With this announcement, every people within the city executed proper procedures based on how they were trained if a case like this occurred. Soon after, the city was left empty, and only people that are capable of dealing with the said crisis remained. Quare was flustered about the sudden events, whether she should evacuate as well or not.
"What should I do..? Should I flee? The danger rate is S... but I can fight as well... I can help... if only a little...."
She thought all of these but it was clearly shown on her face that she was troubled. Dright took notice of this then held her hand.
"You shouldn't worry about trivial things.... Let's go..."
"..."
Quare nodded and stared at the ground. Both of them started walking again, calmly and unwavering.
As time passed, the shaking became stronger and stronger until an oblivoid with the shape of a giant centipede called "Dragnapede," emerged from the central part of the city, which was several meters away from the siblings, seeking chaos and wreaking havoc. Its body had dragon scales and its feet were very sharp, it can instantly cut through metal like a sheet of paper.
As the Oblivoid emerged from the ground, so did some large-scaled weapons that was installed all over the city. Cannons, Lasers, and many others similar types of weapons, pointed their muzzles towards their enemy. These are controlled by an A.I. Soon after fixing the weapons’ positions, the A.I. commanding the weapons started firing at the monster.
Dright was very calm at the face of danger. Quare on the other hand had a face full of fear at the site of the monster. Dright walked leisurely while analyzing the monster, meanwhile Quare walked panicking. Many properties were destroyed. Blessed and Haulus within the vicinity tried to fight it off, but it was futile. The monster's danger rating is S+, meaning veterans of the highest caliber is needed, on the other hand, the people left fighting it off were merely students. Some succeeded in denting it, some even managed to cut a leg but none were lethal enough to kill it.
With its every step, giant cracks are formed as it breathed fire whenever it moved. Roaring and rampaging through the city like a mad bull, trampling anything on its paths.
When the fight against it was starting to look impossible and one sided, the Dragnapede moved its head to an injured girl that was unable to move, and was trapped at an open and damaged building.
Oblivoids were known to attack preys that are severely wounded first because of the strong smell of blood. Oblivoids are known to instinctively attack those that have severe wounds.
"Tsk! STOP RIGHT THERE MONSTER!"
"WE WON'T LET YOU PASS!"
As if predicting what was about to happen next, almost everyone that specializes in close ranged battles that were still able to fight protected the girl. These people attempted to block the monster and shield the girl from it but as they were about to strike its head, the Dragnapede parried their attacks and all of them were sent flying, scattered into the broken buildings. People with ranged weapons tried to fire at it with all their might but there aren't even a dent on its scales. Upon noticing, the monster swept its tail and made a strong gale, enough to reach the shooters, knocking them down.
As the monster closed by, the girl pointed her knife, her Zed, at it hoping she could at least hurt it before the worst comes.
But...
"Eh..?"
Just when it was about to gnaw at her, the mouth that should have chewed her exploded and the force swept away the girl at a safe distance. With that injury, the monster retreated. Smoke came out of its mouth haphazardly.
Meanwhile at a far distance.
Dright let out a sigh while making the proper stance for holding a sniper shaped Zed. Quare was standing behind him.
The explosion earlier was Dright's doing. He took Zeds out which seemed to be grenades from his Dimensional storage. Then made another dimension in front of him. With enough mastery, it was possible for these portals to be invisible. He waited for a timing when it would open its mouth, and that time was when it was about to gnaw the girl. When it did, he quickly opened another dimension portal at the monster's open mouth and threw all of the bombs at once, three in total. One of those bombs let out poison, making the monster wriggle in extra pain.
If attacking from the outside doesn't work, then attack from the inside. This made the Oblivoid weak and retreat away from the building, and to finish it, Dright pulled the trigger of his gun and charged up its power. The target was its head.
"Time to end this..."
With a grin, he released the trigger, and accurately shot anti-material matter bullet, in full power, concentrated at one point at the head of the Dragnapede, obliterating its head into nothingness. Quare watched with relief at the sight of the monster falling with a loud sound, still convulsing.
The girl that was saved traced where the shot came from and stared blankly at the two blue haired people at a rather far distance.
"What... just happened..?"
"Who...?"
The people left conscious let out surprised and confused statements and expressions. The battle ended, and nobody died.
Dright yawned and continued walking forward, as he made a giant portal below the monster and placed it into his storage.
"Can't let a good material go to waste.." was his thoughts at the time as he and Quare leisurely walked toward their destination. Everyone at present there just stared at the monster as it got swallowed up by the giant portal at the ground. After the incident, automatic robots and drones designed for construction and repair were seen fixing all of the damaged properties.
Moments later, places that were not damaged resumed service. The people at the Royal Chaos Academy did not evacuate because the school was equipped with the most advanced defensive system. Because of this, there were no issues of cancelling classes but those that were seriously injured during the crisis were excused.
