Making you happy

The whole remainder of the week I spent in the palace was gloomy and sad. I couldn't just get the fact that my beautiful, pure mate was abused by a sinner when she was a child out of my damn head.

And it hurts very badly.

It hurts even more because I can't punish the sinner in the most brutal ways. Because he was already punished in the harshest ways possible by the king once the dark secret surfaced onto the brim.

I've been cuddling my baby from time to time, all the time. It's an honest feeling from my side, and I genuinely want her to heal from that trauma.

I could just, maybe, release that memory from her mind. But that's only possible when we have fulfilled our ritual. I can control anyone's memory, anything, to be specific, but not my mate's actions and thoughts.

Today was the day when I finally go back to my parents place to inform them about something. And here I am, right now, in front of my house, knocking on the door.

I hear my mom shouting at my dad who grumbles under his breath, but eventually walks to the door to invite me inside. He hugs me as soon as he realizes it was me, my scent giving my presence from meters away.

"Look who's back! Helen come down here! Our son is back from the palace!" I happily giggle at my parent's enthusiasm.

They've been peasants, mere farmers for all their lifetime. And me as their only son visiting the palace for the first time made them feel proud and happy. If I could take them to the palace, I would definitely do.

After talking for hours and hours together about my wonderful stay at the palace, we had dinner and I was back in my room. I've been staring at the ceiling and the walls for too many unusual hours, my mind clogged by the problems my mate is facing at the moment.

I shouldn't have tried to be suggestive at all in the first place.

'Great going with your relationship, Ronald. You've been hurting her ever since you met her.' My subconscious mind sassed at me.

There's always a solution for everything. And this one has too.

I'm going to keep my mate so, so happy that she's eventually going to forget about her traumatic past. It's not going to be easy, but I'd still love to try. I want the smile back on her face, the pure, sincere happiness radiating from her face and her body.

I'm on it.

"Honey? Where are you going!?" My mother enquires as I tush out of the house early morning.

"Oh hey mom, good morning! I'm going to Dan's place for awhile! Don't expect me to be back early!"

"Alright! Be safe!"

"Yes, mom!"

And I'm off.

*Ding Dong*

I smile at the familiar grumbling of my angry best friend.

Well, he was never an early bird.

"Who the hel— OHMAHGOD RON!"

I'm suddenly pulled into his embrace, and I chuckle. (Bromance~)

"Yo! Bro you stink!" My sensitive wolf nose picks up the yucky smell of his nasty drool, and he pulls away awkwardly before I begin to laugh.

"Hey ma! Look who's here!" Daniel screams and a very excited looking lady descends down the flight of stairs and right onto me, crushing me in her embrace.

"Oh, uh um, hello to you t-too aunty." I squeal the words out from my mouth whilst my lungs were being crushed.

'I can't breathe!' I mouthed comically to Dan who snickers at my misery. A strong pat on my poor back and aunt Jenny breaks the ultra strong hug.

"It's been so long, my boy! Heard you've been to the palace with the Princess~" she teases me while my cheeks get hitter as the seconds tick by.

"Yeah..." I respond to her shyly, scratching my neck but secretly smacking Dan's head through my powers.

"Ow!"

"Oh what?" aunt Jenny looks at her boy in concern but I drag him upstairs to his bedroom by then.

"Calm down, calm down tiger. What's the matter? Haven't seen you so excited in awhile, well, except for 'that' day"

"Oh come on bro. Well, just get ready will you? Let's go for some shopping." I order and jump on his fluffy bed.

"Huh?? Okay..." he in surely responds to me and grabs his towel before entering his bathroom. In the meantime, I cross check through everything almost a million more times.

I haven't slept yesterday, and have been planning for the whole night to make my beautiful Princess happy.

Oh, the pun.
