The broken mood

Ava was sitting by the sea and the wind was blowing her hair softly. She took off her shoes and sink her feet in the warm water. She didn't even notice when her tops got wet by the tears that were falling continuously from her beautiful eyes. Ava felt like she has been betrayed by Oliver. He lied to her and went out with Kiara. Although she didn't know if they were still together or not but she was at the office the whole afternoon that meant she was there when Oliver sent her the text. So he was deceiving her. Why does she feel worst than the time when she found Jacob with poppy in his apartment?

Ava stayed at the same place lost in her thoughts. The sunset quietly and the orange sky gradually became dark. Ava wiped her tears and took out her phone. It's been three hours since he texted her to let her know he wouldn't come home for dinner. He didn't call or text her even once in these three hours. If he had already gotten home then he would have called her to know where she was, which meant he didn't go home yet. All kinds of emotions were making Ava's heart restless. Maybe what people say about them was true, they were not right for each other and Oliver didn't really love her.

Suddenly Ava's phone vibrated, she looked at it and saw Sam sent her a message to ask what she was doing. Ava's heart felt even more lost and her mood completely broke. She didn't want to reply to him because she really didn't want him to hang on to her but she also promised him that they will stay friends so out of politeness, Ava replied, "Watching TV.".

Soon another message came from Sam: "What are you watching on TV?"

Ava looked at the WeChat but this time she didn't reply to his message. She just ignored it.

Kiara's Apartment.

Kiara was very busy in the kitchen. She was almost done with her cooking and was just waiting for the last pot of soup in the kitchen.

Oliver was sitting quietly on the sofa and looking at his phone. When Kiara came out of the kitchen and saw Oliver sitting that way, she suddenly felt at home. In a flash, Oliver had transformed from a sunny boy into a very mature man. His charm has radiated more over time. If this man could always stay by her side, how nice that would be?

Oliver was like a sculpture sitting there quietly, even if he didn't say anything, it would still make people feel pleasant. Kiara now finally understood how deeply infatuated she was with him.

Seeing that he was on his phone, Kiara didn't bother him. She turned and went into the kitchen again to get the soup. Kiara carefully brought out the pork chop soup and placed it in the middle of the seven dishes. She made all the dishes that Oliver liked to eat tonight. As Oliver loved Dongpo meat, Kiara especially learned to cook this dish from her stepmother. She didn't like to eat greasy fat meat but because of Oliver, she also fell in love with this dish. That's how love works. For your loved ones you would eventually change your preference and habits.

"Oliver, the food is ready." Kiara walked toward Oliver and said softly.

Oliver stood up slowly with a smile he said "Wow Kiara, it's very fragrant."

"Then eat quickly. You must be very hungry." Kiara said with a coquettish smile.

Oliver, with a small smile, picked up the chopsticks and took a bite of Dongpo meat made by Kiara. Half a second later his face showed a happy smile, he gave Kiara a thumbs up and said, "Well Kiara, you're really good."

"Really? Have some more than, if you like it." Kiara said joyfully.

"It's really nice. The little girl has grown up."

"Little girl, really? You are only a few years older than me. I have grown up a long time ago." Kiara said with a pout.

"Good." Oliver smiled faintly, but there was a sadness in his eyes. Once upon a time, someone said she would cook for him all his life.

After dinner, it was over nine o'clock. Oliver and Kiara were talking and laughing happily. The atmosphere at the apartment was very pleasant.

Ava was still sitting on the Bohai Seawater bay and kept staring at the phone. Oliver still didn't go home neither did he called. Ava has been holding her phone for a few hours now and finally couldn't help but call him.

The phone rang for a while before he picked it up. Oliver was talking to Kiara when he saw Ava's phone call, he was very upset to see the call and didn't want to answer it, but Kiara was being very understanding and asked him to answer it.

"Hello Oliver, are you still working at the company?" Ava said lightly.

"Yes, go to bed." Oliver got up and walked to the balcony. It was dark outside, from the balcony the city looked dark and lonely just like Oliver's heart.

"Are you coming back tonight?" Listening to Oliver's cold voice on the phone, Ava could not hold back her tears anymore and she began to sob quietly.

Ava's cry made Oliver completely flustered. He was very afraid of Ava's tears. Even when he heard her quiet sobs, he felt anxious in his heart.

"I'll be right back. Don't cry." Oliver frowned, but he was very worried.

Ava quickly stop herself from crying and said in a hoarse voice: "What are you talking about? I am not crying, you must have heard wrong."

At that time, a couple walked past Ava, they were talking and laughing happily. From across the phone, Oliver heard the voices of strangers clearly. He was confused, it's so late, where is she? Why isn't she home?
