An unknown premonition

On the way home in the car.

There was a pleasant atmosphere in the car and the soft music that was playing on the radio made Ava feel very relaxed.

"Oliver, this is not the way home. Are we going somewhere else?" Ava turned and looked at Oliver.

"Yes, I want to take you somewhere."

"Where?" Ava asked curiously, thinking why didn't he tell her beforehand? Was he trying to surprise her? At that thought, she felt a little excited.

Oliver pursed his lips and his eyes become dim. The car gradually turned towards the western suburb of a city. People who were familiar with this city knew that the western suburb was a desolate area, which has not been developed yet but the largest detention center of the city was here.

Ava suddenly had an unknown premonition in her heart seeing where they were heading and her whole body became stiff. Her heart already knew the answer to where they were going, it must have something to do with Jacob.

Ava didn't tell Oliver that her father dropped the case and Jacob was released from the prison because she was afraid this news will upset him and also he might misunderstand the reason behind it. She just wanted to avoid the suspicion so she kept quiet about it.

As expected, Oliver stepped on the brakes and stopped his car at the entrance of the detention center.

Ava was feeling very nervous as she looked at Oliver.

"We are here, get out of the car." Oliver's eyes were coldly looking at her as he said in a clear voice.

"Why? Why are we here?" Ava asked with a stiff smile.

"You'll know." Before Ava could say anything else Oliver got out of the car.

Ava's heart tightened but she still stayed in the car. She was not sure why Oliver brought her here, was it because of Jacob or some other reason? She took a deep breath, hesitated for a moment then got out of the car.

"Ava, we are here to see your ex-boyfriend today," Oliver said with a strange smile on his face as he pulled Ava's weak hand.

"Oliver! What are you doing? Why?" Ava clenched her teeth and asked, how could a boyfriend take his girlfriend to see her ex-boyfriend, isn't it absurd?

"Why? Wouldn't it feel good to see how miserable he was in the prison?" Oliver's handsome face was full of smiles but the smile was very confusing to other people's eyes.

Outside it was very hot and the sun was dazzling over their head, Ava felt a little dizzy because of the heat so she said lightly, "Oliver Let's go back, I don't want to go inside."

"Why not?" Oliver asked impatiently.

"Why do we need to see him? He's just a passer-by. I am done with him, seeing him won't change anything." Ava said lowering her eyes.

"Well, I don't agree with you there, you see what I think seeing how miserable he is in here, I will feel happy and pleased." Oliver's eyes were cold and indifferent hiding everything deep inside them.

"Oliver, I really don't want to go in there, please let's just go back." Ava pleaded, she felt a little flustered. She had never imagined that Oliver would bring her to see Jacob in the prison.

"No. We are going inside." Regardless of Ava's protest, Oliver took her hand and walked toward the entrance of the detention center.

Ava got tense she knew Oliver's stubborn character and knew she had no other choice but to tell him.

She shook Oliver's arm and said, "Jacob is not here."

Finally, she told him the truth. She was very tense, if she knew this would happen then she would tell him everything earlier. Ava sighed in her heart

Oliver smiled bitterly, and that smile make him look very lonely for a moment, "if I didn't bring you here today, would you ever tell me that?"

Blood drained from Ava's face and she froze in place as she looked at his lonely face, "You knew." Ava didn't ask simply stated.

Ava's eyes become lost, she shouldn't be surprised to know that he knew, because she was well aware of Oliver's capabilities but she was still surprised. She looked at Oliver hesitantly.

"You think?" Oliver sneered. He stood in front of Ava and blocked the sun.

"When did you find out?" Ava asked lightly.

"Does it matter? You know I hate lies and deception the most and yet you cheated me by hiding it from me, why?" Oliver looked at Ava and said sharply. He was feeling betrayed.

"Oliver I didn't mean to and it's not like that," Ava said worriedly, she didn't want him to misunderstand her but she also didn't want to talk about Jacob. Those were all in the past then why should they waste time on this.

"I don't understand Ava, he hurt you like that and still you forgave him. Why?" Oliver's tone was full of blame. He shouldn't have put him behind the bars instead he should have deal with him by himself then Ava wouldn't be able to set him free.
