The Operation

Mia's heart felt a bit uncomfortable with the possibility of Sarah's kidnapping so she decided to listen to the girl and talk to Ava. "Little girl, what's your name?"

"My name is Amy Stan. Doctor Green knows me well, in fact, we had dinner together the other night." Amy explained quickly.

"OK, come with me." Mia quickly took Amy to the elevator.

In the operating room, Ava was having a very critical operation of a patient's second heart transplant and Charlie was assisting her. The anesthesiologist Dr. Tyson was also present there. As the operation was very complicated and something that had never been done before in this hospital so many doctors from the cardiology department were present outside the OT including Dean Davis.

Every doctor's operation method was different. Ava was a student of a very famous cardiologist in the world. Her name was Lin Yi. Ava was her closed disciple so she captured Lin Yi's operation method to a great extent. When Ava conducted her first surgery at school, she was so nervous that she went into shock when she took the scalpel in her hand. She was shaking miserably, at that time Li Yi helped her and encouraged her to overcome her fears. In fact, she would always let Ava accompany her to any operation whether it was big or small to build up her confidence.

Not only that when Lin Yi heard Ava wanted to come back home and join the Beijing Tiantan Hospital, she personally called the dean and recommended Ava. Ava now felt very grateful towards her because if she didn't personally teach her and gave her more opportunities to practice then she wouldn't be this good today and wouldn't have the confidence to carry on such a high-risk operation.

Dean Davis stood there with the other doctors and watching Ava doing the operation at a steady pace on the big screen outside the operating theatre. He praised Ava in his mind thinking she was indeed very talented. No other doctor would have the courage to take this high-risk patient but she fearlessly took it as a challenge. She surely didn't let him down, he was now certain his decision to make her the department head was absolutely correct!

The onlookers of other departments also admired Ava's confidence and skills. She looked very stable and decisive with the scalpel in hand. Even several famous surgeons in the hospital couldn't help but admire her. She was only 24 years old and already became the department head. In fact, Ava was the youngest director of cardiology in the whole city.

While the operation was still in progress, Mia came to the floor where Ava was and saw through the transparent door that her operation was running live today and many doctors including the Dean was watching it from outside. She knew she couldn't talk to Ava at this moment. Mia felt very anxious her intuition told her the girl was not lying but Ava was still in surgery so they couldn't do anything but wait for her to come out.

Mia sighed and patted on Amy's shoulder gently then said helplessly, "Amy I am sorry but the operation Doctor Green is doing today is an important one, we can't call her out right now, we have to wait until she was done."

Amy's face fall immediately, she looked at Mia, and with tears in her eyes, she asked, "Sister then what do I do now? Should I go to the police?"

Mia thought about it and said, "No, we can't go to the police, they won't be able to help until the kidnaper contacts us, besides it might make things worse for Sarah. So we have no other choice but to wait."

Mia waited there for another 10 minutes and said to Amy, "Listen, I have to go back to my department now. If you need me, you can find me on the 24th floor of the inpatient department. Don't worry you wait here, she will be out in an hour."

Amy nodded: "OK."

On the other part of the city,

The silver van sped up on the street of a city and finally took a path leading to the mountains. After driving for almost an hour on the road of the mountains, the van stopped in front of an old abandoned factory, which had been empty for a while now. The three men took Sarah out of the car and carried her inside the factory. Sarah was still unconscious.

The air in the old factory smelled damp and rust making it disgusting. Kiara and her stepmother Lucy had been waiting there anxiously for more than half an hour.

"Mom, why aren't they here yet?" Kiara stood there holding her nose with a handkerchief, because of the smell she was disgusted and becoming more impatient every minute. She just wanted things to be over and get out of there as soon as possible.

"Be patient, they will be here soon." This was also Lucy's first time doing such things, she was anxious too, her heart was pounding on her chest, but in order to not make Kiara nervous, she was pretending to be calm.

While the vicious mother and daughter were comforting each other they heard the rush footsteps in the factory. Lucy immediately turned to have a look and saw, it was the man she hired to kidnap Sarah and looking at his relaxed expression she knew they have succeeded.

Lucy turned to Kiara and said, "They are here."

The leader of the gang called Johnny came toward the two women holding Sarah on his back. "Sister Lucy, we have brought the girl as you asked."

"Thank you, Johnny. You can go now, we'll take care of the rest." Lucy said with a warm smile, then took out a pile of cash from her handbag, and handed it to him.

Johnny took the money, and a ruffian smile appeared on his face. "Sister Lucy, thank you, let me know if you have any more jobs in the future. You can always count on me."

"I know Johnny if I didn't trust you enough I wouldn't have given you the job," Lucy said with a serious face.

Johnny took out an injection from his pocket and injected it on Sarah and said, "She will wake up in half an hour, you must hurry. We will be outside."
