Chapter 1

*bell rings at school*

As soon as the students got into their class an enormous swoop of chatter filled up the empty classroom with no teacher. There was one boy who no one would go by without noticing and that was Tyler Bodega... Well, obviously you would be able to notice him due to all the stares he got from girls galore. Judging from his irritated glare, you could tell he wasn’t a fan of this attention so, he tried to distract himself by talking to his friends. However, they seemed to have other things in mind...

“Hey Ty...I got a mad party coming up and this invite is calling your name!”

“I need advice about whether I should go to the gym and become a fitness fanatic – more muscles mean more girls am I right!

“Earth to Tyler... Are you alright man?” Dylan, Tyler’s best friend, asked with a wary look on his face.

Immediately, Tyler snapped back to reality and acknowledged him. You can’t really blame him for being worried – everyone knew about the famous football match they had against Mackleton School, the sportiest school in the borough. Tyler’s team simply HAD to win... or else. Reputation gone.

After that numb-wracking lesson all Tyler wanted to do was just to go home and flop on his bed but, a tap on the shoulder seemed to ruin that dream.

“Hi! My name is Lacey, sorry...this is weird. I just saw you seemed really worried and I wanted to ask if you were okay!” Lacey blurted out, relieved that she didn’t stammer once.

“Hey, thanks so much for asking I’m fine thanks for asking – I'm just worried about that match coming up” Tyler replied – shocked that someone would ask that.

“Well, I don’t really think it’s that big a deal but, hopefully with a bit of luck you’ll make it through!” Lacey replied, trying

to be positive for him.

“Actually, I think with hard work and dedication we should be fine, ‘luck’ doesn’t get you anywhere. Practice does. And that’s what I should be doing instead of wasting time talking to you” Tyler bluntly replied.

“Okay then... sorry I asked” Lacey sadly said, and with that she hurried back home so Tyler wouldn’t see her tears.

As much as Tyler did feel bad, you wouldn’t have been able to tell from that worried facial expression on his face as he hurried off back home. Why he did that, I’m sure he’ll reveal in his diary...
