End of the awkward day

Ava took a shower, washed her hair, and changed her clothes. When she came out, Oliver was already waiting for her in the lounge.

"Oliver!" Ava was dressed in yoga pants and a t-shirt, she came to Oliver with a smile on her face.

Oliver was also wearing matching sports clothes from the same series. When he saw Ava finally came out, he stretched out his hand and immediately took her in the arm.

"Let's go and have lunch. You must be starving." Oliver said in a spoiled tone as he stroked her soft hair gently.

Oliver concealed his anger so deep inside him that nobody would be able to find out that he was furious just a while ago. It's as if the news about Jacob was already forgotten.

Ava obediently followed Oliver, she liked the feeling of being held by Oliver in his arms. No one could make her feel so safe and secure as Oliver did.

"Oliver, let's go back after lunch." Ava proposed with a smile.

"OK." Oliver smiled and agreed.

"What shall we eat?" Ava asked with a pout. She felt like her taste in food was becoming more and more selective these days.

"We'll eat whatever you want to eat."

At the Restaurant.

When Oliver and Ava arrived, they were the last two. The rest of them were already there. Erika and Sam were sitting together at one of the middle tables. Kiara, Jessica, and Arvin were sitting at the far back. Ava looked around and liked the exquisite and unique decoration of the restaurant.

"Oliver, let's sit here." Ava intentionally chose the seat that was close to Erika because she was sitting far away from Kiara. Ava also wanted to put as much distance as possible between them.

"Ok." Oliver like a gentleman pulled out the chair for Ava and helped her settle down then said he will get food for her.

Kiara's eyes were stuck to Oliver since he entered the restaurant, she saw him stood up from his seat and was heading toward the buffet table, she quickly moved to his side.

"Oliver, what a coincidence you're here for lunch too." Kiara smiled brightly as if she was very surprised and pleased to see him here.

Oliver was holding an empty plate and was about to pick Ava's favorite chicken on it. Hearing Kiara, he didn't even turn his head to look at her, he continued to pick food on the plate for two people. He thought to himself this was the only restaurant here if he didn't come here to eat then where would he go?

"Yes," Oliver said without any expression.

"Your favorite steak." Kiara took the initiative to pick up a piece of fresh steak to put on Oliver's plate.

However, Oliver stopped her and walked toward the corner with her where Ava could not see them then said, "Kiara, what are you doing here today?"

"I... I just wanted to see you." Kiara said in a gentle and soft voice.

"Kiara, if you don't mind please stay away from me from now on. Ava doesn't like you around me and she gets really jealous." Oliver said coldly, he didn't care about Kiara's feelings, he only cared about Ava.

Kiara's beautiful face fall at his words but she quickly composed herself and looked at him a little embarrassed. She didn't expect Oliver would say something like that to her so directly, which made her really sad and disappointed. The other day, when she came to his office and cooked for him he was clearly very caring and considerate toward her, they even talked for hours but now for that woman, he said to stay away from him. She really wanted to go to Ava and slap her hard but she endured because she knew it was a matter of time before this will be all over and Oliver will come back to her.

"OK." Kiara barely uttered the word, she felt like something was stuck on her throat.

There was a small bookcase beside the table Ava was sitting and several fashion magazines were stacked in the case. Ava was bored so she picked up one of the most popular magazines and started to flip through it.

Hans Carew was on the cover photo of the magazine, who was a newly launched star of KNIGHT International. Hans Carew was mixed-race so his skin was tan, he was very tall around 6 feet 2 inches with a built body and he was very good-looking with a sunny smile on his face. Many women were obsessed with him these days.

Ava looked at the photo and thought although he was good-looking but he looked more pretty than handsome, she would prefer Oliver over Hans at any time who was not the only killer handsome but also mature, stable, and domineering. Although Ava's eyes were fixed on the magazine, but she was thinking of Oliver and there was a smile on her face.

"What are you looking at?" Oliver brought three plates full of food for Ava and himself. From the distance, he saw Ava was looking at a magazine and smiling and he got curious why she was smiling like that.

Ava closed the magazine, looked up, and with a smile said, "Nothing, just a male artist of your company."

"Hans Carew?" Oliver glanced at the cover of the magazine with a slight cold look and asked indifferently.

"Yes." Ava put the magazine back in the bookcase.

"This issue of the magazine is out of stock." Oliver put down his plate and sat opposite Ava.

"Are you in charge of the entertainment company?" Ava chuckled.

"Not really. I don't care much about the entertainment company. Uncle Joe mostly looks after the business of it. I will give Rika the entertainment company as dowry when she gets married." Oliver said thoughtfully.

"That's really great. Rika is from the entertainment world so she would understand their business well. She will be able to handle it perfectly." Ava said as she put the food on Oliver's plate neatly.

"I know and that's why I asked her to take over the entertainment company but this girl refused directly," Oliver said and frowned a little.

On Erika's birthday last year, Oliver had transferred all the shares of the entertainment company to her, but the girl came back the next day and returned it to him.

"With a brother like you watching over, Rika is really a lucky girl." Ava looked at Oliver admiringly but her tone had a longing. If she could have such a brother then how nice it would be.

"Oh! And what do you think of having a husband like me?" Oliver suddenly asked with a mischievous smile.

"Not good," Ava said on purpose and pretended to be very serious.

Oliver's face fell and he became angry, she thinks he was not good as a husband.

"Not good, it's actually very good." Ava put pressure on the word "very" to show the importance of it.

A charming smile instantly showed up on Oliver's face but he still said in a slightly cold tone, "Looks like you still have your conscience left."

After lunch, all of them left. Sam took Erika home. Arvin left alone. Kiara and Jessica left together. And the awkward day finally ended.
