Asking for help

Ava came to the historian and the maid directly brought her to Jones's luxurious living room. She noticed the interior of the room has changed since she visited last time. They have added many flowers and plants in the different parts of the lavish living room, which matched with the existing classical sandalwood furniture. The room now looks more like an ancient family living room.

"Master, Dr. Green is here." the maid said enthusiastically to Michael when they entered the room.

"Hello Dr. Green, how are you doing?" As usual, Michael greeted Ava warmly.

"Hi, Ava." Liam leaned on the sofa lazily and greeted Ava. Although he wanted to run to her side but since his father was here so he couldn't be so enthusiastic.

"Hello Mr. Jones, Hello Liam. How are you doing?" Ava greeted Michael and Liam politely. She was surprised to see Liam here at this hour, shouldn't he be at the office right now.

"Doctor Green, you look beautiful as usual," Michael said.

Ava knew why Michael was flattering her but she ignored him and said, "Thank you, Mr. Jones. Let me check your heart condition." Ava quickly took out her stethoscope and started to check him. She just wanted to finish quickly and leave this place.

After the routine checkup Ava said with a smile as she packed her stuff: "Mr. Jones, everything looks normal. Your living room looks very colorful today I can see you put some flowers in here. Are you into plants and flowers these days?"

"Actually I've always liked them, just never had any time to take care of it. Since I have retired now I decided to spend some time on my hobby." Michael said with a kind smile. His every act was kind and generous like a friendly uncle.

"That's a very good hobby, Mr. Jones. But I'd like to remind you that you'd better not grow the fragrant flowers in here. The dust from those flowers may impact your heart." Ava said with a serious face.

"OK, I will listen to you and ask the gardener to move those flowers to the yard. Thank you, Dr. Green."

Ava smiled and turned her attention toward Liam. "Liam, can I talk to you for a minute?"

"Sure. Come with me." Liam said without any hesitation and got up from the sofa. He was very happy that Ava took the initiative to talk to him, usually, the women run in the other direction whenever she sees him.

Michael was a bit surprised to see Ava calling Liam so intimately and asking to talk to him alone. However he didn't say anything, he just smiled and thought, looks like Liam made good progress to get close to Ava. Now he was very confident that his son will make his dream come true very soon.

Liam took Ava into his bedroom, then closed the door gently. He said politely, "Ava, sit wherever you want."

However Ava didn't sit, she was here for a reason, although it was a coincidence that she met him here today but he was her patient too so she needed to check on him. "Are you taking the medicine I prescribed you?" Ava asked looking at Liam seriously, she didn't want to see Liam die at such young age.

"Yes, I am," Liam said as his mouth twitched, he hated to take his medicines, but he was taking them just for her.

"Show it to me," Ava said narrowing her eyes.

Liam stared at Ava helplessly then without any word he went to his bedside table and took out the medicine box for Ava and handed it to her.

Ava took out the medicine and checked them carefully, she was relieved to see that Liam was telling the truth, he has been taking the medicine. She gave him the box back.

Liam put the box inside his drawer and sat down on his bed leisurely, then he looked at Ava and said with a mischievous smile on his face, "Doctor Green, are you worried about me?"

"Of course I am worried about you, you're my patient. It's normal to follow up on your condition, don't you think?" Ava said with a straight face.

"Oh, it's a pity. I thought Doctor Green likes me, you know I like you very much." Liam said with a smile on his face as he looked directly into her eyes.

"Will you please stop it, Liam!" Ava said a bit annoyed. She knew he was a womanizer how could she believe his words, besides he was Oliver's cousin, she didn't want to hear this from him.

"What? Do you think I am lying to you?" Liam asked seriously, the smile on his face was gone now and there was a tension in the air.

"Does it matter? I love someone else." Ava said hesitating a little.

"I know. It's Oliver." Liam smiled leisurely as if he knew Ava well.

Ava neither denied it nor she admitted it. She and Oliver were over and she wanted him to fade away from her life but the way he keeps coming for Sam she was worried about what he will do next. She knew from the beginning of their relationship that Oliver would never let her go unless he wanted to and after seeing him today she knew he wasn't done with her.

Suddenly Ava had a thought in her mind, Oliver hated Liam but they were cousins, could she ask for his help to stop Oliver? Ava looked at Liam and wondered if she asked for his help, would he agree to her or not. But how would she tell him that?

Liam was staring at Ava and seeing her looking at him in a trance he could tell she wanted to ask him for something but she was hesitating. Liam put on a warm smile on his face and said gently, "You don't have to hesitate so much Ava, say it, what do you want?"

Ava felt a bit embarrassed then she said slowly, "Actually Liam, Oliver, and me, we broke up. But he has been after one of my friends, he even beat him up yesterday. So I was wondering if you could help me somehow to stop him."

Liam looked at Ava shocked at first. Then slowly a charming smile showed up on his handsome face as his eyes run on Ava's beautiful face, he said, "You two broke up? Really? You dumped him?"

"Yes."

"But Why?" Liam was very interested to know how the arrogant Oliver got dumped. This was huge Oliver Knight getting dumped by Ava Green. He never thought he would be able to witness such a say.

Ava wanted to roll her eyes at him at that moment and cursed herself for not finding a better option to stop Oliver. Ava said a little annoyed, "That's not important. So are you going to help me or not?"

Liam looked at Ava carefully, she didn't look like she just broke up with Oliver, usually, when a women break up with him, they would be all grief-stricken and desperate, but Ava was very calm and strong. He thought this woman was really different.
