At Green Villa.
Ava called and informed Mrs. Lee that she would not go back to the villa tonight and settled down on the living room couch of her home. After spending the whole afternoon with the girls and Sam, Ava's mood has improved a lot and she was a bit relaxed now.
"Sarah, Ava, have you had dinner?" Lily came out of the kitchen with a bowl of fruit salad.
"Yes, Auntie we already ate outside," Sarah said vaguely as she put the snacks into her mouth.
In this family, Lily and James regarded Sarah as their own child and they loved her very much. The family of four at that moment was sitting in the living room and watching TV. The scene looked very pleasant.
Lily suddenly turned the TV on mute and said solemnly "Ava, I need to tell you something."
"What it is mom?" Ava put a watermelon in her mouth, thinking it's so good to be at home.
"Ethan Smith, the heir of Smith's group, just returned from the US after completing his study. I was thinking maybe you two should meet, you know as both of you studied abroad you might find many things common." Lily winked at James to help her out with the conversation. However, James acted like he didn't see it and kept quiet.
"What do you mean, Mom?" Ava pursed her lips sat on the couch straight and looked at her father in confusion.
James sighed and said "Well, your Aunt Annie wanted to set you up for a blind date with the heir of Smith group. Your mother has known her for a long time and was a good friend of her so she could not refuse and agreed to the blind date." James finished looking a bit embarrassed. He didn't like the idea of interfering with his daughter's dating life.
"Mom! Don't you know how Aunt Annie is, she runs a match-making agency. Of course, she will try to do match-making with anyone who was single. How could you agree with her? This is not fair, I'm not interested in dating anyone right now." Ava said in a tone that was a bit angry and a bit frustrated.
Her current situation was too complicated, she had just broken up with Jacob a while back and was now living with Oliver, how could she go on a blind date with another man. Besides she was not ready for any relationship at this moment and when she will be ready she wanted to find her partner on her own, not through some kind of blind date.
"Ava, don't get Aunt Annie wrong, she is a kind-hearted woman. She was really worried about you and just wanted you to get over your past relationship as early as possible. When she found Ethan's information, she thought he would be a good match for you. He is good-looking, mature, reliable and very polite. It won't hurt to see him just once, right!" Lily said in a soft tone. She really wanted her daughter to go on this date.
Ava felt a headache was coming, she couldn't take her mom's nagging anymore so she decided to agree for now "Well, mom, stop it. I'll go this time but please don't set me up for any more blind dates in the future." She said annoyed.
"Next Wednesday, Crystal Street Starbucks, 5.00 PM." Lily smoothly reported the location of the blind date ignoring Ava's annoyance, She was really happy that Ava agreed.
Ava held her forehead and sighed heavily. Suddenly her phone started to ring.
Sarah glanced at Ava's phone and saw it was Sam, she smiled knowingly.
"Sarah, did you like the fruits?" James turned his attention to Sarah from the mother and daughter.
"Yes uncle, the watermelon is delicious, it's very sweet," Sarah said as she stuffed watermelon into her mouth.
Ava got up from the couch and went back to her room to answer the phone. She went to the bed directly without even turning on the lights. The moment she lay down, she sighed heartily, 'It's so comfortable.'
"Ava, are you home?" Sam's soft voice sounded on the phone.
"Well yes, we are home. What about you?"
"I just dropped Amy and now on the way to my place," Sam said with a smile.
"Ah? You're still driving then why did you call, it's dangerous to drive and talk on the phone." Ava said worriedly.
"What! Are you worried about me?" Sam teased.
"Of course, you are my friend and it's normal to be worried about you," Ava said casually. She was embarrassed by his teasing but she didn't show it in her tone.
"Don't worry, I'm a good driver and right now I am waiting at the signal. I just wanted to ask you, if we could catch a movie sometimes again?" Sam said holding the steering wheel, he was so nervous his palms were sweating.
Ava did not hesitate, she said with a smile: "Sure, why not, we are friends after all."
Sam smiled hearing Ava, he felt relieved. Sam always liked Ava, when she was in junior high he really wanted to ask her out but never had the courage to do so, besides he thought they were still young and he had time to ask her out later. However, later Jacob came into the picture and he never got a chance but now that fate has brought them back in front of each other again he would not chicken out this time. Although they are just friends now but Sam was very keen to take it further.
"Well, have a good rest. Good night." Sam said softly.
"Good night, Sam. Drive safe."
Just as Ava hang up on Sam's call her phone start to ring again, looking at the caller ID Ava got a little nervous.
"Who were you talking to just now? I have been calling for the last 10 minutes and it was busy." Oliver was a little annoyed.
"I was talking to a friend," Ava said, She was a little upset hearing his tone. She didn't like his attitude toward her, she was not his pet she had a life and friends why couldn't she talk to her friend whenever she wanted. He was too possessive.
"Ava! What's there to talk to for more than ten minutes with a friend? Don't tell me you're looking for another man behind my back." Oliver said in a warning tone.
"What! Mr. Knight are you crazy? I cannot even handle one annoying person like you, let alone another." Ava pouted as she turned on the light of her bedroom.
"You think I am annoying?" Oliver asked frowning slightly, his confidence quiver a little at her words. After his ex-girlfriend, Oliver never chased any woman. It was the women who always chased him. But now that he took the initiative to pursue Ava, she was saying he was annoying. Oliver's ego was hurt.
Hearing Oliver's questions, Ava wanted to slap herself, why did she say that out loud?
"Mr. Knight, What are you talking about, I didn't mean it that way, of course, you are not annoying," Ava said in a soft and sweet tone.
Hearing her soft and flirty tone Oliver decided to let it go and he asked changing the subject. "Are you at Green Villa tonight?"
"Yes CEO Knight, I am back at my parents," Ava said respectfully.
Oliver's eyes become darker, this woman really had a strange way of addressing him. She would sometimes call him Mr. Knight, sometimes CEO Knight, why couldn't she address him the way he actually wanted her to? 'If she was in front of him right now then he would teach her a lesson for addressing him like this, Oliver thought.
"Call me Oliver," Oliver ordered. He really didn't like it, when she called him so formally. Perhaps in his heart, Ava had already occupied a very important position.
Ava choked and coughed twice awkwardly before finally saying: "Oliver."
Her voice was very low but Oliver heard it. He was very satisfied. He looked out of the window with a smile and said, "Good girl! Wait for me to come back."
"Ok," Ava said obediently.
Listening to her answer, Oliver's smile grew wider and wider, "Good night."
"Good Night." Ava softly replied then hang up the phone.
