Chapter 29

“Naomi, how was your trip?” My mother decided to ask her as we sat around the Andrews’ dinner table. I hoped that no one asked that question because it was sure to lead to follow up questions which would lead to a few awkward moments. I was having a really difficult time even trying to act normal knowing that my relationship with Naomi was hanging in the balance because of her trip.

“I was mostly in the hospital so I couldn’t go sightseeing unfortunately but I enjoyed it. Everyone seemed so friendly though.” Naomi answered. She was smart; she didn’t give them a vague or direct answer so there was not a lot they could go on.

“There’s an amazing resort an hour out of that town along the coast. If you go back there then maybe you could treat yourself there a little.” My father suggested.

“Yes, their spa is world class.” My mother added.

“Sounds like we should pay that place a visit then.” Mrs Andrews told her husband as she smiled.
