Chapter Two Hundred and Twenty Nine - Fun Day

Pausing the series I was bingeing on, I stared at the faces staring back at me impatiently.

"What?" I whispered, frowning just with a tinge of irritation.

Adian shook his head, looking away from me to the TV screen. "We've been looking for you," he informed me through gritted teeth.

Confused, "why?" I asked, my frown deepening. "You sent me to rest, so" I point to the screen in front of us, glaring at Basil as he makes himself comfortable in front the TV.

"Oh no you don't" I flick my hands for him to leave. "I'm not going to have you criticizing and yapping through the entire season." Still flicking my hand, "now go!" Lifting my eyes pleadingly at Adian for some help.

Ignoring me, Basil stretches his long frame and settles back in the chair, irritating me more because of how comfortable he appears.

Sitting on the armchair, "I need to make a run, want to join me?" Adian asks smiling seductively.

Torn, I smiled at him then at the television longingly and at Basil's laid back frame but Adian and I haven't been spending time with each other and quality time between is long overdue.

Nodding, I got up but kept ahold of the remote for when we return, from wherever we're heading.

"Seriously?" Basil yells, moving to grab the remote that I pushed down my vest adding to his annoyance.

Looking at Adian, "man that's disgusting," he curls his lips at me in disgust.

Frowning down at my chest, hitting Basil with the back of his hand. "Are you saying my wife's breast is disgusting," it was Adian's turn to look at Basil in disgust.

Basil's eyes automatically returned to my breast, suddenly making me uneasy, when he meets my eyes with a mischievous smirk.

Shrugging, shoving his hands into his pocket, rocking back and forth on his heels.

"Now that you asked," Basil drawls, his eyes returning to my chest, embarrassing me further.

Adian slapped Basil lightly on his stomach , "man don't be gawking at my wife's chest " he jokes but Basil kept his eyes on me.

"Well she's got something inside her vest which interests me." Basil chuckles mischievously, winking at me

Pushing. my hand inside my vest, I pulled the control out, stretching it across to him.

Frowning he didn't take it but with the same mischievous smirk, "that's not want I was talking about," he laughs, laughing louder when Adian joined in.

Glaring at the both of them with the TV remote in hand, I stomped out into the hallway running all the way up the steps, burning up with embarrassment.

Emmy's door was opened so I peered inside to see her dressing while Mel looks on affectionately.

Jealousy stabs me once again when I see how Mel and Emmy's bonding, without me.

"Hey" I greeted them and walked further inside, giving Mel a friendly nod.

With her dress halfway up, "Hailey," Emmy yells in excitement,.running towards me.

I opened my arms wide to receive her, hugging her tightly to my chest.

"Good morning sweetheart," I whispered into her hair.

Drawing away quickly, "is Adian better?" Lifting her eyes that's suddenly filled with concern.

"Yes, I'm fine" Adian drawls from behind me, chuckling when she wriggles out of my clutches, running into his open arms.

Emmy starts giggling as Adian whispers in her ear while walking out the room.

Staring at me from head to toe. "You're going dressed like that?" Mel asks looking at her attire.

Looking amazing with her model legs and height, clad in a black jeans and red T-shirt.

"Where are we going?" I asked curiously since I already agreed to go with Adian on his run.

"Bas is dropping Adian to pick up his vehicle he left at the gym yesterday," she enlightened me.

With my hands on my hips, I huff. "But i was there, he could have allowed me to drive it." I complained, frowning. "Was it the Maserati?" Wondering how I could have allowed that opportunity to pass me by.

"Darn," I muttered, stomping my feet.

Lifting her eyes at the doorway, Mel leans closer, "word of advise, go with that outfit and flirt your way to the keys!" We both laugh, walking out the room.

Adian was trying but failing miserably to tidy Emmy's hair or was it the curls that weren't cooperating with him.

"Here let me," I volunteered joining Adian on the bed to try managing Emmy's unruly curls.

When I am done making Emmy presentable, I stood in front the mirror, brushing my hair and creaming my body to make myself presentable to be worthy of the Maserati.

With a little lip gloss and eyeliner, I was ready to fly.

Adding a black sports bag and black Nike, I'm done.

Adian had already gone back downstairs to meet his father, while I finished dressing Emmy.

Adian and Basil stood in the hallway, both frowning at me, while Mel giggles mischieviously.

"Are you going dressed like that?" Basil scratches the stubble on his cheek.

Staring at my legs before walking closer to Adian, "my husband has no problem with it, why should you?" I huffed, tugging Adian's arm. "Are you ready?" I bat my eyes, my feeble attempt at flirting.

Staring down the length of my legs, Adian grabs Emmy's hand then throws an arm around my shoulder.

"Be good," he says over his shoulder to his father and Mrs. Harris who stood, waving us off.

Turning around I winked at them, "enjoy your day and don't cook, we'll bring lunch." I tell her actually excited to spend the day with Adian and Emmy.

We all piled into the SUV , Basil in the driver's seat and Adian in the passenger.

Other than Emmy's chattering, the vehicle was silent.

"Seriously man," Basil breaks the silence. "Are you really going to let your wife walk around with that hot pants?" Basil complains to my husband, winking at me in the rearview mirror.
