I gasp, hitting my forehead as I realise my thought process has been wrong the entire time.
"Holy... Why didn't I think of this before??" I hit my head again and Jane giggles heartily at me. The king is just right behind our car and gets down, surveying the dense forest around.
"The dark woods?"
"The shallow lake, father." I hear Jane and grin at the lake which is sparkling with fresh water, as always.
"The lake could be the source for his energy, and also the witches and wizards can figure out how to channel the water powers in him to keep him energized." My heart swells with pride as I appreciate Jane's quick thinking.
"To be honest, father. I was thinking of using one of your gardens at the risk of ruining the beautiful flowers in there." I speak out my initial plan, Jane looking at me with wide eyes.
"Oh no, they love their flowers more than the people. Metaphorically speaking that is." Jane cracks a joke, the king patting her shoulder whilst laughing.
"Alright, so I'm going to have to prepare everything. Father, please accompany Natalie here with you. Take as much precautions as you have to, because we can't trust her." I whisper the last part to the king because I don't want to sadden Jane and let her know I think of her friend as a potential threat.
"In an hour." The king says and takes Jane's hand in his to get back into the car.
"No! Father, I want to stay." Jane speaks out when she realizes she's got to go back to the palace.
"Is it safe to be around the elemental?" he enquires and I nod my head.
"She'll be safe, father. It's not much work as I prepare stuff. Everyone has to stay away when I start the process. That's all." I assure the king and he curtly nods before leaving the forest.
"I'm worried about you..." I chuckle at that.
"Why so, Princess?" I approach her, hold her chin and peck her lips.
"Last time you came to me after saving the people, you were as sick as as a dead person. I almost though you were dead in your sleep, Ron. I cried the whole night that day." My smile falls as she keeps talking about the day I went out to save the hotel residents. A frown replaces my face now.
"Hey. Even I want to, I can't die because I have to live for you, baby girl." I lay the roots on the ground and kiss her all over the face.
"Don't say that..."
"Sorry..." I apologize her again for making her gloomy. The set up keeps happening without me moving a muscle as my powers are put into use. Jane sits on my lap as I cradle her like a baby, kissing and caressing her hair often.
That was until distant sounds of the car engine resounded against the quiet silence of the woods.
"She's here." The guard beside the king informs and I nod. A signal was given to the other SUV and the wolf-witch Natalie gets down alongside three wizards and three other royal guards surrounding her.
"Natalie." I call her name, she looks up at me.
"Are you really REALLY sure you want to get out of this lifestyle? And go back to being a werewolf?"
"Yes." she nods a bit desperately, and I sense no lie in her testament.
"Let's have a final verdict from the King." I announce and she rolls her eyes, very eager to change but we're all just being safe.
"I allow whatever is happening for the good of the people I love. Ronald, please proceed."
"Yes, your majesty." and I start.
I beckon everyone to leave before there's any bad force beginning to rise.
"I'll see you in a few days."
"Be safe and I want everyone to come back home. I'm serious, Ron."
"I will. That's my promise to you." one final kiss and Princess Jane enters the car, waving sadly with a sad smile.
"Come on." I walk into the structure built by tufts of roots, the lighter and veiny ones to each of Natalie's side.
"Hold these. And hold them tight. Don't loosen your grip on them or the process is going to be useless. Keep it steady, alright?"
"Wait. So I have to keep holding it for as many days as it takes?"
"Yes." her eyes widen in shock.
"That's tortuous enough to hear..."
"Hey. Don't think about it like that. As determined and focused you are, the ritual is going to take less time to complete. So can you please cooperate? I can give you some time to calm yourself down." she instantly agrees and I give her a small smile, stepping away from the structure and re-explaining the events and processes the witches and wizards have to carry out to help me.
"Hey. I'm done."
"Okay. My name is Ronald, Ron for short."
"Got it." she acknowledges and stands up straight. I hand her the veiny roots to hold in both of her hands and get to my place, we face each other.
"And hey." I look up at her. If she needs more time, then it's fine—
"Thank you very much for helping me, Ronald. I will forever be under your grace. I can't thank you just enough." I smile.
"Whatever I'm doing, is for Jane. Her happiness is what I crave for, and I'm doing it for that. So, you don't have to thank me, thank Jane because it's all on your friend." she smiles a smile so gradient which defines 'exit from slavery'. And I somewhat feel a tad bit bad. It shouldn't have been her. She was a good woman...
"Let's start."
[A/N : Guys. Being an elemental has its pros and cons and the protagonist is being a good character. All Ronald is doing is summoning the angels, channeling their energies through him and helping the woman (Natalie) to leave the witch out of her skin and get her werewolf form back.
I'm sorry I can't elaborate the process much but do imagine a world ritual the tribes and those people do.
Sincerely,
Your author.]
