Ava clenched her fist, what the hell! Liam has been introducing her to this dignified man as his girlfriend she wanted to beat him up right then and there but all she could do was swallow her anger and play along. She is definitely going to give Liam a piece of mind once they were out of here.
"Happy birthday, Grandpa." Ava wished Charles politely.
"Thank you, sweet girl." Charles didn't know Ava's name but he liked her politeness and smart appearance.
"Grandpa, I'll show her around and come back to accompany you later." Liam held Ava's waist once again and walked away from there.
Although Ava was angry at Liam, but the way he was staying side by side in this unfamiliar environment was making her feel comfortable.
Liam took Ava to the buffet table, picked up a plate, and asked with a smile, "What do you want to eat?"
"I'm not hungry."
"You haven't had anything in the evening, have something. This party will continue till very late. Later you won't get any chance to eat." Liam said gently.
"Well, then I'll have some cake." Ava was actually very hungry. After lunch, she didn't have anything to eat.
"Good, let's sit in there and eat." Liam placed two pieces of cake on the plate and handed it to Ava then pulled her toward the sofa.
Wearing high-heeled shoes Ava's feet were already aching so when Liam pulled her toward the sofa she happily sat down.
Liam sat down beside Ava and ate from the same plate. Sitting there Ava suddenly felt many eyes were on them, she was a little flustered. She asked Liam in a low voice, "Liam, how much money you owe to people outside?"
"What?" Liam was confused by Ava's question.
"Well, why all the eyes staring at us like they want to kill us?" Ava said as she put the cake in her mouth.
Liam laughed out loud then said wiggling his eyebrows, "What are you afraid of? I will protect you." Actually, Liam had already noticed those envious eyes that were sending killing stares at them but he didn't care at all about those eyes. Since they got here, all his attention was on Ava.
Suddenly, the gate of the castle opened, and there was a commotion not far away. Ava looked towards the door thinking now who was there to make these people burst with so much excitement? But the moment she saw the couple entered the ballroom her face turned pale and she suddenly had an unknown premonition in her heart.
Conner entered the ballroom wearing a black suit, holding Ella who was wearing a beige evening gown. They walked toward the old man and greeted him warmly. Shortly after another commotion was on the door and this time Oliver entered wearing a silver-grey suit holding Kiara by his side who was wearing a white sequin evening gown. She smiled gently at the crowd then went to the old man who affectionately hugged Kiara.
"God, look, it's Oliver."
"Why is Kiara with Oliver?"
"Oh come on, they've been together for a long time. What's so strange about it?"
"Can't you see they are wearing couples clothe? Isn't it obvious?"
"What a pretty man and pretty woman."
...
Ava heard all the noises in a daze, this was the last thing she wanted to see right now but what could she do. Wasn't it always supposed to be this way? Kiara said she was recognized as the daughter-in-law by the Knight's so isn't it normal for them to be together?
The appearance of Oliver and Kiara undoubtedly became the biggest focus of the dinner party. A few minutes later, Erika Arrived. Erika was wearing a pink silk cheongsam, which made her tall figure look more graceful. Her long hair was styled in beautiful curls, pinned to the side. She looked even more young and beautiful in that appearance.
The crowd started to make noise again.
"Erika looks really beautiful tonight."
"Yes, I think Erika is more beautiful than Kiara."
"Is it comparable? Erika is the favorite granddaughter of Charles Knight. "
This is when Ava reacted, Charles Knight? Granddaughter? Oh My God, was she at Charles Knight's birthday party? So the Old man Liam introduced her as his girlfriend was actually Charles Knight?
Ava instinctively looked at Oliver, only to see that Oliver's expression was, as usual, indifferent and cold. He hasn't made any special effort to dress up tonight yet he was as handsome as ever.
Oliver noticed Ava as soon as he entered the ballroom. At first, he was a little surprised, but seeing Liam beside her, Oliver understood everything. Since Liam was so eager to play games, he will play along.
"Grandpa, I wish you a happy eightieth birthday. May God always keep you this young and handsome." Kiara smiled softly and wished Charles.
"Our Kiara is really getting more and more beautiful every day. It's really good to see you two together." Elizabeth Knight came to Charles's side wearing a deep blue cheongsam, she looked noble and elegant.
"Thank you, Kiara," Charles said smiling happily.
"Grandpa, I wish you good health and a happy birthday." Oliver's always sinister eyes looked at Charles with a rare smile.
"Thank you." Charles smiled happily as he took Oliver's and Kiara's hands in his hand.
At that moment, Erika came to Charles. She looked like a cold beauty but as soon as she came to Charles's side a sweet smile showed up on her cold face showing her cute dimples.
"Grandpa, happy birthday, I wish you a long, healthy, and happy life," Erika said very lovingly.
Charles was very fond of the two children of his family, especially Erika. He took Erika's hand and clapped it in his palm. He couldn't hide his wide smile, he was very happy surrounded by all the children on this day.
