

“Uh nothing. He said that he will let it slide this time” I felt uneasy about having Nathaniel magically forgive us. I don’t like the sound of that.

“I know, I also find it odd especially after the scene he caused. Maybe he got scared after that knocked out punch” we all laughed at Nic’s comment.

“Rye had him seeing birds,” Dee said and we laughed even more.

“Okay so it’s settled, we do nothing for now. I’m going head out” Camila got up and walked out of the classroom. Ever since yesterday, she’s been avoiding me and I had a feeling it was because of Rebecca.
