"There are businesswoman matters I must attend to." Boss gave Wei's shoulders a tap, "Give him a warm welcome, he deserves it." And she went into her office.

Wei Xiaojian and I stared at one another as we were unsure about the next steps to take. His flashy outfit still wore tears and dust that were the trails of our fights, and I was supposed to hug him tight like my friend?

Jieung-yong, the Puma, and I then looked at each other. Even if they didn't live my battles against Wei, they weren't beaming with joy either.

I didn't know what to say. But my mouth moved on its own to fill the void, "Somebody wants to grab a coffee?"

The Firm employees nodded and turned their heels to the cafeteria. I followed them.

"Guys…" The young man didn't accept his desertion.

Jieung-yong and the Puma didn't react and started to chat about luxury hotels. I thought the Puma would hear him at least. He could literally hear someone tear a piece of paper in another room.

His complaints slowed down my steps as I hesitated to talk to him. This poor guy was just doing his job. And he was so kind. And such a good cook.

What should I do?

Was I acting like a cold-hearted person? I shook my head. No, He was this close to killing me. Twice in a row. I ran a little to join the Puma and Jieung-yong.

Inside the cafeteria, the Puma walked swiftly between the furniture as if it were his room. He poured coffee into a cup he then gave it to Jieung-yong. The latter stroked his arm while the other smiled at him. That level of tenderness was indecent.

I narrowed my eyes in suspicion, "Since when are you...?"

"Ah. Song-ho. Right here when I needed you." Jieung-yong pressed his elbow against a high-tech table and sipped in his hot cup, "How it's going since the white room-?"

The Puma punched his belly, and Jieung-yong spat his coffee, "David, fuck!"

Wait, they didn't notice me? And...David?

If I were in a good shape, I would have scratched my collarbone in embarrassment.

"Surprisingly, Wei's obsession with loyal fights allowed me to survive."

'David''s smile faltered, "I'm sorry."

Jieung-yong made a 'shhh' sound, "Don't say that. If we were absent, it was to help you better. Why sweat in a battle when you can win the whole war? In no time, I'll get rid of Boss!"

"You're going to what?"

"You think that's normal for her to let her employees rot like that in a white cage?" Jieung-yong said, "You think it's logic to hire our nemesis as if it wasn't a big deal? She doesn't give a damn about our security. You know, money fucked up these types of people."

Maybe he was right. This woman was crazy. And my reason should hate her with all my strength but…I couldn't.

"Don't underestimate Nadine Ndongo's gentleness." The newcomer's voice echoed in the cafeteria. Wei Xiaojian leaned on the door. He was wearing the same mask he wore when he made toasts in the white room and was wearing the black Firm's uniform, with the top hat.

Wei approached the two friends, who were as frozen as Korea's winter. He took a fresh can from the fridge, "Well, that's how you welcome me? It's as cold as that freezer!"

Hmm. I admit this analogy was better.

He laughed at his linguistical strength. Jieung-yong and David kept on chatting and drinking despite his presence.

He looked at me because the others were reluctant to include him in their bubble. He looked at me as if he begged me to remove a thorn in his foot.

"Ah." I diverted my glare, "that joke wasn't that bad."

He barked as if he had an epiphany moment, "A toast. That's what you want? Crusty, you said?"

I lowered my eyes. David and his mate dug holes on my nape with their glare.

"Listen, I don't think it'll work. You can't cancel what you did by feeding me sugar and fat. If you want a tour of the building, ask anyone, but I won't do anything for you."

I exited the room and locked myself in my bedroom. As soon as I had a bit of privacy, I fell to the ground, "I already have my mother to save and my dream to fulfill. If he filled my problems bucket…"

Someone knocked on the door.

"Who is it?"

I heard low stammering, "I heard your friend talk about taser guns. It not very…hum."

"For fuck sake, Wei!"

"Sorry. I wanted to tell you that I kill for a living. I'm not supposed to sympathize with my victims. But you're not one of them anymore. Well, it's not simple to ask you to forget everything, but if you could at least try…"

"I could if you explain what you're doing at the Firm, and why you left the Tai's."

There was a hushed silence.

"…I can't."

"Then forget about it. And you're not forced to tag along. There's a ton of people here who would find you charming." I chuckled, "Oh yes, you tied them all up and let them starve for two days!"

This time it wasn't his voice that I heard but the ring of a phone. It ringed several times before Zheng Tai's voice spat in the speakers.

"Where are you, you bastard? You'll see what you'll get when you come home."

"I won't. I won't come home anymore."

Wait a minute. He was...

"Tai, Nadine Ndongo is now my Boss. Asshole."

"…You..." He didn't have the time to realize what happened to him. Wei hung up and inhaled.

I opened the door. Between the split in the half door, Wei wiped off a tear.

"Wei! That was…You're crazy? He's going to kill you."

He chuckled, then laughed loudly, "At least, it's officially finished. You believe me now?"

"Of course but…Don't be reckless like that."

"Yoh Song-ho, you're too sentimental."

Too sentimental he said... That was a big deal. Wei didn't laugh the day Tai's Clan blew up the underground entrance to take Wei back.

Boss had reunited her fighting staff, me included. From his high throne, lifted by the Teal Tai, Zheng Tai stared at his previous Queen, "Traitor."

"He made that decision by his own choice." Nadine answered, "Well, I admit that choice will shorten your life but honestly, no one cares.

Zheng Tai made someone give him a wine bottle. I thought he wanted to drink to deal with the bad news but didn't drink it. He threw the bottle at Wei.

The other, without weapons or reflexes, froze.

With one bullet, I shattered the bottle.

Wei found his movements back, "Song-ho! You're crazy?"

Jieung-yong stared at me with wide eyes.

The enemy of the White Boss is my friend. I stepped before Wei and stared at Zheng Tai from the ground up.

He clenched his teeth.

I didn't understand what happened between those two guys, but no one deserved to be in the claw of this evil man.
