The Noise in a Silent Room

I tried to be the one who breaks the silence as it seems those three wouldn't dare to speak first, "Ms. Hart, to what do I owe the pleasure of your visit tonight?" I smile sweetly with a hint of professionalism and it seems that that is enough to break those three in their trance. I know that Lonia is a bit shock with this I feel proud when she makes this cute face with a very sweet smile showing how innocent can she get. "I would like to go through with you about some details regarding the current design of some rooms and father also wants me to look at how you are coping up here, I hope you don't mind the intrusion."

I laugh lightly about her reply, "President Hart really doesn't have to, it might be a little tough to get used to a new place, and of course, you are always welcome to visit." I then take a glimpse of the twins beside me listening to our conversation and staring at the girl in front of me. "Oh, Ms. Hart this is Calvin and Curtis Smith and Calvin and Curtis this is Ms. Lonia Hart." I tried introducing them to each other.

And what takes me by surprise is that Lonia is the first to offer her hand to shake and followed by the twins. She's acting very professional towards them and this makes me laugh but I'm trying my best not to. "Uhm, why not we talk inside? And it seems like I ruin your night so I want to make up for it, you can have dinner here, I hope Ms. Hart wouldn't mind." Lonia is still in her professional mode so he just smiles and says she doesn't mind. The twins just follow us inside without saying a word.

And I'm not that dense to not feel how thick the atmosphere is. "I hope you don't mind waiting at the kitchen table, I'll just whip up a quick meal. How about pasta skillet?" I think Lonia realizes where I am going with this as she smiles at me brightly and both of her hands grab mine, "Ms. KD can you teach me how to cook that, someone I know really loves that dish."

Lonia just earns herself a pat on the head for getting it and I just smile at her sheepishly, "Who? Kyle Anderson? Your boyfriend, right?" Hearing that Lonia blushes, "Yeah, I kinda did something bad and he said that it's not my fault. Even do so, I feel guilty so I want to do something special for him."

"You know he's madly in love with you so I bet anything you'll do will be very special." That just makes Lonia blushes more if that's even possible. "Yeah, he's mad alright." I hear one of the twin's whisper. We've arrived at the kitchen and I begin preparing the ingredients needed. "What about you guys do you have anyone special?"

Curtis smirks and looks at Lonia and Lonia just averts her gaze, "Yes, perhaps maybe you know her." Wow, he doesn't even try to deny it. "Yeah, maybe I know her. Can you tell me her name if you don't mind?" This time it's Calvin's turn to answer me, "Oh don't mind it, she has someone right now. It'll be a big trouble if she'll know it."

Do you really think she doesn't have any clue about that? Why do you think she's pleading me with her eyes to cook faster so that I could get rid of both of you? As soon as I served the dish everyone is quiet and is eating peacefully until Lonia's phone rang. "I need to take this, will you excuse me?" she excused and I just smile at her and nod then she leaves the room.

As soon as she leaves the room one of the boys starts asking questions. "KD how do you get to know Ms. Hart?" Calvin asks. Of course, this doesn't take me by surprise as I can easily tell that they miss the girl. Even though we don't plan for these demons to find any relation between KD and my friends and so as Kendall but accidents like this are bound to happen. So I can say that we prepare for the worst if this happened.

"I was about to be adopted by Ms. Hart's friend, the Andersons, but an accident happen that kills my supposed to be parents and sister. I only heard the news as I was in the UK at that time. A relative then takes care of me there and not sooner I met Ms. Hart as she is very close to the son of whom takes care of me." The twins listen to my story carefully as they hear the name Andersons and kept looking at each other.

Meanwhile, I pretend to be a petty person who is sad from all this and just looking at the plate not having a bite. Or I really am I petty person, still can't forget the said accident. Most of what I said really is not a lie. For example, the accident. My family does die in an accident and I witness every second of it. I then shake my head trying to cheer myself up and smile at the twins. "Sorry about that, I don't mean to bring a sad story, haha."

"No, it's your story and we don't have a right to judge it." Calvin smiles sincerely. Yeah right! If only you know the reason why they died. Oh right, you all knew but pretended it never happened! There's no hint of guilt or whatsoever. You all just forget that. I clenched my fist under the table and was about to speak when Lonia enters the room.

"KD, Kyle called and asked if the designs are approved so they can move to the next phase," Lonia ask shyly probably thinking that she interrupted something. I look at the twins and they both smile at me. "Don't mind us KD, it's also getting late so we need to get going." "Thanks for the food, it's delicious" Curtis wink as he said that and he followed it with, "I hope we can be friends." I make a subtle glance at Lonia and she just smiles at me. Probably congratulating me as another phase of our plan works.

"Of course, you both save me tonight. If it wasn't for you I was probably.." I can't finish the sentence as I remember what happened earlier. Calvin comes closer to me and ruffles my hair. "Don't think of that guy. We're friends now just call us if you need some help." I don't know why but as soon as he said that the same pair of cold eyes from my memory appears. I can't help but smile bitterly, I hope they didn't notice that as I smile and thank them for that.

Me and Lonia escort them outside and watch them as their car disappear in the distance. Lonia look at me curiously and cautiously, "So, what happened?"
