Chapter 32: All Hail The King

The sun is shining and the morning air is fresh, Ray who has wake up early standing outside the inn to enjoy the fresh air. Zed is also wake up early then usual, he search for Ray but he can't find inside the inn, then he try ask the inn keeper if she saw a zombie.

"Oh the zombie guy he's already out"

"I see thanks"

Zed decide to start training with Ray today, he want to master close quarter combat so badly. Then he see Ray wandering around the human kingdom and immediately approach him.

"Morning Ray"

"Oh morning Zed you're early today"

"Actually"

Zed started to explain everything to Ray, he wanted to start the training today to improve his close combat ability. Although it will just improve by a little, Zed wish to improve it so he won't become a burden for Ray.

"Okay then let's go to the arena"

They headed towards the arena, while on their way they saw Jaz at the arena entrance and immediately greet him. He is still thinking about the offer that Ray propose to him and it seems he didn't have the answer yet.

"Morning Jaz"

"Oh morning Ray"

"Still thinking huh?, Don't worry too much if you didn't want to join it's okay we won't force you"

"No it's not that I won't join but I just worry about the human kingdom safety who will protect them"

"Haha you worry too much, Just leave it to your friends they're strong, If you still can't decide then you can ask for their opinion"

"Haha I guess I worry too much, alright then I will keep that in mind, thanks Ray. Eh by the way what are you going to do in the arena"

Ray started to explain about Zed who wanted to train his close quarter combat ability. Jaz nod and also curious about the training, so he decide to join them.

"You can join the training if you wanted too haha"

"It's okay I will just watch for now"

So Jaz sit a few meters away from them, just in case their battle is fierce. Ray tell Zed to get ready because he will come towards him with an intent to kill. Before engaging in the battle, Jaz suggest them to wear the cloth that specialize in combat. The cloth is produce by humans if they want to train.

They both wear it and getting ready, the aura that Ray emit is menacing. Zed's hand start to shaking, the Ray he know has change but the speed of his improvement is too much.

"Here I come"

Ray disappear, this time Zed can't rely on his eyes anymore he need to use his instinct to detect Ray. The first attack is in the front, thanks to his reaction time he react just before Ray's dagger reach his body. The strike really come with an intent to kill.

Although it's just a dagger, just one hit from Ray's dagger sent chills to his spine. It's heavy and if Zed's reaction time is slower, then he definitely got hit by Ray's dagger.

"Ho, you're good Zed but how about this"

Ray start to attack Zed continuously without giving him a chance to strike back, Zed start to stagger, the continuous attack from Ray is too much for Zed.

After enduring for a few minutes, Ray immediately stop and proceed to the next training. Jaz who watch the training can't help but to stay in guard because the attack from Ray is serious and if someone with a slow reflex it will be hard for them.

"So for the next training you will learn how to disarm your opponent, you may encounter this in the future so no harm in learning it now"

"Okay"

"Okay then let me show you how it's done try attacking me now."

Zed hesitate for a second but he know he must do this to improve, he immediately strike Ray with all his might. In just a few second Zed just got pin down in the ground. With his sword disarmed he can't do anything and he tap out.

"Woah how did you do it?"

"I use your momentum as my advantage, when you try to attack me you will use all your strength to strike me down right, so I use that as my advantage to disarm you. One more thing, you must be fast if you're slow your opponent might anticipate and he will quickly counter it"

Zed understand it and he immediately ask Ray to attack him, of course he fail on the first try but after five tries Zed manage to disarm Ray. Ray give Zed some compliment and proceed to the next training, Jaz once again felt like his life is threaten just by watching Ray and Zed training.

"So the next training will be complete bare hands, imagine you manage to disarm your opponent and your opponent also manage to disarm you so the next thing you will do is to kill him by bare hand."

"But how?"

"Remember when we first fighting each other?, you attacked my pressure point right?, so that also can kill someone"

Zed speechless, he didn't know that aiming for the pressure point can kill someone, the only thing he remember all of his killing only done by using a weapon and this is new for him. So the training continue until evening.

Bell and Ryo who are late, immediately headed towards the arena but when they arrived it's already done. Ray, who saw them immediately knocked their heads and give them a good scolding. Jaz and Zed burst laughing after watching them get scolded by Ray.

"That training, why do you want to master it so bad?"

"I don't want to be a burden to Ray I want him to focus on the front without worrying too much about me"

"I see, that's why you really committed in this training, hm after I saw you train with Ray, my instinct constantly saying befriend with them they're a good person, So I might give my answer today"

But an unexpected event happen, a rain of fireball magic got through the barrier and destroying the human house.

"It's an attack!"

One of the guard immediately alert the kingdom by ringing the emergency bell and the person who responsible for deactivating the barrier has been caught but soon after that he comit suicide by exploding himself.

The kingdom's army start to evacuate citizens and got into a formation to strike back. the unknown armies manage to close the distance between them and the kingdom. While approaching towards the kingdom they all shout the same phrase.

"ALL HAIL THE KING!"

The human armies tries to hold them back but little by little the unknown armies manage to slip through and if they get caught. They will shout a same phrase and explode themselves.

Ray and his friends know what is that creature and they immediately headed towards the human armies to support them.

"ALL HAIL THE KING!"
