The next evening,
Ava came to Oliver's Villa as promised to give him his shirt back. When she arrived at the familiar villa, Ava felt very sad. She thought she would never come back here again, she stayed in the car for a long time hesitating to get out. This was the place she used to call home once but now she was merely a stranger here.
Ava took a deep breath and took the paper bag from the passenger's seat, the shirt was inside she had washed it herself, now the shirt only smelled like detergent. Looking at the spotless white shirt, Ava's mind went back to Oliver. He always likes to wear shirts and he looks very handsome and uptight in them, just like the prince from a fairy tale story. Before meeting Oliver, Ava thought this type of man didn't exist in real life. However, after meeting him, she started to believe in fairy tales, unfortunately, not all fairy tales have their happily ever after.
Mrs. Lee came out of the villa to throw the garbage bags. Seeing her Ava got out of the car and went to greet her.
"Mrs. Lee, how are you doing?" Ava smiled and asked softly.
"Miss Green, you are back." Mrs. Lee was surprised to see Ava, she said excitedly.
"No, I just came to return something," Ava said with a forced smile and her hold on the bag tightened a little.
Mrs. Lee looked at Ava with soft eyes and asked gently, "Miss Green did you really broke up with Mr. Knight?"
"Yes, it's over," Ava answered in a very low voice that's barely audible, as if she didn't admit it, it won't be true.
"Miss Green, I know you two are young and often end up fighting with each other but please, believe me, Mr. Knight really loves you. After you left he barely comes home and barely eats anything. He works until three or four o'clock every night in his study, he doesn't even go to his room to sleep. I can see that he is suffering. Can't you come back, Miss Green?" Mrs. Lee sighed and looked at Ava with sadness in her eyes.
Ava fell silent. Hearing all this her heart felt liked pierced by a sharp knife, she lowered her head and said softly, "Mrs. Lee, I cannot come back and I will never come here again. You must take good care of him. Even if you have to force him, make him eat and take proper rest. He will get sick if he keeps living like this."
Mrs. Lee frowned and said, "Miss Green don't you know how stubborn Mr. Knight is. You think he will listen to me? My word doesn't mean anything to him. Miss Green, please come back, he will only listen to you."
Ava sighed and shook her head, "it's not possible, Mrs. Lee. Please take good care of him."
"Miss Green I believe your happiness is in your own hands. If you have any difficulties, why don't you talk to Mr. Knight and sort things out?"
"There are no difficulties, Mrs. Lee. I just don't love him anymore." Ava said in a low voice and lowered her head. It was dark outside so the pain in her eyes couldn't be seen by anyone.
"Mrs. Lee, What are you doing here?" Oliver's stern and cold voice came from behind.
Ava was so scared that she almost jumped out. She turned and saw Oliver was standing behind her with a dark and cold face and she realized he must have heard what she just told Mrs. Lee. Although she should be relieved that he heard it but she still felt pain in her heart. Ava pursed her lips and held out the bag to Oliver.
"I have washed it. It doesn't have any smell now." Ava said in a low voice.
"Mrs. Lee, please take the shirt from Miss Green and throw it away, she made it dirty by touching it." Oliver looked at Ava indifferently and said coldly. He made no attempt to touch the shirt.
Mrs. Lee felt embarrassed. How did she get in the middle of their fight again? If she takes it and throws it, Miss Green will be hurt and if she didn't then Mr. Knight will be angry. What to do now?
Ava heard what Oliver said it stung her heart but she didn't say anything. Of course, she knew what he was trying to do but he didn't say anything wrong. She was dirty, everything she touched she would make it dirty too. Ava quietly handed the shirt to Mrs. Lee.
"What are you waiting for? Hurry and throw it away. It's all rubbish." Oliver smiled but in the darkness, it was difficult to understand what his smile meant.
Did he just say it's all rubbish! Ava was not a fool, she could tell that he was mocking her, Ava's beautiful face suddenly covered with a layer of sadness, but she still didn't say a word to him.
"Mrs. Lee, hurry up and throw it away. I'll have to go now." Ava said with a stiff smile.
Mrs. Lee looked at the two people in front of her and sighed then she walked towards the garbage bin and threw the shirt away.
Oliver turned back and took two steps then he stopped, it looked like he wanted to say something but then he changed his mind and walked inside the villa.
Ava stood there, her heart was tangled. She stared at Oliver leaving back and said in her heart, 'Oliver, I'm really sorry, please forgive me but I have to bear with what I have done. You will be happier without me, and one day you will probably forgive me and forget me.
Ava walked towards her car slowly, the distance was short yet it took her long to reach the car. Her feet felt heavy and her heart was full of despair. She pretended to be indifferent in front of Oliver but now she felt like she was falling apart. Finally, she reached the car and immediately got inside. Ava hugged her arm, let out the tears and let her heart calm down. She took one last look at the villa and drove away.
Inside the Villa.
"Bang!"
In the bathroom, Oliver was under the water spray he punched in the mirror hard and it shattered away everywhere but the sour feeling in his heart didn't go away. He closed his eyes painfully and said in a very low voice, 'Ava, why are you treating me like this!'
After a while, Oliver opened his eyes and looked at his hand which was still bleeding, but he didn't feel any pain. Today, Oliver was very happy, because Ava was supposed to come, he really wanted to see her. He thought Ava broke up with him because he always treated her badly. He wanted to find a way to get her back. He heard Ava's voice from inside the Villa and rushed out with a heart full of joy, intend to talk to her, coax her, but then he heard her merciless words and his heart broke into pieces.
This time when she said, she didn't love him anymore, Oliver panicked he believed her and once again treated her harshly downstairs. But now he has come down and there was a determination in his eye, he needs to find the truth. Oliver's instincts told him Ava was having some kind of difficulty, something she couldn't share with him and that's why she was bearing the pain alone. Otherwise, why would she take his shirt and make it pajama and why would she cry like that when he held her in his arm, she seems to run away whenever Oliver asks too many questions. This makes Oliver even more suspicious that she was hiding something from him.
'Ava Green no matter how many times you say that you don't love me, I don't believe it. I will find out the truth and get you back. There is no escape from me.'
Oliver got out of the shower and cleaned up his hand then he took his phone and made a call.
