Chapter fifteen

I didn't know why I had this feeling but I felt as if this wedding was an indirect pressure to cover up something that only them knew about .

I hated this feeling because it brought a feeling of spite in my body .

"What should I do to enliven your mood babe ?

Follow me !" I turned and I saw him move in the crowd.

I followed him but he was moving faster ,I took off my heels and increased my speed .

Back in high school,I used to be a very good athlete. I had won so many trophies and medals.

I guess it was time for me to use my athletic skills to get hold of him.

"Stop ! I said stop !" I shouted at him .

"What's wrong with you Clinton ?! Why are you playing this drama on me ?! What do you want from me ?! Answer me Clinton!

Don't just stand there and look at me like a dummy!"I walked more closely to him and demanded my answers .

"Are you happy engaged to Hardy ?! I know it doesn't concern me so don't choose to answer if you don't want to !By the way I enjoyed tormenting you earlier tonight!

It was fun ,at least I could see you scared to death.

I enjoyed seeing you helpless! Haha!"Clinton broke into laughter .

"Don't misunderstand the helplessness of a woman for her weakness!

A woman can unleash her wrath on anyone to protect herself so don't underestimate me, Clinton Brown !"I said with confidence looking into his eyes.

"I like this version of you ; bold and courageous!"Clinton said with a shrug .

"It was a mistake coming after you ,you are nothing but a proud and arrogant spoilt rich kid!

I wish to never see your face again!"I spat the ugly truth to his face .

"I'm sorry ,please forgive me! You are right ,I should not have misunderstood your helplessness for your weakness.

You have enervated me!

I know I'm a mess and an enfant terrible person to understand or hang out with.

I guess ,I was wrong to think that you are enfeeble ,instead ,I am !

Do you know why?

Because I thought money was all since I didn't feel loved.

I thought money would replace the absence of love in my life but I was wrong !

Liza,you made me realize who I am and I have come to realize it now .The reason for which I followed you all the way here !"Clinton explained sadly .

"Who are you now Clinton ?!"Liza asked following his story .

"I'm nothing because I'm a mess and nobody loves me !"Clinton said stepping aside with a sniff .

"It's inappropriate to think that of yourself Clinton !

Besides ,you have money and Klara and your dad love you very much.To them ,you are their world!"Liza tried explaining things to him but he

chuckled instead .

"From the outside ,you can enjoy the act but inside my heart bears the pain till eternity!"Clinton said passing his hands into his hair with a sigh.

"What pain Clinton?"Liza asked drawing closer to him .

"Do you want to know ?"

"Yes I want to!"Liza said without hesitating .

It was quite weird that all of a sudden ,I was developing interest in his matters but I felt the urgent need to do so

"Then let's run away Liza!"

" What ! "I exclaimed ."Are you going nuts ?!

My alliance was fixed today and you want me to run away with you?!

A week from today,I will be getting married and so how do you expect me to run away with you ?!

I was trying to understand you ,I was trying to offer you my friendship but I guess i was wrong about you!

You and I can never be on one side of an issue so goodbye !"I angrily began to walk away .

"We are enmeshed in this world! Our opinion doesn't matter to those who claim to love us!

I'm not taking you away from your family .

I'm taking you away from this world into our world!

Where no one will judge us ! Where our opinions will matter and where no one will disturb or encumber us!

I know you want to elude from this world of ours ,so come and let's go into our world!"Clinton shouted to Liza's hearing and so she had no other choice but return and give him a piece of her mind one more time .

"I don't believe you !"She said looking directly into his almond eyes .

"Well ! You will have to because I don't know how to make you elucidate what I'm saying!

Come along !"His words were convincing so I decided to go with him. I wanted to run away from everyone and everything so I followed Clinton. After a while ,we were at a cottage in the middle of a garden .

"What is this place Clinton ?"I asked admiring the paradise that the place looked like .

"Doesn't it look like an elysian ?!"He asked with a broad smile on his face .His killer smile was worth impregnating .

"Yes it does !"I answered ambivalently with a smile across my face . I guessed the place was really elusive!

"Come with me !"He held my hands as we both walked through the place .There were lots of elms around and I wondered why he would take rest in a jungle like this; well ,what he'd call a simple garden !

We reached a small cottage inside the jungle .

It was along a river and the cool air kept me cold.

He quickly wrapped his jacket around me so that I'd catch warmth .

The cottage was complete,it didn't lack anything .

"I know you have so many questions in mind that you want to ask. For instance ,why come to a jungle to find peace when you live a luxurious life outside this jungle ,am I right Liza?"Clinton asked handing me some berries .

"Yes,you are!"I said eating the berries .For the first time in my life ,I didn't feel remorse for outing with a stranger .

It felt like we knew each other strongly than we both thought we knew !

"It all started here ,right here when I was six years old.

I ran away from home to find peace at a place where nobody would think of finding me.

I came here to find solutions to my problems and fears.

I was a young boy who felt the absence of a mother's love from birth.

My mum has been stuck on a bed lifeless for about two decades but yet ,still not rotten!"Clinton began to tell his story .

"What ! "I exclaimed on top of my voice. Who dies without getting rotten and that too,over twenty years,huh?

I stood still in shock as I almost got scared to death. Was it supernatural or what? I asked myself standing still ,and astonished by what ever that was happening.

"I'm sorry ,I didn't mean to scare you this way !" He said apologetically ." I just needed someone to talk to ; someone who would understand and share my burdens with me!"Clinton added .

"But why me Clinton ?!"I asked quavering .

Everything was just so difficult to believe ; it was mind blowing .

"Because you are the very first person who told me what I truly am!

You threw my arrogance and pride to my face without fear!

You were the first lady who made me feel the pain of remorse!

You were the same one who had courage to confront me and my actions .

I hate to admit this but your words made me shed tears !"Clinton added almost pushing Liza to spit out the berries in her mouth .

"What ! You cried ? Oh my God ! This is so hilarious !

Haha ! I can't believe my eyes ,Clinton !

I really can't ..hehe !"Liza broke into unstoppable laughter and Clinton enjoyed the fact that she was happy now .

"Yes I did cry ! A few tears wouldn't kill a man after all !

You made me feel as if I had committed the worst mistake of my life.

I was suffocated ,I needed someone to listen and that's why I came to you .

I don't know much about you but I feel as if I can trust you with my secrets and pain!

Everything I'm saying now might seem awkward and impossible but I can assure you that I'm telling you the truth!

Apart from my lifeless mum ,dad and I ,no living human knows this secret!

You are the fourth person to know this Liza!"Clinton explained .

Instead of running away ,I stood there and listened without fear. I was prepared to hear everything he would say because I knew that ,he wouldn't joke with such an issue which forms the delicate part of his life.

I didn't know why I had this feeling but I felt connected to his story .

Maybe ,he had explanations as to the reason why he was always in my dreams,I thought.

"Are you okay Liza ?"Clinton asked picking some berries from her hands into his mouth just to release her tension .

"Yes ,I am ! So continue with your story!

I'm all ears !" I said and sat by the trunk of one of the elm trees which stood at the bank of the river next to his side.

Suddenly, I developed some confidence to hear more about his story with the hope that i would also find my answers in there.

"I always came here to ease my mind off my stress and problems.

Gradually ,I built this cottage for my relieve .

This cottage contains so many memories of my childhood .This is the place I can proudly call my home.

I had no one to share my problems or griefs with at that time so I confided in this elysian .

At times ,I would go to my mum's bedroom and speak to her lifeless body hoping she would wake up and wipe my tears away but to no avail.

I had never lacked anything in my life.

I have lived a luxurious life from childhood till now but believe me when I say that ,I found joy in none of them .

From the outside ,people wanted to live my life but they had no idea that I put myself in that order to impress them and build the reputation that my dad always wanted .

Being the son of a multi-time billionaire ,I was the center of all media personalities ,I was always on interviews giving an account of how I lived my life and how I spent my day.

But none of them asked what was here [pointing to his heart] with tears running down my eyes as well as his."Liza patted his shoulders and hugged him immensely .

"For years ,I have endured the pain of my mum's absence and soothing love.

I have had so many nannies but none could love me like a mum does.

I have no memories with my mother but I feel as if she could love me better than all of those nannies.

For nineteen years,I have watched her stuck in that bed lifeless .

I always told her stories of how I spent my day and about what I do with my life hoping that she would wake up from her sleep and say something but all that was in vain .

I have endured this pain for nineteen years !

Yes I know ,I flaunt my wealth . I know I'm arrogant and proud but circumstances led me to live that life.

Had I had a mother's affection and love ,I would've been different.

I made money my god, treating everyone the way I wanted and wanting them to follow my orders ,because I thought it would make me happy .

But it didn't ! It rather made me embitter!"Clinton hit his fist against the trunk of the elm tree but Liza was able to control him before his anger got out of hand .

"Liza,you are special! Your words transformed me to realize my mistakes.

No wonder Klara took your side when I spoke bitterly against you !"Clinton admitted the truth .

"Oh really ?!"I asked with my eyes wide open .

"Yeah , she really likes you a lot ! She stood up against me for you !

For the first time ever ..!"Clinton added and Liza smiled.

"I know you are the only one ready to listen to me ,Liza !

Although , there's Klara ,I know you're the only one who can understand me .

Hmm! That's why I want to tell you something delicate about my life ,Liza!"Clinton sighed before standing up to his feet .

"What is it Clinton ?"I asked wiping my hands with the edges of my gown .

"What I'm about to say seems unbelievable !

Don't shout alright ?"Clinton said and Liza nodded in agreement .

"Are you sure you would want to listen ?"Clinton emphasized .

"Yes I do Clinton! I'm ready for anything you tell me .I won't judge you ,I promise!"Liza even crossed her heart .

"Liza , look at me ! Don't freak out okay ?!"Clinton held her hand and they both looked into their eyes .

"Liza , i'm not fully human ,I'm a human alien!"As soon as I heard this ,I wanted to let go off his hand as my heart had jumped into my stomach but I was still standing right in front of him waiting to hear what was left to be said .

"I know aliens have been proven to be faced with extinction but i'm one of them .

I have the blood running through my veins and that is where I get my handsomeness and stunning looks from.

My mother is an alien witch from an alien clan and my dad is human.

I'm a product of that love which brought curse to my mum and I !

My mother is in this state because she is cursed and her curse has been passed on to me.

I can't start a family of my own because my wife will die and our generations will suffer the same fate !

This is my destiny and this is my fate!"As soon as he finished saying this ,he pulled me into his embrace .
