Chapter 65- Wedding Preparations

"I like this one," I pointed to the maroon colour and my mother nodded in agreement. "This, with this, will go perfect together," She put the two colours beside each other and I nodded, a happy smile on my face.

"We have to leave two chairs on the front row empty. One for father and one for John," I quickly said, clicking my fingers in realisation. Mother didn't say anything, she only smiled at me and I oddly stared at her, tilting my head to the side in confusion.

"Are you okay? Are you not feeling well?" I asked, placing my hand on her cheeks and forehead to check if she had a fever but stopped when she held my hand in hers.

"I've never felt better," She assured.

"...Then why do you look like you're on the verge of tears?" I whispered and she laughed, leaning in to hug me and I hugged back without hesitation, smiling when I felt her hand stroking the back of my head.
