Chapter 54- An Old Letter

--Alexandria POV--

I lay on the pile of leaves in the treehouse for a while after I woke up, tiredly staring at the ceiling and lazing about until I decided to get up. Feeling my stomach grumble in hunger, I didn't want to eat just yet.

I crawled over to the small box that was filled with books that Alpheus sent me years ago. John used to always read these books to me and I had red them to myself too, so many times that I ended up memorising a few of them.

Opening it, I shuffled through the books but stopped when I caught sight of something sticking out of one of the thick, hardcover books.

'Mysteries of the human mind' was the title of the book, one of my favourite books that taught me so much about psychology and John easily agreed with me on this.

Hearing a squawk, I turned to see Ryder fly into the room.

"Good morning," I smiled and he squawked, landing on the edge of the box filled with books and pecked at a few books in curiosity.
