Sarah came to Ava's bedroom with a playful smile on her face and asked "Sis who were you talking to just now, you were talking so softly?"
"Don't talk nonsense, have you finished your homework?" Ava tried to change the subject.
However Sarah wouldn't let go that easily, she saw earlier that Sam had called so she just assumed Ava was still talking to him when she came in.
She said nosily "Oh, come on sis, you can tell me it was Mr. Evan, wasn't it? Don't try to deny it I saw he called you. So tell me do you like him? Are you two going to date?" Sarah was gossiping like a curious teenager.
Being questioned by her cousin like that Ava felt helpless. She couldn't tell her that she was not talking to Sam just now. She couldn't tell her about Oliver either so she decided to lead the conversation toward her study, she suddenly sat up on her bed and with a cunning smile on her face she said: "I think I need to talk to your department head, your teachers probably going too easy on their students and giving you guys very little homework and that's why you have so much free time to spend on stupid gossips. Do you want me to arrange that?"
Stumped by her cousin like that Sarah cried out "Ava, please don't!"
Seeing Sarah acting so coquettish Ava's heart soften she put a hand on her head and said gently "Don't gossip like a child, Me and Sam are just friends, there is no possibility to become anything else, don't think too much, ok?"
"But sis I think he likes you?" She murmured in a low voice, she was very disappointed hearing Ava, she was really hoping for them to get together.
"Enough! You thought it wrong. Now go and change, get ready to go to bed. It's already very late." Ava ended the conversation.
The next day, Ava stayed in bed for a long time, while Sarah got up early to study her English paper.
Ava saw Sarah was reading her English book when she opened her fuzzy eyes. She sat up on the bed, her hair was a bird's nest on her head, she suddenly asked, "Sarah, do you want to study abroad?"
"No, I don't," Sarah replied immediately without even thinking.
"Why not?"
"I like it here and I don't want to live far away from uncle and aunty." Sarah closed her book and sat down on the bed.
"Sarah, I heard that there are several boys in your class who were pursuing you," Ava asked lightly. She was worried about her, she thought it's too early to get entangled in relationships, it could affect her study.
Sarah's eyes were full of calculation. She nuzzled and said, "Did Mr. Evan told you this?"
"Maybe."
"Well, yes, there were some boys who chased me but I refused them, I don't want to get involve in any relationship right now, so don't worry about it, my dear sis." Sarah clarified it honestly.
"That's good, Sarah! It's for the best I think. You should focus on your study right now after graduation you can start dating." Ava advised gently.
"I know Ava, Thanks", Sarah smiled.
"Ava, are you and Jacob really over just like that?" Sarah was silent for a while before she asked hesitantly.
"Yes, it's over," Ava said with a forced smile on her face. The sadness was clear in her beautiful hazel eyes.
She didn't tell her parents about her visit to Jacob and about his parents. Jacob did all for revenge and now it's over and so was their relationship. She suddenly thought of something and took out her laptop from her side table. She opened her laptop and deleted all the emails and photos of her and Jacob from the Laptop. She got all the reasons she needed and now was ready to let go of Jacob. From now on she had nothing to do with him.
However she couldn't help but wonder, if her father didn't take over Adam's group his parents might still be alive and he wouldn't end up in the prison, like this, he probably would be living a happy life with his parents, thinking about it Ava felt a little guilty.
Sarah looked at her action and felt a bit puzzled, does love end just by deleting the pictures and emails? She knew even though Ava said it was over but it's not that easy to erase all the memories of him just like that, it will take time to forget, to heal her heart. She sighed but didn't say anything.
In the afternoon, Ava sent Sarah back to her school and went for shopping with Mia. She didn't want to go back to Oliver's villa so early. There she felt like a precious canary in that gorgeous villa, it was not a home, but a cage for her.
When Ava reached the plaza she saw Mia was standing at the entrance with 2 glasses of juice in her hand. She rushed toward her and took one glass from her smiling and asked: "Why are you standing outside, it's very hot out here.
"Well, I was just waiting for you, what took you so long?" Mia said hooking her arm around Ava's.
"I had to drop off my cousin at school," Ava said.
"Oh, Ok. Hey did you hear that the intern at the hospital is going to have an assessment next month? I am feeling very nervous about it" Mia said worriedly.
"Come on, have some faith in yourself Mia you will be fine, you are already one of the best. Don't worry about it at all." Ava said confidently.
"Thanks, Ava, you're so kind. Let's go check out the new skincare products, I heard that they are really good" Mia said dragging her towards the shop.
"Let's go then," Ava said laughing.
