Chapter Nineteen

Eliza ,my dear ,it's great you are here ,dad said welcoming Clinton and I with a hug .It's strange that I heard my dad call my name in full .It was mostly Liza not Eliza ,I wondered making my way to hug my mum and Clinton's parents .

After listening to the news being broadcast on television ,I could now sense the reason behind the happiness of the gathering .The victims of the flood were now been giving proper medical care ,good food and a shelter .Listening to their comments over the news ,they were extremely happy that we came to their aid . I was happy too but destiny sometimes pushes us to the wrong people .

Secretary Banzon ,General Santiago Guerro ,Attorney Carlos Ibarra and his wife Maite Ibarra were all over the news and all social media platforms across the state and beyond .They were now having many followers and all too soon ,their illegal businesses have been forgotten .They were being praised by the citizens and it was clearly seen across their faces that restoring the trust of the citizens was their outermost priority .They can now carry out their illegal businesses without any close watch .How disgusting ,I thought as situation had pushed me to sought help from them .

Anyway ,don't you all think that our attorneys deserve a hands of applause because all of these were possible by their efforts .Thanks to their great work ,these poor victims of flood have received so much help and are now safe .They got the donors for us in time and our problems had halted at that instance ,Astrid said raising her glass for a toast .

Our families were proud of us but I wasn't happy because I knew the outcome of the help the donors gave to us .Excuse me ,I said exiting the hall where the gathering was held .I went into the garden and sat on the swing to receive some fresh air and take my mind of issues which popped up today .I was exhausted with anger and rage .

What's happened suddenly that caused Liza to walk out on us ?

Strange Astrid ,I think something is definitely wrong somewhere . Everything is not okay ,I'm sure of that .

Don't worry Jean ,I will see what's wrong ,Clinton said exiting the hall as well .

While in the garden ,I moved up to the terrace to having a viewing pleasure of the entire city .There was no doubt that the city was attractive with a collection of lights around .Life is sometimes strange ,it changes when you don't expect it ,I thought throwing my eyes about the dim moon and viewing the imaginary images of creatures in the sky .It was fun to take time off and have a look at the good things nature provides . It's a dashed shame to see criminals around and I can't do anything about it because some situations are unpredictable .

The moon gives hope to a brand new day ,it gives us the opportunity to experience all the good things that comes with nature .It's such a pity that some people fail to look at the moon even once in a life time . I know that I can't wipe out your worries because I'm not worthy of it but I know that whatever that happened earlier today was not because we wanted it but it was just to support the needy. You told me yourself that ,these victims are more important than any other thing .Liza ,today these people have received support because of your efforts but I know that you are shattered because you fear that the hope that these poor victims have in life will be shattered completely. Today ,they have placed their trust in the wrong people and you fear that ,they will be betrayed again . I know I'm in no place to tell you what's right or wrong but if you need someone to talk to ,don't forget that I'm ready to listen .

I'm happy that I could do something to give others comfort but I'm disturbed that this comfort will bring them nothing but loss .I simply hope these youths will not indulge in their illegal businesses which will end their lives especially now that ,they believe that their work is genuine .That's all I'm worried about and nothing else . Clinton ,there's no need to worry about me ,I will be fine but I guess you have to go home now since the weather is not in our favour .This month is a month of rains and I don't want the rains to trap you here .

Dinner is ready ,Corazon said with Hazel helping her out to set the table . Today was a good and memorable day so I guess we should celebrate ,Corazon said covered in a smile .

Clinton ,where is Liza ? ,we are about to have dinner .Mum ,she will be here anytime soon .

It's raining and it's not advisable for her to get drenched in the rain .She will catch up with cold so please call her in .

Mum ,nothing as such will happen and besides Liza is a fun of rains so no amount of words will bring her back inside until she decides to .I suggest ,you give her some time alone .

Hazel ,don't worry ,my daughter is a full fun of rains and I think until she's had enough of the rains ,she won't come in . I'm her mother and I know it very well so let's wait till she returns .

Alright Corazon ,I have no worries now if you say so .

I love rains to , it helps to pour down our emotions easily without any interference .That's why ,I can understand if you prefer to silently let out your tears be washed away by rains instead of speaking to someone .

Sweetheart ,I'm your dad and I will give you everything you want just the same way you can speak out to me like a friend and not a father .I'm ready to hear you no matter what the situation is .Whether you are right or wrong ,your father will support you and he will break any barrier that hurts you .

Without a word ,I hugged my dad tightly in tears .
