In the late afternoon, it was raining heavily outside and the sky turned dark grey. The typhoon hitting the city was all over the news so Ava got out of work a bit early. She didn't like this gloomy weather so she wanted to go home before the typhoon hits. As soon as she got out of the elevator she saw the bodyguards standing there, she almost forgot about them.
When the bodyguards saw Ava coming out of the elevator they all greeted her: "Good Afternoon, Miss Green."
"Have you been here all this time?" Ava saw her colleagues were looking at her strangely and she felt a bit embarrassed.
"Yes, Miss. That is our job." One of the men replied.
"OK, but you don't need to follow me around today anymore. I'm going back to the villa." Ava said with a polite smile.
"That's alright Miss, once you get inside the villa we will leave. It's Mr. Knight's order." The man said with a solemn face.
Ava said lightly. "OK, then could you please stay a little hidden so it's not obvious that you are following me."
"I'm afraid that's not possible Miss, we must not let you out of our sight so if you need help we can be there immediately."
"All right." Ava felt helpless but she knew it was necessary so she compromised.
Ava remembered it was Mrs. Lee's birthday today so she decided to buy a cake and surprise her. When she reached the cake shop, it was raining continuously outside. She looked out of the window, she hated gloomy and rainy days the most. She didn't even bring her umbrella how would she get to the shop now? Ava sighed and looked around the car and suddenly noticed a black folding umbrella was hanging at the front passenger's door.
Ava reached out to take the umbrella, it looked brand new. She wondered who left it in here, it's definitely not her umbrella. She carefully checked the umbrella and saw there was some initial engraved on it, OCK.
Oliver! He put it in here? But when?
Ava's heart felt very warm, Oliver was so thoughtful sometimes. He would always get the things for her that she easily forgets. Ava opened the door, opened the umbrella, and with quick steps got inside the shop. After buying the cake Ava didn't stop anywhere she straightway went to Oliver's Villa. The whole time her bodyguards were following her.
520 Haibin Road, Oliver's Villa.
Ava informed Mrs. Lee in the morning that she will be home tonight, so she was busy preparing dinner for her in the kitchen. As these few days Ava and Oliver were not here she didn't cook much but hearing Ava would be here tonight Mrs. Lee went to the market and bought various fresh vegetables and meats.
Ava walked into the villa with the cake in her hand. She looked around and the villa looked lonely without Oliver. Ava instantly started to miss him. Here every corner of the house was full of Oliver and her. Ava heard noises coming from the kitchen and knew Mrs. Lee was there. She carefully put the cake on the table and took it out from the box then she went to the kitchen.
"Mrs. Lee, I'm back." Ava leaned on the door frame with a smile.
"Miss Green how did you come back, it's raining so heavily outside. Didn't you get wet?" Mrs. Lee turned and looked at Ava a little surprised.
Ava walked to Mrs. Lee and said, "It was alright, the roads were not that busy. Besides Oliver left an umbrella for me in the car so I didn't get wet."
"That's great! CEO Knight is so thoughtful. Go ahead and take some rest, the dinner will be ready soon." Mrs. Lee said with a smile.
"Yes, he is!" Ava said with a smile and her eyes were very tender when she thought of Oliver.
Mrs. Lee concentrated on her cooking and thought to herself, it's really nice to see these two people fall in love with each other. She still remembered when she came into this villa for the first time, these two were like enemies and would end up fighting with each other almost every night. But now they loved and cared for each other so much that her heart felt warm looking at the loving couple.
Ava came back to the dining table and started to put candles on the cake. This year Mrs. Lee turned 49, so Ava put two candles with 4 and 9 digits and put the gifts she bought for Mrs. Lee beside the cake. Then she sat there quietly and waited for Mrs. Lee to finish her work and come out here.
After a while, Mrs. Lee came out of the kitchen with a bowl of soup in her hand. When she saw the cake on the table, she was shocked.
Mrs. Lee put down the soup and with a surprised expression on her face asked: "Miss Green, how did you know it's my birthday today?"
"Oliver told me. He said because of this business trip he couldn't be here to celebrate your birthday today and he especially asked me to came here and accompany you. Next year, you will be 50 years old and both Oliver and I will celebrate it with you."
Unconsciously Ava had planned a future with Oliver without even knowing whether they will be together or not. But she liked the idea of Oliver being there at every turn of her life.
