Chapter Two Hundred and Twenty Eight - Babysitting Adian

Adian was still asleep but yet, I sat on the bed staring at him. His brows knitting together as the migraine confirms that he is still in pain.

Staring like a psycho at his face and his chest to make sure it's heaving.

Thankfully I helped him shower in spite of his reluctance because he would not have been able to sleep comfortably, covered in sweat.

I was surprise when Gerard got a call from Ryan, requesting that we pick Adian up on the way home, but I didn't expect to see him all sweaty, with beads of perspiration dripping down his face, his chiseled chest, buffed, giving him that sexy alluring look, captivating me at once. What worsen it was the slim blonde standing beside him chatting away, to his unresponsive frame, gazing adoringly up at him.

God, if he was actually responding to her, how would I have reacted?

It's embarrassing to admit that I got a little greeneyed when I saw them standing out there, but I trust him and hope jealousy, will never prevail in our relationship.

With my legs crossed pundit style, propping my chin with my hands, I stared steadfastly at him, blinking away the sleepiness as it tries to overtake me.

Ryan wouldn't explain why he needed to run off to the gym and then to come home with a migraine..

Something must have disturbed him at home or the gym, but I have a nagging feeling it's home. Now I'll just have to wait until he awakes to find out.

"Can I come in?"Ryan whispers loudly, from the doorway which was brighter than the light over the bed. I have to keep it dim so Adian's headache won't be aggravated with the light.

Remaining silent, I wave for him to come in because I know he's worried about his son and I also have a nagging feeling it's more than the migraine.

Frowning at the position I sat staring at his son, "it's late, shouldn't you get some sleep?" He suggested softly but I shook my head fiercely.

'No, no" I whispered, "I want to be awake when he awakes." I explained watching him smile then turn his attention to his sleeping son.

Looking back to me, "well at least eat something," he suggested again but I'm unwilling to leave Adian's side.

Averting my eyes from his to Adian's, I shook my head.

"How about this," Ryan moves to the sofa to the side of the room, "I'll stay here to keep an eye on him, until you return." he says softly which makes sense because I am hungry but I still I want to be here.

Still I refused, stubbornly.

Aware Ryan is still sitting behind me, "Adian would be upset when he awakes and finds out, you didn't have dinner." Ryan says, trying to blackmail me.

Not wanting to disturb Adian, I crawled off the bed and walked to where Ryan sat, "okay, if I go for dinner, you have to tell me why Adian got another migraine." I bargained, folding my arm to confirm, my determination.

Smiling in the dimness, "he will tell you when he wakes up," Ryan explains but I will not have any of that, I need to know now!

Sighing reluctantly, "fine, go get your dinner and we will talk," Ryan said in defeat and I ran off with a broad smile all the way to the kitchen.

Not surprisingly, Basil was in the kitchen, "how is he?" Basil asks, his forehead creased with worry lines as is a regular thing these days.

Pointing to the oven, "your dinner's in there and there are extras in there," Basil points to behind him to the refrigerator.

Nodding, I smiled and took out my dinner to heat, tapping my fingertips on the counter as I wait.

"You have any idea what brought on, another migraine?" Basil suddenly asks, my fingertips pausing it's drum beat.

"Uh, no." I lifted my eyes to actually look at him since I came downstairs to find him staring at me with an unreadable expression. Switching the oven off, "that's why I am down here, to eat so that Ryan would tell me what happened." I admitted with a sly grin.

"Hailey, I'm sorry about that loose comment I made concerning," he flicks his head for emphasis and I laugh.

Chuckling, "you've got to admit, I don't always behave as if all my screws are tightened." I admitted, picking up my dinner plate and taking out two bottle waters, I turned back to Basil.

"I need to eat in front of Ryan so if he doesn't tell me what's wrong, I won't eat," I laugh at my plan.

Laughing, "good luck with that, just call me if you need help with anything." Basil offers. Nodding, I moved to the doorway, but turned around, losing my smile,

"Should I be worried about his frequents bouts of migraine?" I asked Basil because I knew he would be honest about his friend's health.

Sipping whatever he has in a mug in front of him, "I am concern," was all he said.

I gave a water to Ryan and then sat down to dig into my dinner.

"How is he?" I turned to look at Adian from where I sat.

Following my gaze, "still the same," Ryan says, his eyes lingering on his son.

He really does love his son!

"So tell me what upset Adian?" I asked more worried than curious.

Chuckling at my boldness, Ryan smiled at me. "Em, I wasn't privy to it, but it had something to do with a call he got from Gerard." Ryan explains with a light shrug as if that is the end of the conversation.

Seriously? I'm eating an entire plate of food for that?

I wait for him to say something more, but Ryan didn't volunteer anything else.

"Is that it?" I frowned as Ryan averts hiseyes.

Shrugging, "that's all I know," he admitted.

"Okay then."
