Green Villa.
After work, Ava accompanied Sam in the hospital until 9:00 p.m. then went home. She parked her car in the underground parking and thought of taking a walk on the street. She didn't want to go home, although she had everyone at home but she still felt very lonely. She was walking along the side of the street, the wind was a bit cold because of the typhoon she felt comfortable with.
Ava looked up in the dark sky and felt sad, the Mid-Autumn Festival is coming, when people were going to reunite with their loved ones, she had to be apart from the love of her life. Some people say, there were two kinds of happiness in love, one type was staying happy with their loved ones and the other was staying far away from their loved ones and be happy to know they were happy in their own life. Perhaps she will have to find her happiness by staying far away from Oliver.
Ava stood under the street lamp for a long time, lost in deep thought. She suddenly noticed someone was standing not far from her. Ava stared at the figure trying to understand what was he doing, but he was just standing there quietly and looking in her way. Ava couldn't see his face it was too dark in there, she felt scared thinking it was some psychopath, after all, it's late. She quickly turned and started to walk toward her house.
Seeing Ava moving fast, the man rushed toward her, and before she could react he held her from behind.
Ava was so shocked, she opened her mouth to scream but then felt the familiar embrace, she was relieved. It's Oliver. He didn't say anything just held her tightly and buried his head on the crook of her neck. Ava's nose tuned sour and tears rushed through her eyes.
After what felt like a long time Oliver said in a low voice, "Let me hold you for a while, and then I will never pester you again."
Oliver has been working late, when he got off work, he went to his villa tiredly. But seeing the empty villa he felt suffocated. Now that he was used to having Ava around the empty house was screaming at him. He got out and started to drive around the city aimlessly, all of a sudden he realized he was in Ava's house community. He was about to turn the car when he saw a small figure was standing under the streetlamp. The light fell on her face which looked sad and lonely. He couldn't help but stop the car and stand in the darkness to watch her.
Listening to Oliver, Ava's heart broke all over again and more tears started to flow from her eyes.
Oliver felt that Ava was sobbing, he released her and turned her body. Ava immediately lowered her head to hide her tears. Oliver felt pain in his heart, he could easily see that she was not happy to be apart from him then why she was insisting on it? Something is not right, she is hiding something from him but if she doesn't tell him how he was going to help her?
"Av's baby, do you have any difficulties? Please tell me I can help you. Let's work it out together." Oliver said softly.
Ava's whole body stiffened, she quickly shook her head and said in a hoarse but firm voice, "No I don't have any problem."
"I don't believe you," Oliver said and took Ava in his arms and tightened them as if he was afraid she will disappear any moment.
"It's true Oliver, whether you believe it or not it's up to you but I still would like us to part ways peacefully. Maybe... In some years, if we come across each other we can still greet each other like friends." Ava's eyes were full of tears.
She felt so miserable that she found it hard to even breathe. She couldn't control her emotion but she knew one thing that she has to stay strong otherwise, he will be hurt. And Ava would rather take a thousand bullets in her heart than hurt Oliver.
"I don't want to. I love you and I know you love me too then why you insist on breaking up?" Oliver obviously didn't believe Ava's words. He shook his head in defiance and almost begged to her.
Seeing Oliver like that her heart shook violently. Ava knew Oliver's character, he was too proud to lower himself in front of anyone. He would take what he wanted but never beg anyone however, here he stood pleading to her not to break up. She wanted to die for making the man as miserable as she was.
"Oliver, maybe that's the way life works. Please don't make it more difficult for me. Just forget that you ever met me." Ava smiled bitterly.
"Baby, I know what kind of person you are. Whatever that is troubling you just tell me. I promise I will take care of it but please baby come back to me." Oliver let go of Ava and looked her in the eye. He could clearly see all the emotion in her eyes. At this point, he was confident something has happened to Ava which was forcing her to break up with him.
Ava closed her eyes, she needed to get away from him otherwise he will break her and she will tell him everything. She can't do that she can't see the disappointed look in his eyes. Ava composed herself and opened her eyes and when she looked at Oliver, her eyes were cold.
"Good night, Oliver."
Ava didn't give Oliver any chance to say anything else she turned and run away from there. She knew he would follow her so before she entered the main gate of her house without turning back she said coldly, "Please don't come here again."
Oliver indeed was behind her, when he heard her cold voice he stiffened and clenched his fist. He stared at her leaving back until she disappeared inside the house then he saw the light of her room turned on. He just stood there. In the dim moonlight, his shadow looked really lonely at that moment. Oliver stood downstairs in front of Ava's house till dawn, always looking up at her room.
In Ava's room, she sat beside the window hugging her body and looking at Oliver through the gap of the curtain. She wanted to call him and tell him to go home and rest but she was afraid her soft heart will lead to a disaster. She kept staring at him and let the tears fall. When Oliver left, it was four o'clock in the morning, Ava had been sitting on the floor the whole night. She looked like a mess, her eyes were red and swollen but her tears have finally stopped, her hairs were all messy. She looked like a crazy woman who has lost her soul.
Oliver got back to his car and started the engine. Sitting in the car he looked up in the sky, it was dawn so the sky was gradually brightening up, he looked at the stars that looked even brighter now than they did in the night sky. Suddenly he remembered Ava once asked him to see the stars with her. At that time, Oliver got really angry and told her not to mention stars to him ever. Now, Oliver regretted his every action. If he had treated her better, would she break up with him like that?
Oliver turned his head and his eyes suddenly fell on the gift bag he brought for Ava from the US. He wanted to give her the brooch when he came to Ava's parents to pick her up. Who knew he will never have the chance to give it to her. Oliver sighed and head straight to the company, he didn't want to go home. Ava was all over his place, he couldn't take that empty house with just her memories.
