Chapter 23

“You know, hiding from your problems is never the best solution.” Mr O’Connor stated as he read the newspaper while lounging in his plushy couch.

“What makes you think I’m hiding from anything?” I looked up from the book I was writing in. We were sitting in the O’Connor’s lounge and just enjoying the peaceful morning. Everything just seemed so calm and perfect in their neighborhood. Living on a farm does have it’s benefits it seems.

“You took apart your phone and left your laptop at home. You either joined a group that is against the use of technology or you’re in hiding.” He wasn’t wrong there. I didn’t want to be disturbed by anyone or anything these past couple of days. I barely even looked at the TV. All I wanted to do was have a break from my life and just enjoy the peaceful freedom on the farm.

“I just needed a break.”

“A break is you moving out of your parents’ house to living on the opposite end of town. Going to a different countryside altogether is running away.”
