Chapter Fifty six - Sad Memories

Hailey's POV

"Going somewhere special" I said looking at the suit he's wearing.

Nodding, he looks down at his suit, smoothing the front of his jacket, "like?" he asks me

"Yeah, especially what's under it" I smiled, walking off, "oh my God, I didn't mean that" I told him, moving away quickly as he pulls me backwards to his chest, chuckling as he muzzles my neck.

"I'm sorry" I said quietly, as he turns me around, lifting my chin with his finger, he leans down capturing my lips with a deep passionate kiss.

Releasing my lips he moves slightly away, "I know I missed dinner last night and I have two meetings back to back this morning, but this evening is about us" Adian apologizes and promises.

Stretching my arms, upwards, "it's okay, Mrs Harris will be here to help me prepare for the kids tomorrow, so I'll be busy" I tell him. happy that I could runaway to see Allan Smith or uncle Alan, without going into details to Adian.

Pulling me, "let's go eat" he says, leaving my room, walking hand in hand down the stairs with me pulling away before walking into the kitchen.

I felt eyes staring at me and Adana rushing towards me into my arms.

"Hey" I said,

Adian,. puts his arms on her shoulders, "she's hungry, let her eat" Adian tells her.

"Morning" I said to Basil who put a cup of coffee down on the table for me.

I went to the table, confused I turned to Adian, frowning my eyebrows, questioning look.

Shrugging, he sits next to Adana, ruffling her hair, before kissing the top of her head.

Basil put a plate of scramble eggs, bacon and toast in front of Adian and I also giving Adian a cup of coffee.

Looking around the table, "what's going on here? Why is everyone, silently nice?" I asked sipping my coffee.

Frowning, "so I'm not normally nice?" Adana asks.

"Silently Chubbs, the key word is silently" Adian informs her, laughing, digging into his breakfast.

As we all continue to eat in silence, "where were you so late last night?" Adana frowns at Adian, questioning him.

With his head still down on his plate, "our father called, and it was foundation business so I had to run" Adian explains so easily and honestly.

"Did you have dinner?" Adana continued to question him.

Lifting his head he looks at me, then to Adana and I realize that since Adana started speaking to him, I've been staring.

"They ordered their favorite, Chinese" Adian told us, or told Adana, since she's the one asking all the questions.

"Which, I ate, of course" Basil says.

Huffing, "so you didn't eat and then you came home a. ." Adana's voice trails off, as she turns to me. "I'm sorry" she mutters, starting to eat her food again.

Feeling uncomfortable, because of me and they know about my nightmare, that's why they are uncomfortable around me. Me and my mental issues. Me and my family problems.

Why won't the nightmares stop? Why can't I let go?

Standing up abruptly, "I'm sorry. I said, picking up my coffee and walking out of the kitchen."

"You guys realise, that she has a habit if doing that. Right?" I heard Basil asks, then continues, "at least it's not alcohol".

"F**k you man" Adian responds and a chair drags.

I ran quickly up the stairs, in case he follows me, but he didn't.

I heard my door open, looking to see Adana's sorry expression as she walks in. I reached out a hand to her, "come" I invited her to join me in my corner by the floor to ceiling glass window, overlooking the city.

Hugging her to me, "I had a nightmare didn't I?" I asked her softly.

She nods, "I tried, but I didn't know how to help you to stop crying. I was so afraid, Hailey, so afraid" she tells me softly.

"It's okay, I'm sorry to put you through that" I laid my chin in her head.

I have to ask, because I need to know if Adian heard me. Did I speak my dream out loud again?

"How, uh how did I stop crying" I stammer, as my voice quivers.

She raises her head, staring into my eyes, frowning. "Don't you remember?" she asks surprise.

Shaking my head. "I know Adian was there when I woke up this morning but.." I paused for her to help me remember what wasn't in my subconscious.

"AD" she said sitting up, AD and Basil returned around that time and heard me calling your name and they came running into the room. He was so afraid, that he pulled you from me and hugged you, talking softly to make you stop crying."she filled in some blanks but I was afraid to ask for more.

Pulling her closer with one hand, I lifted my now cold coffee with the other, "I need more coffee" I smiled.

Getting up. "I can go get you a cup" she offers.

Standing up to join her, "I'll come with you, I'm still hungry" I chuckle, as we walked out the room.

Walking down the stairs, I see Adian walking down the corridor, looking like a model walking the runway with a jacket thrown loosely over his shoulder.

Whistling softly, he hears, lifting his head wearing a sexy model's smirk, making slower strides towards us.

"Looking good bro. I think you missed your calling" Adana chuckles, turning to me, "what do you think, Hailey?" she asks me.

Shrugging, I walked down the remaining stairs, to enter the kitchen, "don't you think his ego is already large enough?" I said entering the doorway to the kitchen.

What the hell is he still doing here. Gerard would be here soon to take me hunting for uncle Alan so he can help me find my dad.

Adana followed me inside the kitchen, "where's your big brother?" I ask, hoping he's gone.
