Erika's visit

Beijing Tiantan Hospital.

Ava was sitting in Sam's ward and peeling apples for him. These days, whenever she had some free time she would come to see Sam and accompany him. His family didn't know about his injury and there was no one who could look after him so Ava thought it was her responsibility.

"Sam, how are you feeling today? Does it hurt?" Ava handed the plate full of apples to Sam and asked with a smile.

"No, it doesn't hurt. It's just skin injury, I can take it." Sam said to Ava and smiled back at her.

"Actually I feel responsible that it's because of me, you were beaten like this," Ava said with a guilty face.

"Ava, I've said many times in these two days that it had nothing to do with you. If you say that one more time I'll really get angry with you." Sam warned Ava.

Ava smiled and said, "Fine I won't say it again."

Samuel took a slice of apple and said with a smile, "It's almost like the time when you said, you'll kiss me and did not dare!"

"Well, you threatened me," Ava mumbled pretending to be angry.

"Oh, you two are so adorable, even your flirting is so real just like childhood sweethearts." Suddenly a familiar voice came from the door.

Ava and Samuel turn their heads at the same time and looked at the door seeing Erika standing there with an angry face and a mocking smile.

The last time Erika came to talk to Sam at the hospital, he was unconscious so she didn't get to talk to him. Later she had a fight with Ava and didn't feel like staying in the hospital so she left. Today she decided to drop by to check on Samuel, but the moment she entered his ward, she heard him openly flirting with Ava and she felt her blood was boiling.

Ava clearly heard the sarcasm in Erika's words but she didn't react, in her mind, she was clear about her and Sam's relation and she didn't want to keep explaining it to people. If anyone wanted to believe a lie that was their problem not her.

"Miss Green, if you don't mind can I talk to Sam in private please?" Erika walked inside the ward elegantly and said to Ava coldly.

"Sam, I'll be outside," Ava said and stood up.

"No, it's late, you should go home. You look really tired today." Although Sam loved Ava's company but he didn't want her to be tired because of him. The doctors already work very hard all day. So he was worried about her.

Erika frowned, she didn't miss the tender look on Sam's eyes for Ava. She must have been blind before not to see such obvious love.

"OK, then call me if you need anything." Ava picked up her bag and walked outside.

"Will do," Sam said with an affectionate smile.

Erika didn't even want to look at Ava, in her eyes Ava was worse than Sam. She has been deceiving her and Oliver, pretending to be innocent while she was secretly having relation with Sam. Erika was disgusted with Ava.

"It's really you who are in love with her or you both decided to deceive people together?" After Ava left, Erika looked at Sam indifferently and asked slowly.

"Rika, don't satirize our relation like this. Ava and I have known each other for years and we are good friends. Don't blame her for hiding it from you." Samuel sighed helplessly and said calmly.

"Sam please stop defending her, will you? Can't you see what kind of person she is? She has been deceiving me and Oliver all this time, I am sure one day she will do the same to you." Erika got so excited that she started to shout.

She hated Ava, she has never been deceived like that before and felt Ava had slapped her hard in the face. Erika was a proud woman and she hardly opens up her heart to people but her feeling toward Ava was sincere so her betrayal really hurt her badly.

"Erika please stop right there. She is not that kind of person so don't say such things about her." Sam was really annoyed hearing Erika.

"Wow, you really love her that much? Anyway, don't you think you should give me an explanation?" Erika stared at Sam with hatred in her eyes.

Sam hesitated then said, "Erika I don't know how to explain it to you. Ava and me, we are friends since childhood. When she first found out that you were interested in me, she came to see me and asked me to give you a chance." Sam recalled the time when he almost had another fight with Ava because of this.

"To give me a chance? What I am, a charity case to you two? Sam whatever I felt for you I showed it openly and sincerely but what did you do? You pretended not to see it and you used me to get to Ava. Tell me Sam what am I in your eyes?" Erika was furious hearing what Sam said. How dare she lie to her and then beg her childhood sweetheart to give her a chance.

"Erika, calm down, it's not like that. I never had any intention to hurt you. It's true that I have always been in love with her and when I asked her out she refused me directly and as a friend she wanted me to find my own happiness. When she found out you liked me she tried to fix me with you because she thought I would be happy with you. She told me you are a very good person and wanted me to give it a try but she also warned me not to hurt you. So you cannot really blame her." Sam told her the whole truth.
