Chapter Two Hundred and Thirty - Discrimination in the Gym?

Basil dropped us at the Gym where we picked Adian up yesterday, after arranging to meet up at a restaurant for lunch.

Adjusting my handbag across my neck, Emmy walked in the middle of Adian and I, holding our hands to lift her in the air every couple of steps, until we entered the foyer of the Gym.

Nodding politely to those we met on our way to the reception desk.

Emmy was of course excited for the outing and the chance of spending the day with Adian and I, which reminded me about the discussion l have pending concerning adopting Emmy.

First, I need to make sure I'm all together up there because my slips into my world or panic attacks could hamper the adoption process but if I fail, then we can ask Basil and Mel to adopt her.

Chuckling at that thought because I will have to marry them first!

And there's Mel's divorce!

Darn! Why's life so complicated? Why is my life so complicated?

The harsh tugging on my arm and the soft whisper drew me out of 'my world'!

"Hailey, that lady talking to Adian?" Emmy whispered, pointing to where Adian stood with the skinny blonde from yesterday.

Seriously?

And she's flirting again this early in the day?

She must be super desperate!

Tightening my hold on Emmy, "let's find out" I muttered, tugging her hand and walking towards Adian.

"Hey!" I greeted my husband and his 'friend' politely, squeezing, Emmy's hand.

"Hello," Emmy politely, greeted Adian's friend'!

From the corner of my eye, I can see Adian turning to look at us, his lips curled into a sexy smirk, drawing me into captivity, once again.

Since my main focus was Adian's 'friend', I'll have to deal with my horniness, later.

Staring me from head to toe with scorn her lips curling upwards in disgust.

"Are you and.." the skinny blonde started speaking then paused to looked down at the girl beside me with the same scornful expression. "Your daughter?" Lifting her eyebrows, continuing to show her disgust at Emmy and I. "Lost?" She continued, pointing to the reception desk, turning her attention back to Adian.

Staring at Adian's mischievous smirk that got wider, I shook my head, drawing her attention back to me.

"No, my daughter aren't lost," I chuckle. "We're waiting for my husband." I retorted politely, frowning when the disrespectable woman looked at Emmy then started looking around the Gym.

Who is she searching for?

Is it because Emmy's biracial she searched the foyer? Pointing to the reception desk once again. "Your husband doesn't seem to be out here, check him." She said before turning away, rudely.

"Him," she stressed, pointing to the clerk at the reception desk again when I didn't move while my husband looked on in amusement!

The nerve of this bitch whose ass, I'm sure I could kick in the boxing ring.

Thankful for Emmy's interruption because I have no idea what words were about to fly out of my mouth but I do know, it would not have been lady like.

Releasing my hand, Emmy moved closer to tug Adian's.

"Daddy?" Her dark eyes soften in sadness because she must have felt the woman's animosity and my building anger.

Ignoring the woman in front of him, Adian bent down to lift Emmy of the ground with a soft smile.

"Sweetheart!" He hugged her, putting her head on his shoulder with pride, while I gave the shocked woman a smug smirk.

"I'm hungry," Emmy whispered and Adian laughed.

"Yes, blame mum for that because she took way too long getting dressed, right?" Adian chuckles, winking while appraising me and my very exposed arms and legs.

"Actually, my metabolism has already used up the cereal and milk." Tiptoeing since I'm on flats, Adian leans down, meeting my upturned lips.

"You're bad," he whispers against my lips.

Still in a playful mood, "and horney," I added, laughing when Adian froze, catching himself a moment later and kisses me again with Emmy cheering on happily.

"We need to eat and put our daughter to bed very early tonight," Adian promises, my body suddenly getting all hot and bothered.

"Nodding eagerly because I just needed to leave this place that the skinny ass woman who was rude and discriminating to my daughter. "Let" I agreed.

Ignoring the woman with Emmy in his arms, Adian approaches the reception to discuss getting his vehicle.

After a few words with the receptionist, Adian returned to where I stood waiting, ready to pass Emmy over to me but she refused to let go, tightening her arms around his neck.

Laughing, "you're coming with us, or waiting here?" He asks, staring at the woman.

Shrugging, "I'll wait," I responded because he must be heading for the lockers.

"I'll be right back with the keys." He left me in the foyer with the woman still standing staring back a me, her eyes filled with hostility.

Shaking my head, I gazed at the charts and pictures on the wall, everything dealing with the perfect body and how to keep it healthy.

Scuffing from where she still stood, "he didn't mention you or.." the woman started speaking then stopped, "your daughter," her tone insulting.

What the hell's her problem with our daughter?

"Our daughter," clenching my fists, I corrected her, my eyes on the receptionist walking along the counter closer to where we stood, four feet apart.

Appraising me once again, "looks more like your daughter," she scuffs.

Frowning I wondered what is up with her and her attitude? Is she one of Adian's exes?

Responding with a fake smile, "thank you" I answered cheerfully, "she's really beautiful," turning my back on her, nodding to the receptionist, I walked to the glass doors leading into the workout area of the gym.

I'm no longer hot and bothered for sex. I'm now seething with anger a skinny ass bitch invoked by discriminating against my biracial daughter.

Unable to contain my anger anymore, I spun around to see the receptionist eyes, still on me.

"Does your gym discriminate against black people working out here?" I asked, shocking him. Pointing to the woman whose now standing opposite him, "or is it just her?" I continued, my anger no where near to subsiding.

Walking towards them, turning to the woman.

"You can say what the hell you want about me, but don't you ever look at my daughter as trash because I'm ready to kick your dry ass!" I threatened her, taking a deep breath, turning to the receptionist who stared nervously behind me.
