Chapter Seventy Eight- Finally She Confess

Adian's POV

I think, I know Mel's reason for hesitating! Her job!

Hailey, touches my leg, "behave" she mouths softly as Bas also await her response.

"Work?" Mel tells Bas hesitantly, before turning to look at me.

"Ah that mother***er you call a boss?" I chuckle. "Don't t worry I'll handle him" I tell her, leaning back, putting an arm around the shoulders of my wife who seemed surprise at my answer.

Putting an arm around her shoulder, Bas pulls her towards him, "now that, that's settled, you're staying" he tells her confidently.

Still looking apprehensive, Bas flicks and eyebrow at her.

"Clothes" she smile shyly.

Stunned, at this beautiful girl sitting beside my best friend, who I just now realized lost her smile, about the same time that I lost mines. How did I not realize this. She came to my office for a job and I simply hired her, even though her husband, my friend owned his own company.

I was so f***ing caught up in my own problem, that I stopped caring about anyone, except my sister and my mom. My mom!

Standing up, I've got to go find her. Turning to Mel,

"The girls have got you covered" I tell her, noticing that my wife is pouring herself another glass of champagne.

"On my count, that's her third glass" Bas informs me, as Hailey just continues to sip her champagne, with a goofy smile on her face.

Leaning down, "no more" I tell her, "I'll be right back" I kissed her, nod to Bas, indicating that I'm heading inside, before walking off.

Now where the f**k is she?

Mrs Bradford met me as I walked in.

"Is everything okay?" she asks anxiously.

Smiling, I nod. "Actually I'm looking for one of the guests. She seem to have disappeared from the party" I tell her, hoping that she knows where my mother walked off to.

Smiling, knowingly, "yes, she on the back patio" she said pointing to another doorway. "Out there".

"Thank you" I said politely, walking outside to hear my mother's excuses.

I walked out on the tile flooring, the heel of my dress shoe, clicking as I walked.

"It took you long enough" my mother said, dryly, in the shadows, to my right.

I walked, to where I heard her voice, to see her sitting on a long wooden chair, with cushion seats and backrest. Her feet stretched out in front of her on another chair and her eyes closed. There were two wine bottles in front of her. No glass, no food.

Hearing footsteps, I turned to see Mrs Bradford with another bottle of wine and a glass with, what looks like a shot of whiskey on a tray.

"Did she eat anything?" I asked Mrs Bradford softly and she shook her head.

Without opening her eyes, she started to speak, "I'm not hungry" she says.

"Bring something for her" I said and motion quietly to Mrs Bradford, who nods and walks away.

"I never wanted her" she started.

Frowning, I pulled a chair opposite her and picked up the bottle of wine and the wine opener before stretching out my long legs in front of me.

Popping the cork, I started drinking from the bottle.

"I ordered whiskey for you" she snickers.

I don't drink open drinks that I don't see poured." I informed mom, who knows that.

Taking another gulp, "who, didn't you want, Chubbs?" I asked with a tinge of anger, that I was trying to control.

"Hailey Sullivan" she spat out, after a few very long minutes of silence.

Shocked, narrowing my eyes, I just wait for her to continue.

Chuckling evilly, "my hands were tied, because if you married anyone else, Hailey would have gotten the entire company" she continues.

Confused, "mom, what the f**k are you talking about" I said angrily.

Laughing humorously, she turned red eyes on me, "oh don't you deny it" she spat, "I told you that your inheritance depended on you marrying her" she lifted herself slightly off the chair raising her voice. Chuckling dryly, she leaned back down, "Don't go making speeches out there about eternal love, because when she leaves you, Kristin will be here waiting for you" she adds.

"Leave me?" is all that was important from what she said, "Why would she do that?" I asked cautiously.

Locking eyes with me, "you deceived her, how can she stay with you when you only married her for the company." mom chuckles.

"I didn't marry her for the company. I married her because of you!" I stood shouting at her.

"Me?" she repeats, mockingly. "You never do anything for anyone but yourself" mom continues.

Shock, as I hear what mother is saying, "who are you really?" I asked, putting the bottle down and staring at the woman in front of me.

"Your mother!" she shouts "and never ask that question again!" she continue to shout.

Thankfully the music in the background, would drown our voices.

"Your job was to marry that crazy girl, get Sullaknights in your name and move on from there." she looks up at me. "Why did you have to give her a ring for the world to see." she asks.

"The world?" I repeated, realizing, Chubbs put the exchanging of rings on Instagram.

"Well it doesn't matter now, Adana will inherit everything, when your wife goes back to the mental hospital, after she finds you with your fiancé" she sighs, sounding bored.

"Like her mother found you with her father" I muttered, loud enough, feeling dizzy, but I didn't miss, seeing the shock on my mother's face.

Chuckling, I knew you won't drink the whiskey" she says. "Sit down before you fall, Kristin will be here soon." she advises me, but I realized her plan to late.

With all my strength and sanity left in me, holding my head, I walked out on my mother and walked straight into the arms of my.. my?
