3.- The Dinner

The flowers evoke feelings like love, gratitude and joy, at this moment I felt in every way. I felt happy because she was, grateful that she chose me among all of us and was totally and hopelessly in love.

That moment was interrupted by her parents who were coming towards us united by their arms, her father was delicately holding her mother as if she was going to break, that reminded me too much of my parents.

-Well, but look at that handsome boy- exclaimed Annah's mother.

Although I was a little surprised, I remembered what I had been rehearsing and I extended the bouquet of flowers - For you,my name is Julen, Julen Sallow - I said in a calm tone, although I was a little nervous and I think Annah noticed it because she held my hand.

-They are very beautiful flowers- she said, looking at the bouquet of red roses covered with black paper and a golden bow, -I haven't been given flowers in a long time- she said, emphasizing "a long time" - my name is Ailee Callen, I am Anna's mother - she said I took her hand that she had extended to me earlier.

-A pleasure- I said as politely as I could her father came threateningly towards me and extended his hand to me I approached, took it back and shook it gently.

-Victor Callen was pleased- he said with a deep and threatening voice I gathered all the courage I had to answer him.

- Julen Sallow a pleasure- I said in a calm tone while he came too close to me and kept his gaze fixed and made me very nervous, although it was totally logical. That man with a very rough face, but still pleasant to look at, he gave off his masculinity from the expensive black suit with the red tie and a small handkerchief of the same color as the tie, right now I regretted not wearing mine, but despite all the rudeness in him, his eyes were the same color as Annah's and gave off a certain kindness just like her, his well-groomed hair was too much like Annah's.

While on the other hand his mother had long blond hair with a beautiful red dress that matched Mr. Callen's suit, but in the end another boy with blond hair and a navy blue suit dress arrived holding the hand of a girl with blond hair in a purple dress who was betting they were twins because they were really identical and they both smiled at the situation i was in with Mr. Callen.

-Dad lets the poor guy break his back if he keeps leaning back- mentioned the girl as she pulled Mr. Callen's arm. He grabbed his daughter by the arm, but he still had his eyes fixed on me so he just came closer this time without being threatening and took the hand if it was free.

-You're a good kid," he said with a friendly smile to which I bowed in appreciation. "Meet Annah's brothers, Jan and Eleine- he said, pointing to both of them who just walked in, who both greeted me in a friendly way and I greeted them in the same way that Annah whispered to me that they were twins and I whispered to her that I thought so and we both laughed. Mr. Callen gave us the signal to follow him and so we arrived at what I assumed was the dining room, it was a long table with 10 chairs and above us there was a very beautiful chandelier, I don't think that if I work all my life I could afford something like that.

They all sat down and Annah pulled me to sit next to her. Dinner was normal and I ate food that I would have thought existed in my life.Although I didn't know why there was so much silverware, I was afraid of the amount of it and I didn't know what most of it was for. Annah helped me with that, I thanked her internally for that because I was afraid I would make a fool of myself, but when dessert arrived Annah's dad turned to see me, I left my dessert and turned to see him and he began to talk to me.

-And tell me how you and Annah met? - he said intrigued he didn't really blame him there wasn't even a way for us to cross paths by accident

-Well, Briana introduced us- I said for sure what she answered even though they looked confused

-And how do you and Briana know each other? - Jan asked

-Well Briana is my best friend Elian's girlfriend, Briana took Annah to a futbal game that my brother and Elian were participating in- I said for sure

-We've seen Briana's boyfriend a couple of times, but I had no idea they were friends- she said politely

-If Elian and I have been friends since we were children- I said laughing to him

-Exactly since when? - said Mr. Callen

-Since we are 6 years old- I kindly told him

-Do you play any sports? -Or how did you meet at a futball game? - He said something serious to which I was very nervous. I wouldn't know how he would react if I told him that I was only reading, but Annah only held my hand and apparently knew what I was thinking and only moved her mouth saying "Okay".

-I'm not afraid that day I only went to support my brother and Elian, I have other interests and I don't like that very much- -I said smiling shyly

-Like what? - said Mr. Callen smiling, but not out of kindness but because there was a certain touch of malice in his tone

-Dad, stop it.- Annah seriously said that her dad was not interested in Annah's complaint, but I answered anyway

-Literature and mechanics- I honestly said, but the confused faces made me think about how to make the explanation longer -Well literature is because my parents are fanatics of any mythology and with that we grow up in my house and mechanic is because my dad thinks it's funny they taught my sister and me to fix the car's engine I guess those are our family Fridays- I said smiling, but scratching my neck with nervousness

-Boy- said Mr. Callen seriously as he stood up and walked towards me. -I like you too much,- he said, beginning to smile as did Annah and her family, adding that my soul had returned to my body.
