A Dancing Star

This was the second country they had liberated.

Louis was known as the Sun King for the small transitional period the country had before it was made into a democratical meritocracy.

He was at the moment listening to the current state of affairs of the country. He had now worked nonstop for 38 hours. He was extremely fatigued, but there was just too much to do. The main industry of the country, mining, had completely halted because the noble family was killed. Overnight, all the nobles of the country were pretty much dead.

Only some of the children remained.

But they had prepared for this. Hunters are educated in all matters of estate, and most of his loyal close followers were Hunters. He simply had to give some of them a position, and have them do exactly as their instructions say.

He always thought it was ironic. To have a revolution to make sure power is distributed equally among Hunters and humans, yet to leave Hunters in all of the positions of power at the end. But there was one thing that scared him more than Hunters, which was a failed state. The people had to be educated before they were able to reach positions of power. And only Hunter's received an education.

"Your Highness, please tell me if I shall continue the operation in this manner," asked a young Hunter.

Louis had not been paying attention at all. He was very much human, and he had not had sleep for more than two days now. He would shortly start hallucinating if he did not get any rest.

Louis closest attendant moved without him having to say anything at all. She gave the man a detailed report of how to do three crop rotation and instructed him where he could find the potatoes they brought, and how to plant them. With this, the next agricultural harvest was going to be more plentiful, as potatoes are one of the crops that require less amount of space for plantation, and yield the most.

Yet he did not have to tell the man any of this.

At this moment, his presence was the only thing that was required for him. They had already made all the plans for how to govern the area. The reports, what to say, which ones come first, etc, was done down to the smallest detail. But that didn't mean that Louis would get a chance to rest.

He knew that humanity still needed its only hope, even if he wasn't doing anything at the moment.

As he was about to doze off, the next person came in.

It seems like it was time to punish the worst criminals in the country, the king, and his closest advisors.

He was the only king in the world that did not wear a crown. When asked about it, he would always say that a true king did not need a crown to show authority. He had no need for fancy clothing, jewelry, or any other material needs.

His simplicity gave him a regal sense of elegance.

So, even though he was not wearing a crown in his head, the people knew that they were in the presence of a true king.

And they were waiting for him.

It was a very beautiful day. The birds were chirping away. The smell of roses and lilac came in great abundance and filled the king's nostrils. The sun was warming up his skin. It felt good to be outside for a bit, instead of inside the throne room.

And so, he proceeded with the executions.

And so, the killing started. Louis grabbed a massive claymore sword, which was made lighter and deadlier with a very convenient power of a Hunter, and he took the head of the first noble. Everybody was surprised by the act, except those that had followed him. He believed that he was meant to carry as much sin as possible. He never had any need for somebody else to murder these people. He did it himself so that his followers carried no more of the burden of murder.

After a while, he finally got to the last one, the previous king.

The king had gone mad. Louis was true to his word, and had tortured him till he lost his sanity. The crowd quieted down as they were reaching the end. They went completely quiet for the last noble, and the king was finally here. And so, Louis, looking at the giant crowd, says to the king, almost in an unheard whisper, "One must have chaos within oneself, to give birth to a dancing star".

Louis had said it to himself. He had said it from his first execution to his last. He thought that one day, he would get used to it. But he still had trouble with killing a man with his own two hands.

He was afraid of becoming a monster. But this was the fate of the man that would walk the bath of blood to save mankind from itself.

He would become chaos, to give birth to a dancing star.
