10.- The Revelation

With college entrance some things changed and some things stayed the same. One of the things that changed was that I had to move into some dorms near the school and my roommate luckily if you want to interpret it that way was Elian. That brings me to the things that stayed the same and that was that Elian was still the center of attention everywhere he went people were looking for him and even the school's futbol team went to recruit him when you usually have to try out and I was partly proud of my friend and like in high school he had a line of girls behind him, but that line was short lived because Briana stopped him.

Sometimes I doubted whether my friend was too dumb or too nice since he couldn't stop them earlier. On the other hand, you could say that I was climbing a bit in the social hierarchy of the school since I wasn't as popular as Elian, but I wasn't invisible like in high school either and for me it didn't matter since I had Annah by my side and the rest stopped making sense. It sounded kind of corny, but for the two of us at least that's how it was when we finished our classes we would meet somewhere and just hang out, that's how the first months of college had passed.

But it got a bit complicated because we were in exam time and we didn't have the same time to see each other, so for a few weeks we didn't know anything about each other. So we had some fights that were settled faster than I thought.

Today was another one of those days when I was just studying and next to me, to my surprise, Elian was also studying. We had been studying for about an hour without saying a word, just in our books until he broke the silence.

-I can't study anymore buddy- he said throwing his head back -my brain will explode any minute if I keep putting information in it-

-I know it's too much, but you need the grade to make the futbol team, don't you? - I said

-Yes, but I can't do it anymore- he said getting up from his desk to go to his bed -Dude, what if you study for both of us?

-Don't count on me- I said to throw a pillow at him I was about to throw something else at him until they knocked on the door I was going to open it, but they slid something under the door it was an envelope with my name on it I picked it up and opened the door to see if I could see who had left it, but no one was there I closed the door and sat back down at my desk to look at the envelope.

-Hey, who was it? - he said intrigued by what just happened he even got up and walked straight to me.

-I don't know, they just left this- I said showing him the envelope.

-Well open it,- he said pulling his chair to my side and that's what I started to do I tore the top and threw what was inside on the table I was scared when I saw what it was and when I turned to see Elian he also looked upset.

Inside the envelope there were many pictures of Annah with someone else another boy and they looked a little close I took the sheet of paper with the pictures and read it the letters were magazine and newspaper clippings it said "while you study for your exams someone else studies your girl".

-Dude, what is this?- said Elian as he watched me take the photos and leave only one on the desk while I crumpled and tore the others and then threw them in the trash. It reminded me of what had happened years ago -You don't think Annah is cheating on you, do you? - he said a little worried

-I'm sure that's not it- I said to walk to the exit of our bedroom.

-Where are you going?- he said worried

-I' ll be back in a moment- I said to start running to one of the main buildings to take one of the phones and dial home if it was true what I feared was coming back the line went dead and I heard my mother's voice.

-Hello? - she said

-Hello mom- I said calmly so as not to worry her.

-Hi honey what's up? is everything ok? -

-I just need to talk to Gina, could you get her for me? - I said

-Of course- she said, so that later the speaker could hear her shouting at my sister. It took a while, but finally Gina picked up the phone.

-Hello brother, what's up? - she asked

-Gina, they came back- I said scared

-What do you mean they came back? Are you talking about them? The ones who want to hurt you? I thought you haven't heard from them for the last two years?-

-I thought so too, but they just gave me an envelope that had a similar smell to the package they sent me the day they met Annah in this package this person claims that Annah is cheating on me, but the pictures look the same as the ones in that package and one has the face crossed out like the ones from that time I don't want to come to this conclusion Gi, but I think they really came back -I said very upset.

-Brother don't panic the best thing to do is to act as if that will affect you in case someone is watching you, but stay close to Annah so you can see if there is anyone suspicious of having someone near her to take those pictures of her- she said in a calm voice, the truth was surprised because even though she knows all the details she was still focused and calm if I wasn't so scared I would tell her that I am very proud of her.

-But what if they are like Beck and Alice? How can I stopthem? -

-I'll be honest I don't think you can stop someone like your friends, but actually your advantage is that you know what they are going to do and they don't know about the support you are getting, take advantage of that," she said and she was right my best card was that no one except my sister and I knew about Alice and Beck apart from the visions I had, but then I remembered in more detail the dream I had where I saw Annah and that's when I understood everything.
