Chapter 23

“Jaye, hello you there?” Camila called my name. I blinked once processing Jaye’s memories.

“Y-yes” I weakly croaked, clearing my dry throat. “Camila, lately I haven’t been myself or the best friend to you”

“I remembered something from the past, now I understand this whole time you were trying to protect me from getting hurt again by Rebecca. You’re right, she can’t be trusted. This is why I decided to stop being… friends with her” I said harshly. My heart ached because I actually was fond of Rebecca as friends. During the short time I've known her, she showed me kindness, honesty and sincerity. It’s true that in the past she acted terribly; maybe it wasn’t her intention to abandon Jaye but she did apologize to me. However, this was not the main reason for this decision. Along with her friendship came many baggage such as dealing with jealousy from people. Without a doubt, Rebecca and I belong to two different worlds and it’s best to stay that way.
