JACOB

The next day, Hana came to the cafe with beaming smile which was comparable to the brightest light bulb they had inside the store.

This time, she was wearing a blue mini-skirt, white blouse with an over coat, and a brown ankle boots. Of course, her bag will never be absent.

She was rather bold in bringing her sketch material now since Jacob agreed to let her sketch the cafe.

'Heh! Did he really think that I will just draw the cafe? He has no idea I will be sketching him, too.' Hana giggled at her own thoughts as she pushed open the cafe door.

The wind chimes created a melodic sound when she opened the door and stepped in. Jacob saw her and frowned.

"Didn't I tell you have a day off today? Why are you here?" He scolded her knowing that she had been working hard this past few days. He wanted her to get some rest and let her body adjust to the work yet, she came with smile plastered on her face.

Hana could feel several eyes looking at her both from the other staff and the customers. She placed her bag on a vacant couch and sat. With her chin placed on the heel of her palm she said, "I am not here to work but to be a customer and to draw the cafe."

"Draw the cafe?" Jacob asked with a raised brow.

"Hey boss! Don't you dare take back your words. You told me I can draw the cafe!" she was rather alarmed and agitated with the thought that he would really take back his words.

Jacob smiled after teasing her for a while. He clearly remembered that he agreed to let her draw but he pretended he did not. Seeing her agitation was fun to his sight.

"Fine. Fine. I remember it now. Go ahead and do your stuff."

"Then, I'll borrow Lily for a short while. Very very short. Boss, please watch over my things."

She didn't even wait for Jacob to reply as she dragged Lily out of the cafe. Their cafe was situated near two different universities which was why they were abundant in customers. Most of them were female. Why? Obviously because of the owner.

Jacob was a 25-years-old guy who graduated from Hotel and Restaurant Management course. He always wanted to have his own cafe whe he was young so, despite the objections of his parents, he still pursued his dream.

Watching him grow and become successful, his parents stopped forcing him with their chosen path. They just let him do whatever he loves doing. He was the youngest out of four siblings and the only boy at that which was the reason he was cared so much by his family.

He wasn't someone arrogant given that they can be considered wealthy. His mother was a Science professor in Elite High School and his father is a doctor. His eldest sister works abroad as a manager of a telecommunication company. His second-elder sister was a doctor like his father as well. The youngest girl in the family, who was 3 years older than him, got married at a young age of nineteen. Now, she's got a cute little girl sending waves of happiness to their family.

Most of the time, Jacob would be at the kitchen teaching the chef how to do this or do that. He would experiment new products and he didn't really like to socialize with everyone.

For some, he was rather cold like a robot but not arrogant. Others would say he looked rather cool and professional.

However, his new employee just made him watch over her things! The nerve!

Jacob's mouth twitched as she watch Hana dragging Lily outside of the cafe. The staff and customers were watching him for his next move but he didn't disappoint everyone. He left and went back to work.

Left? How could he do that? In the end, he stayed at the counter where he can still work and watch over her things at the same time.

Sometimes, he would watch Hana who was directing Lily to stand somewhere. She looked really jolly and obviously, she enjoyed what she was doing. Jacob can see himself in her who loves to do whatever she wanted to do despite him saying "NO" to her.

Unknowingly, a smile appeared on his lips while he watch her from afar. The single female customers immediately took out their phones and secretly captured his smile.

'A miracle has happened! The boss smiled!' Not only the staff but the customers thought of this, too.

And because it was very rare to happen, they didn't tell Jacob at all. 'Let our eyes feast over this once in a life time smile.' Everyone else had the same thought.

After Hana finished whatever she wanted Lily to do, she came back to the cafe with excitement and found no one watching over her things.

"Hey boss! You didn't watch over my things?" Hana asked with aggrieved tone that the staff didn't know where she got it. She was really something! They never saw anyone ordering their boss around until she came.

"I have work so I can only watch over your things from the counter." Jacob answered indifferently and continued to do his work.

"Oh? You did? That's...that's...never mind. Thanks." She was so casual in talking to him like they were a long time friends. It's really a miracle that their boss didn't fire her.

She went back to the couch where she placed her things and called Lily. "I'm a customer today so I want to get..." she mumbled three different kind of desserts and a two different chocolate drink. "One of the drinks is for you and one of the desserts is for you as well. Just chose whatever you want and send me the rest."

"Alright. Thanks for this Hana."

"Sure sure." Hana just smiled while pulling her sketchpad out of her bag.

"What about me? You made me watch over your things after all."

The room sank in silence after Jacob spoke. Even Lily stopped walking and stared at him with her lower jaw on the ground.
