The Trap

"Miss Green, thank you... Thank you so much." Mrs. Lee was choked with emotion and her eyes were red and moist.

"You don't have to thank me. This is what I should do. Mrs. Lee, let's cut the cake and eat together." Ava helped Mrs. Lee bring the rest of the food to the table and sat down with her.

"Mrs. Lee, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you..." Ava sweetly sang the birthday song.

There was a storm outside but inside the villa, the atmosphere was very warm.

Mrs. Lee couldn't stop her tears, no one ever cared for her as much as Ava and Oliver did. She must have done something very good in her previous life to be able to find these two loving people in this life.

Mrs. Lee wiped her tears and said with a smile, "Miss Green, you are very kind."

Ava said gently patting Mrs. Lee's shoulder, "Mrs. Lee it's nothing. Now make a wish quickly."

Ava dimmed the light of the room and lit the candles up. Mrs. Lee closed her eyes and made a wish for Ava and Oliver to always be happy like that then she blew the candles and cut the cake. Mrs. Lee had a difficult life and no one ever bothered to bring a birthday cake for her before so she was very happy.

After cutting the cake Ava handed Mrs. Lee the gifts she bought for her. "Mrs. Lee, this is for you, the winter is coming so I brought a woolen shawl for you, it will keep you warm. And these are some stitch materials, I remember you once told me, you like to stitch so I bought them for you. I hope you like them."

With tears in her eyes and a soft smile on her lips, Mrs. Lee nodded her head and said, "Thank you, Miss Green."

Ava felt very happy seeing Mrs. Lee liked the gifts. After dinner, she sat down in the living room with Mrs. Lee and chatted for a while before she decided to call it a night. After all, Mrs. Lee was not that young and she needed to rest so she said good night to her and head upstairs to take a bath. She also wanted to go to bed early tonight.

Ava came out of the bathroom wearing Oliver's shirt. The white shirt smelled like Oliver and she sniffed and tried to imagine him wrapped around her. Her phone rang and with a smile, she picked it up and rolled on the bed.

"Hey baby, what are you doing?" Oliver asked softly.

"I just took a shower now lying on the bed. Mrs. Lee and I just celebrated her birthday, she looked really happy." Ava said with a smile.

"What did you do?" Oliver asked with interest.

"Well, I bought a cake and some gifts for her. She seems to like the gifts very much." Ava said.

"Mrs. Lee is very easy to please, I am sure she appreciates your care for her," Oliver said calmly.

"Yes, Mrs. Lee was so happy when she saw the cake, if only you were here," Ava said with a sigh. She was really missing him.

"I'll be back in three days," Oliver said lightly and his eyes become tender. He was missing her too.

"I'll wait for you," Ava said with a sweet smile.

Ava and Oliver talked for a long time that night. Ava's phone started to beep giving her a low battery warning and they had to say good night to each other.

After hanging up the phone, Ava got up to charge her phone but suddenly a call came from an unknown number. She hesitated before picking it up thinking it could be some hospital emergency.

"Hello, is this Miss Ava Green?" Ava faintly heard a man say that over the loud music in the background.

"Yes, who is this?" Ava frowned.

"I'm a waiter from blue moon night bar. Your friend Samuel Evan is very drunk here and his phone is out of battery. He gave us your number, could you please come and pick up your friend from here?" The waiter said loudly.

"Can you give him the phone please?" Ava was not stupid so how can she run to a bar not making sure if what the man said was true.

However, while she was talking to the waiter Samuel's drunken voice came to her ear, "Hey.. hey..let go of me. I... I'm not drunk."

Although through the loud noise it was difficult to hear what he said but Ava recognize his voice immediately, before she could say anything else to the waiter her phone died. Ava put her phone on charge and changed her clothes. Just yesterday Sam saved her from Ethan how could she not help him when he needed her. Thinking about it, she got out of the villa in a hurry without giving it much thought.

The storm was very fierce outside but there was no traffic so it took Ava only 20 minutes to get to the Blue moon Bar. Ava entered the bar, the music was deafening, she looked around and found Sam in the bar area.

Samuel was very drunk still he recognized Ava and asked with a smile, "Hey Av's you are here to drink with me?"

"Sam you had enough, let's go I'll take you home." Ava grabbed the bottle from Sam's hand and said angrily. She knew him well, he was not the kind to come in the bar and get drunk then what happened to him tonight?

"No, I don't want to go home. It's so lonely in there, I want to stay with you." Sam kept babbling.

"Fine. If you don't want to go home then we won't but let's get out of here first." Ava helped him to his feet and dragged him out of the place that smelled like tobacco and alcohol.

Just beside the bar, there was a hotel, so Ava decided to check him into the hotel for the night then leave as soon as possible, it's getting very late and the weather was getting worse. She didn't want to get stuck in here too.

"Hello, I would like to open a standard room please," Ava said at the front desk.

"Please give us your ID." The front desk assistant said.

Ava quickly took out her ID card from her bag, paid for the room, and dragged Sam toward the room. However, the moment she placed the keycard and opened the room door a sweet fragrance came to her nose, it was very soothing. Ava frowned and looked inside, she saw there were few candles lighted in the room. She wondered what kind of service was that but she didn't want to waste time on that she just wanted to put Sam on the bed and leave.

But Sam had something else in his mind, as soon as they entered the room Sam suddenly hugged Ava tightly and said in his drunken voice, "Ava, I love you very much. Can you please stay here with me tonight? Don't leave me alone please."

"Sam, what are you talking about. Please let go of me, don't do this." Ava immediately pushed Sam away and took a step back.

"Why Ava, what is wrong with that. I love you." Sam's face was full of grievance.

"Sam, you are drunk. We will talk when you are sober. I have to go now, it's..." Before Ava could finish that sentence she felt dizzy and her eyelids got heavy. No matter how hard she tried she couldn't keep her eyes open. Suddenly she started to feel very light as if she was floating in the air. The feeling was wonderful.
