Surprise.

Melissa;

Whoever claims that Abaddon is a place for beauty, they were truly wrong--I've been in this shit hole for more than the years than I can remember. And the only beautiful things that I can list to ever happen to me was meeting my companion in life and him, giving me the most precious gift-Minette.

Things around her were never easy, she's different in a way you can see how her name truly stands for her. She's her definition of beauty, but, at some point now that she's been around those heads full of nothing but being on the top, I've noticed the changes in her. She's no longer holding back, and that's what I'm scared of. But I knew, being weird or different, even the changes didn't start when she had chosen to be Miller in front of the others, it started when--“Mother! Where are you? ”

I heard her shout from downstairs. We live in a pretty decent place where everything we need was sustained, it wasn't the original one but it is plausible. Upon the system finding out how my companion in life was an ally, they've ruined everything. Our life, our family, our home, but there's one thing they've failed to wrecked, Minette.

I never wish for them to know who she is, or where her roots had come from. Not even a word about his father when she's nowhere within my reach, “What is it? ” descending to see what she's up to, I saw her sitting in our old-looking yet comfy cushions.

“I have to tell you something. ” her voice struck with nothing but excitement, despite the lack of emotions shown within her. It was as if after a long chase for her dreams, one of them finally came true. Like a child who had earned her very first sweets--something, Minette had never tasted. That such things don't exist in Abaddon.

“Tell me about it. ” I nonchalantly reply, not realizing how her answers would strike more than nerves into me. “G'neration exists. ” with those short words coming from her, I've found myself breathless. Drowning, into my thoughts of what if's.

I've always known, but I had to pretend I didn't. For one reason, to keep Minette. “Mother, are you alright? ” she asks, worried. But she had received none from me as my soul has left my body from the very little information she had classified. Now, all I knew was how my stares of doubt had probably imprinted themselves into her mind. Making her wary and most likely causing her to question her words and existence by then.

With one last shrug on whether I'll answer her or not, she stood, said her leaving remarks as she's once again off with her journey--not as my daughter, but as someone who knew that making a move means creating a difference.

Darkness, that's all that there is. Chasing wild cards, crying out loud for something that will never cease.

Pain, pain is all it takes for blood to be shed. “From this day onwards, you're neither his nor mine. You're yours and nothing else. ”

Cries of the phantom, tears of cloy. None head the shots of displeasure, except those who had learned to endure the exposure, “Where did you come from? ” struck of lighting, endless breathes of who's lives were fighting.

“Bitterness, that's where we are from. ” a laugh of tiredness, one who wants nothing but protection and is seeking survival. “How come you knew? ” another, and another, until the voices of wrath were gone, until what's left was none.

“I always knew. ” night sky gets dimmer, and just with that, another journey was written. One that held power and secrets that none will find out until the other was bitten.

“She must've been tired. ” with a smile, strong foundations wrapped around one another. “She's beautiful. Both of them are. ”

“And so are you, Leah. ” red cape, white cape, a little case of familiar faces. She who always knew the beauty that surrounds every strong defender, she who always knew.

“Stop fluttering my pumping heart, Althea.” wrapped around her arms a crying child whose soul she'll meet in the future as a present. Minette, that was her name. And as beautiful as the people who had cradled her Mother's cry in the whisper of the cold night, she beautifully survived.

“Mother, can I ask you something?” Minette asked, troubling my line of thoughts. Memories, that is what it is.

Day by day, years by years, ones that can never be forgotten. “Yes, Mi Amore. ” I replied, checking on her, elegant chopping of the food I had brought from my work continues.

“Why did you react that way? ” I choked into thick air. Millions of reasonings, thousands of how, what if's, and don'ts. Silence, that is all that I can give.“Mother?” I guess all I can say was I'm sorry. I'm sorry if I will not tell you why, maybe, when the time comes but not now.

“Because just like you I've always dreamed of meeting them. ”

The quick motion of chopping stopped, high pitch ringing echoes throughout my ears, “You should've told me, Mother!!” a breathtaking force engulfed me, “I can introduce you to them, join me tomorrow.” like a child holding her favorite toy, Minette smiled.

Genuinity, that what it is.“We will see, I still have my duties.” it was gone, the formerly beautiful sight was quickly changed into solemn muscle contractions, “If I can't come tomorrow, then, you can introduce them to me overmorrow. Okay?” instead of answers, silent nods were given yet it was enough, enough to ease my rapidly beating heart.

“Now, will you please smile again? You're much more beautiful when you smile.” and she did, once again I was reminded of how beautiful Abaddon can be. If only flowers bloomed into this wrath of a place, then, I could've written her name as one of the most unique of them all.

If only, Abaddon was a place for beauty...then maybe-- “Mother, thousands of beats from mine to yours.” the word of love could've been said easier. “Thousands of beats and the beauty of the shining night light to you too, Mi Amore.”

I love you, and I am willingly sacrificing everything to protect you. And I know, they would too. My defender, our strong defender.
