The Heart Transplant 

“Good morning Hoffitown High staff and students. Seniors, We are excited to announce the Annual Spring Ball is approaching and sign up to participate in the King and Queen competition that will currently open in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!” 


Camila and Daniel announce over the loudspeaker. Students rushed into their phone to sign up online for the opening positions. I’m currently in the library finishing an assignment trying to ignore the chaos unfolding. I needed to work twice as hard now that Rebecca will not be my tutor. Just as I was about to hit the submit button, the internet crashed. 


“Ohh did your application for Queen not get processed?” A concerned girl sitting across from me asked. 


“What. no. the internet crashed and I couldn’t submit my assignment.” I rolled my eyes at how crazy people were going over this ‘beauty pageant’.
