Chapter 12- Something Suited for Me

--Alexandria POV--

"Mum! She has a moving animal toy on her shoulder!"

I figured the young child was talking about me, if not for the moving animal on my shoulder comment then it was probably his finger that was pointing at me.

"It's a real animal," His mother corrected him as she sent me an apologetic smile for her noisy child. I didn't mind though, he was a cute kid.

"He's an eagle," I expanded for them and stroked Ryder's head while doing so. The boy's jaw fell open as he gaped at the said eagle.

"Is he your pet?"

"No, he's my friend," The boy giggled at my answer but was cut off when Ryder squawked an angry squawk at him. Jumping, he quickly hid behind his mother and this time it was me that was smiling at her apologetically.

I wasn't living as an independent person in this city for more than a week and I'm still looking for a job but one thing I've learnt here is that Ryder didn't like children.
