He sat in the king's throne.
It wasn't his, of course. He had no interest in ruling a kingdom, but for now, the masses needed leadership. And so, here he was, decided what to do with those that had lost.
"Please have mercy" said the defeated king.
Louis looked at him from the throne with distaste.
Hunters represented power. To him, they were prideful creatures that would rather die than beg. That was, before the news spread of how Louis tortured those that lost at his hands.
"Leave him here chained and naked for now, we shall continue with his ceremony later" said Louis.
His close atendants started darting around, scrambling to make sure his orders were completed.
Next came the royal family.
The queen was a very beautiful woman, who looked too young to be a proper queen. Louis smiled upon looking at her. Even though she was going to suffer a horrible fate, she looked imposing and strikingly beautiful.
The more graceful they are, the worst his punishment would seem to them.
"The queen is going to be having fun with my men. I need someone to entertain them for the night" said Louis.
The soldiers in the room smiled. The newer recruits were worried. They were still fighting with a spirit of rightosness, so a lady being raped was not their idea of good.
But the older recruits knew of the terrors these people had committed. Just by glancing at the gold and diamond filled room of a hungry kingdom you would know how many autrociuos crimes these people have committed.
He then continued to decide how the nobles would be punished, until someone finally questioned his authority.
"But sire, aren't you being to cruel to some of these nobles? many of them have been good rulers of their people" Said the new recruit.
The room was silent.
Every eye in the room was looking at Louis. the question had been asked by a new soldier. He was Louis bodyguard because Louis himself needed his very versatile powers for his schemes.
The new soldier grew uncomfortable in the responding silence. Nobody made a move, as they waited for his answer. Everybody wanted to hear his answer, the hear again the reason as to why they did what they did. Louis knew that.
Everybody waited for him to say something for half an hour.
Louis finally said, in a small voice that if not for everybody being quite would not have been heard,"Would you like to suggest something else?"
The soldier, after waiting so long for an answer, was not expecting a question. "I am unsure, sire" was his only response.
Then Louis continued to ask,"Then do you know why a human like myself, is leading such a strong group of Hunters?".
"Because of your great achievements, sire" said the soldier.
"And my friend, what are the achievements of those nobles who are claimed to be righteous?"
"Their achievements?"
"Nothing. They did nothing while people around them suffered. Why have we liberated this country? We are not citizens of this country. We did not do this in search of wealth, or because we were tired of the government. We did this because when tyrrany is law, rebellion becomes duty"
And so, everybody fell quite, as Louis continued. "Those nobles you claim to be good stood on the sideline while the king continued killing millions. What kind of good man stands aside while his friend is tortured next to him? Those that do nothing against evil are worse than those that are evil, because they exist for nothing at all".
Later that night, before the victory party was about to start, as Louis was getting changed, somebody knocked on his door. Louis allowed them to come in, an the previous queen stood the door.
He smiled at her. He liked woman that were cunning.
"So, what are your terms, my queen?" he asked her.
The beautiful queen bowed at him, and entered the royal room. The reason why she was here? She knew that none of his soldiers would ever dare of touching whomever Louis decided to stay the night with. She would rather sleep with the leader of the rebellion. The man that tortured her late husband for hours and hours on end.
She would do it to survive the night, and to spare her child from being raped by too many men to count.
"My terms? Losers have no rights" she said.
"You are wrong. Everybody has rights. Every human being in this world should have rights. Just because you are weak, does not mean yo deserve to be trash. Is weakness wrong? Is strenght right? They are not, because I, a human, the weakest being in our world, stands at the top. That is the reason why I have remained human. And I will continue to remain one until I have freed every single kingdom in the planet."
She started to serve him the most expensive wine in the kingdom.
"If everybody has rights, why would you treat the nobles this way?" she stated the obvious contradiction in what he was saying.
"That is why I was saying almost everybody has rights. Everybody except kings and leaders. We give up our rights in exchange of power. If power corrups everything in this world, then let us become something that does not exist in this world."
She continued to move towards the bed. Her children were waiting near her, hidden in the bathroom.
Louis wanted to make use of the opportunity left by the queen. he told the guards outside that, if he did not make it out alive tomorrow in the afternoon, to kill the children of the queen. And that for now, anybody that put their hands on them would lose that hand.
"Your very thorough. I would not kill you here, I wouldn't be able to escape" said the queen.
Louis simply moved next to where the nightstand was. There, he touched a button, and a secret passage was opened.
The queen stared at him in disbelief. There was no way that in less than an hour he could figure out that there was a passage in the room, and even figure out how to open it.
"The biggest reason why I am still human, my queen, is that my weakness is my biggest strenght" said Louis.
His cunning came from his weakness. If you have strenght, you have no reason to create schemes. Louis was always fighting someone stronger than him. The only way to beat them was with intellect. Schemes, strategies, plans. He was always thinking of a way to beat his opponent. That is how we became known as a liberator.
The queen laughed.
Her scheme was ruined. She would have escaped with her children in the morning, after having her revenge on the man that ruined her privildeged life.
"It is not over yet" said Louis. He now wanted her close. He liked intelligent woman, and her children still had a great use for him.
"I think I can save you".
And so, Louis finally, after a month of restless nights, had a peaceful night resting in a queens chest.
