THIRTY- COURTHOUSE

Three days later, Marcus Dean was again greeted by the cold sterile passages and dark furniture and doors greeting him with the staff being just as their surroundings. Feeling trapped he reached out to his colleagues in the legal fraternity for assistance to evade and avoid, but his plea for help echoed like the footsteps in the halls of justice.

A former law student and one who knows the physical amenities of several courthouses he sat and waited patiently outside the door of his fate on the dark, hard pine bench observing the staff that seemingly wondered the halls aimlessly so early this Friday morning. Civil servants, witnesses, family of the accused and victims all comingled, judging with scepticism and fear of what awaited them behind each dark doorway as the day began to unfold.
