Leah;
Lies, that's what Abaddon is a place full of secrets and undying lies. One can be wrong and the other might tell, no Ava or Don is spared.
“What are you thinking about? ” Aletheia walks in, with her glory shown throughout the whole confined space we're in. Aletheia and I had been together for more than 100 Earth years, surprise? We were too.
It all started when we were 23, living it all, chasing each other's love out. And then, life's joke happened. The fear we had bound expected had sought for us sooner. Fuming flames, we were taken from each other. Upon the bright moon of Earth, we decided to escape, with no plan ahead we were chased. Two against one, none wins. An accident happened, causing the car I was driving to flew out of the road we're trailing in.
Flashing lights, night siren, all the thoughts of being alive forgotten. I woke up, with no memories of how we've both gotten into the mess of Abaddon. But one thing was sure, I was in an unfamiliar place with the person I had bound to love and protect with all my might.
“Us, I am reminiscing about us.” I answered, shining upon the night stars in Abaddon I stared at her. It was as always, a never-ending beauty I did not mean to steal.
Aletheia smiled, “Which one?” wondering where my mind had long taken me. She then hugs me, with all the warmth of her bareness. And I pray that none of the members will abruptly seek for us-- most especially, Umnia.
But, as you always speak of what you never meant to wish for, it'll come to you sooner than expected. Doors creak wide open, revealing none other than Umnia, “Mother, the others had been wondering-” she paused, intently look at the picture of warmth before she let out a loud shriek along with the words of horror. “ What in the world of Abaddon is happening!?” which I know wasn't supposed to be funny, but it was. Her face was as pale as the clothing she was in, and her lips, as discolored as the world we're in.
“Amore, your reactions are priceless. It was as if you've never seen me naked. ” Aletheia stated, which once again ignites Umnia's features.
Beautiful.
“Mother, please watch your words-- and I did not. ” Umnia shyly uttered, covering her face as a defense mechanism.
If only, they could see how vulnerable you can be.
“You did when you were younger. You cling to her like a Koala, real tight that she had to change her clothing with you watching. ” I chimed in, causing her to groan even more.
You've had captured her, the moment you came out with blood gushing all over your body, which wasn't yours but rather from the Ava who had given birth to you. Your Bloodstream, the reason why you're here.
“You did not need to enclose such pieces of information, Mothers?!”
Nighttime, that's how you came into our lives. Year 85, the very year G'neration doors were opened. It was a blur, that all Aletheia knew was she wanted to keep the Ava and you-- who she was baring safe.
“But it was the truth.” I teasingly argues, and that did it. She took her hands off her face, straightened herself, and was about to fight me back when her other Mother butt in. “No blood will be shed tonight, enough with your bickerings.”
Blood, that's what it takes. For you to be with us, for you to stay. I always kept in my mind, that you're not ours to keep but that doesn't mean we're willingly gonna let you go without us, you, fighting for one another.
“If I can't shed just a teeny tiny bit of her blood, then why am I training her for all these years?” I nag, as I watch Umnia's back slowly disappear. The moment she was told to stop, she bid her farewells for the night.
“Stop feeding her with that, look at her. She's turning into a solid wall, we don't want her to be completely like that, do we?” Aletheia scolded, and like a small puppy getting told off, I whimpered.
“I somehow do, with the thoughts of us getting back to Earth with her.” I uttered, not even knowing the consequences of my words. I zoned out, with a sigh.
“But, among us. It was you who knew that we can't.”
We can, with the help of luck and miracle.
“Abaddon sucks.” I sighed.
-
“Umnia, you better keep your posture.” I scolded for the ninth time, as Umnia's sword-fighting figure is out of line today. It wasn't a first, but every time it happened, it was a surprise and with a reason only her Mother can know, by that, it's not me but Aletheia.
85', sufferings of luck.
“Leah, what if it was because she's overworked already, hmm? ” that hmm, it was powerful despite the silence it gives. I wonder where I've gotten the luck to steal such precious hearts.
“Daughter?” Minette blurted out, shocked. Was it new to her? I thought she already knew...weird.
Yes, Minette was there training along with all the other members. I only do personal training with Umnia when it was needed, when she's needed. As a part of G'neration undergoing such pieces of training was a day-to-day dose. I never let any of them be defenseless when the time calls, I don't want them to lose without gaining what they deserve, dignity.
“I admit, your words were a first. Every new member was already aware before we can discuss such information with them. Guess, you've scared Nova that she had sealed her lips on you.” Aletheia answered the open question Minette had given us. And she was right, Nova was the information giver. She never let any of the members be out of guidance when it comes to important information, except, Minette.
“Nova...” I called out, and as a way in the sea created by Moses, the members parted creating a path for me to trail in order to reach the destined star, Nova.
“Mother, Nova was traumatized. You shouldn't expect a cub to walk over a Bear's trap with the culprit being present. ”
“Your Mother knew that, Umi. Let her finish her words.” Aletheia shushed, making Umnia shiver in silence, and from what I know, the other members too.
Aletheia, unlike me, was the silent leader. She was an alpha in disguise, guiding every member in hidden sight. And that's what the others had failed to notice, which I was always grateful for. Aletheia being out of the picture in the sight of the seekers will make it easy to hide her existence when the time comes. G'neration needs her, more than they need me.
She was the true leader among us.
“I want you to hand your tasks to Umnia, as she's aware of the situation and from what it looks like... she's fond of Minette.”
“Pardon?” Bou shouted, making everyone gasps in surprise. Well, would you look at that. Despite my daughter's way of living her life, someone's still taking hidden glances and observations, a very deep one.
“Any objections, Bou?”
“I was just surprised, uh, there's a lot of members that are very well informed and are much more hands-free than Umnia. I think it's better to let others take the position rather than your Daughter, Lady Erös.” she explained, more like defended as she was anxious about her surroundings with her hands' fidgets nonstop despite her trying to hide it.
“And with that, you conclude who?” Aletheia asks brows raise upward. Here comes the nosy mama, tsk.
“Myself, uh, I do nominate myself. Uh no, I volunteer!” she answered, sweats from her nervousness dripping soaking her clothing.
Rule #67: Anyone is allowed to wear whatever clothing they want, the clothing in your personal space varies from Earth, Ava, and Don's. In condition to the clause, the said rule will only be applied if anyone is within the G'neration perimeters and should vow to always hide from the sight of the seekers.
That was one of the written clauses, a clause created to protect everyone. Especially, them.
“If so, why don't you give her a chance, Leah?” Aletheia says as she took off the long white cape draping over her shoulders.
“Why are you taking it off?” I asked, curious. Of all the possible time, why now?
“You should know why, Leah.” she was right, Aletheia was right all along. I had my guest, but it was sudden. So, sudden.
“Everyone, we're getting a code white. And I want all of you to be ready, especially, you-- Don Dufort.” I announced, making everyone disperse with no questions. Except, Minette who among the others doesn't have the clue on where she belongs.
Nova indeed had neglected her job. “Umnia and Kibou, being the ones assigned to guide Minette, take her with you.” and they did, all of the members went ahead leaving Aletheia and me alone.
“I know what you did there, Ali.” I uttered, Aletheia purses her lips.
“Are you okay?” I ask.
“After all these years, I'm still scared.”Aletheia sighs.
I look at her, the same look of assurance I always do. Tucked the loosen hairs in her ears, and with one soft smile, “You know that I am too, but, I'm with you.” and with no vocal answers, she hug me, as if to say, I can never do this alone, I love you, never leave me. I gave her a crown kiss, remembering all the years we've been through, all the fight for life and I love you's we had uttered. And now, here we are once again, faced with another warning.
In Abaddon, you don't breathe air but lie. Lies that were created in order to comfort oneself or those who are believing in you. Lies, that is what Abaddon is a place full of nothing but lies. Lies that lie within the precious smiles created by life.
Lies, that's what it is.
