As soon as I left from the door, I was back in the maze. The surroundings looked much more different. The walls, the floor, it was all white. I kept walking a straight path until I arrived to where I have to change direction. As I was walking, the words of Therion stuck into my head. I have to retrieve his sword from a place called Avalon. He also said about me inheriting a skill that works when I'm near death. I think it's when my body moved on its own, that's probably the skill that he was talking about kicking in.
The path stops with two directions. I take the right side and it leads to a clearing in the maze. I enter the clearing. The clearing is a quadrilateral shaped room with paths at each side. The moment I entered the clearing, a wall appears blocking each path. Three other people appear from each entrance. They look human, but I highly doubt it. In the middle of the clearing, a platform appears, and there would be a chest on the platform. A shadow begins to form on the chest, and I look upwards. I see a weird circular object descending, as it reaches above the chest. It spreads open. I don't know what this thing is called, but this creature is made out of an eye with wings feathered wings sprouting from the eye. The eye had a white aura surrounding him.
"Greetings, challengers of the Celestial Maze. Welcome to the final phase. Now for this phase, you simply have to reach to the chest first" the winged eye speaks to us through telepathy
The platform of the chest begins to rise, and forms a giant golem with the chest and the platform looking like a decorative hat for it.
"Whoever gets to the chest and opens it first may obtain everything it contains. But to get to the chest, you must first defeat the guardian of the treasure. The golem. You four may either team up against this or not, but one thing stands clear. Only one of you may prevail. Time may seem to be running short on one of us not all of us have come here willingly" the eye says
Everyone else looks at me, and I look at myself. I can see myself faintly glowing gold. This must means, 10 minutes is almost up in the human realm. Well, with little time left. I'm gonna have to beat this golem, and everyone else here. Just by looking at them, they seemed to have come here well prepared. There's one female and two men. The girl is wearing dark purple robes with a mask on, but revealing her long hair. Most likely someone who is gifted with magic. One man is wearing a ripped shirt, and ripped pants, he probably is a berserker who fights with his bare hands. If that's the case, I should be able to handle him alone pretty easily. The other guy seems pretty normal. Holding a that Halberd, he probably doesn't use magic and relies on keeping distance. If I can close in on him, I should be able to take him out easily. The girl would be my problem as she can cast magic. I should prioritize her when the opportunity begins to show itself. Strike her down whenever possible.
I take out my last dagger. The others looks at me and all looked pumped up for this fight. After meeting my parent, I think I should be doing pretty alright. I look up to the sky and see Gottlich sitting on top of the walls. He gives me a thumbs up. I smile at him.
"Well it seems everyone is ready, you may begin" the eye says
The golem rushes towards the girl first. It seems this golem is pretty smart going for the magic caster. I look at the other two seeing if they're going to team up or fight against each other. The man with the ripped clothing run towards the golem and the girl throws sand into the air creating a wall of sand. The giant golem swats the sand away, and the girl is gone. I felt a presence behind me, and I look back. It was the girl. I step back away immediately with my dagger ready in case she throws anything at me. She walks towards me slowly, and I stood still waiting to counterattack. She holds the hilt of my dagger and my dagger glows. It seems like we'll be working together. I look at the guy with the Halberd and the same girl who made my dagger glow was there also making his halberd glow. Our weapons are now powered up.
The guy with the ripped clothing makes it near the golem, and the golem uses its enormous hands to try and smash him. The man catches the smash with both of his hands. While under it, he was making a stand not getting crushed. It seemed like his body was growing to fit his over sized ripped clothing. He transforms into something like a bear standing. Blocking the hands of the golem with its arms. The mage girl gets pebbles in her pouch, and they begin to float upwards. With magic, they rush towards the golem at high speeds, my eyes couldn't keep up with the pebbles. They were hitting the face of the golem, so it lets one arm out to block the pebble attack from the mage.
I ran around trying to come up with an idea. With just the dagger, I can't do much against this golem made out of stones. Because of my gold faint glow, I got the attention of the golem. As I ran, it fixated it's gaze at me. It's reach is pretty wide. From where it is, I can get attacked. It lets one arm out, and goes for an attack towards me. I stood still and saw something weird. The golem was made out of mossy stones with some parts of it's body glowing blue. On this shoulder, it looks like that's the part that seems to be much more open compared to the other parts. Like some sort of opening hole.
The guy with the halberd ran up to me. Then kicked me. I hadn't realized it, but because of my staring. I didn't see the attack coming. The guy with the halberd was able to use my body as a boost when he kicked, dodging the smash from the golem. He glances at me looking irritated. He grows an aura around him, and the aura forms gray wings. He jumps high and thrusts his halberd into the hand of the golem. I could feel my boots of speed ready, so I tested my luck and activated it. Thank god it worked. I moved so quickly right onto the hand, passing the guy with the wings aura, and ran up to it's shoulder where I saw the opening spot. I look behind the the golem, and the bear guy is climbing his way up thrusting his claws deep into the body of the golem as to not fall from the moss on it. A beam hits the shoulder of the golem and opens the gap wider. The mage girl shot it using magic, and a gem gets embedded into the shoulder of the golem. The gem was still glowing, and it seems like the defensive power of the golem made it stop it's movements. With my dagger, I thrust the gem in causing myself to fall. The gem goes deep, and passed through the shoulder leaving the body from the other side. The arm falls off and the golem uses his other arm to try and swat me while I was mid air. Another attack of pebbles were shot at the golem's face. It used it's last arm to try and defend himself. From the opening made when the shoulder fell off, the core of the golem was seen there.
Falling 90ft down, I embraced myself for impact. My chances of surviving this fall is pretty low, but I tried to survive. I was still beside the golem while falling, so I used my dagger and stab the golem, trying to slow my fall hoping that my dagger gets embedded on the golem. I fell slowly, but the moss around the body didn't let my dagger stay still on the golem. I use my other hand to try to thrust the dagger deeper in, and before I reached the waist, it finally got stuck. I was hanging on it's chest with the dagger I held on.
After the pebble attack, it uses it's hand to try and slam me into it's chest. I saw it coming. Before the hand could hit me. A boulder protected me, giving me a slight gap. I looked down and saw that the halberd guy used the part of the golem's fallen shoulder to try and block the attack. This golem is pretty sturdy that it couldn't break a part of its own. The gap I had wasn't that wide. So I placed my feet on the side, and jumped from wall to wall. I got my dagger out before I started jumping. My glow became brighter, my time here must be really short now. So I used the most I could and went even faster to reach the face.
Thinking I could teleport the chest with me, I gave it a shot. Though not sure if it's possible I still tried. The others seemed to know what I was up to, and the mage girl began shooting pebbles at me. I know I couldn't dodge them, but my body moved on it's own somehow dodging them. This skill from my parent is really nice to have. I still get attacked from the pebbles as I couldn't fully dodge them, but the wounds weren't fatal. The guy with the halberd went under the golem's legs and jumped high going for an attack on his legs. With it's enhanced halberd, it was able to cut a part of the golem's legs causing it to lose balance. I still held on and made it to the platform. The bear guy also made it up t he same time I did, but was faster and stronger so he was able to get up on the platform.
This is my one opportunity to get this treasure, and I won't let it go to waste. I quickly climbed up to the platform, still getting scraped from the pebbles. The bear guy couldn't dodge the pebbles so he took some hits from it. He didn't flinch, so his defensive power must be strong. I got up and he was right in front ready to throw in a punch with his bear arms. I was fast enough to crouch and dodge the punch, and because of the speed the boots of speed gave me. I slid under the body of the bear and he turned around to try and attack me. I threw my enhanced dagger at him, hitting it's chest. I started glowing gold brighter. I made it to the chest and placed my hand on it, and disappeared.
