Liam looked at Ava, who was sitting on the sofa with an expressionless face. It looked like her face was covered in a layer of haze which was totally different from the nervous and shy appearance she had when she came here. To change her mood Liam said, "Let's go and dance, too."
"No." Ava got up, walked to the buffet table, picked up a glass of champagne, and gulp it in one go.
"Liam, if I'm drunk, drop me home please." Ava's eyes were full of tears but she didn't let them fall. Watching Oliver dance with another woman, she was feeling suffocated. People around her kept talking about how beautiful the couple was, how compatible and perfect they were together, those words were making her feel more sad. Ava thought she could forget Oliver but seeing him today, she knew she will never be able to let him go from her heart.
"Why are you drinking? Can it make you feel any better?" Liam frowned. He didn't like Ava looking so lost. He snatched her glass from her hand.
"No it won't but it makes me sleepy. I don't have good drinking capacity, after downing two glasses I will be drunk and I'll fall asleep and when I am asleep I won't feel anything." Ava laughed and said sadly.
"Since you are so sad, then why did you break up with him?" Liam gulped down all the champagne from Ava's glass and asks boldly.
"Sometimes in life, we have to do things, because that's the right thing to do." Ava smiled bitterly as a single tear fell from her eyes.
Ava laughed at herself and glanced at Oliver, who was dancing with Kiara not far away. There he was shining on the spotlight, exuding a noble spirit like a prince living in a castle. And here she stood like an ordinary woman there was no light around her, only darkness. No one will notice her.
"Why?" Liam asked softly, looking at Ava, he had a feeling there was a big reason behind their break up and he wanted to know it. Ava's tears were stabbing his heart and he felt a sharp pain that he had never felt before. She looks so lonely at that moment, Liam suddenly realized, he was just like her, lonely and lost.
Although Liam expected Oliver's outburst just now but when he actually humiliated Ava in front of everyone, Liam really wanted to punch Oliver in the face. He was so angry that he was clenching his fist and teeth to control himself.
"It's nothing. I need to use the restroom." Ava smiled and took back her eyes from the stage.
"I'll come with you." Liam stood up quickly. Ava looked so lost he was really worried about her.
"No, I want to be alone." Ava sniffed and looked at Liam with warm eyes.
Liam knew Ava was stubborn so he didn't insist. Liam's heart ached for her but he couldn't do anything. He couldn't comfort her in any way.
Ava stood in front of the mirror in a daze at the bathroom, staring at her delicate makeup and the noble dress. She suddenly felt a little strange, the woman looked back from the mirror had no similarity with her temperament. Ava liked a simple appearance but the woman in front of her was looking too fancy for her taste.
Ava was lost in her thoughts when she heard the sound of opening door and when she looked in the direction of the door she saw Kiara's proud face. Ava sighed, she already knew Kiara would find trouble with her any chance she got but she had no desire to quarrel with her, she decided to ignore her and leave.
Kiara saw Ava was heading toward the door, she quickly stood in front of the door and stopped her, "Ava, I have some things to clear with you, and until I do you can't go anywhere."
"If I want to go, you can't stop me." Ava looked at her impatiently, she fisted her hands, ready to fight if required.
"Is that so? Try it then." Kiara said with a wicked smile.
"What do you want to say?" Ava asked gnashing her teeth. She didn't want to give Oliver another reason to humiliate her.
"Stay away from Oliver." Kiara glared and warned fiercely.
"Don't worry about that. Anything else?"
"Leave now. You are not welcome here." Kiara felt relieved and said with a relaxed expression.
"OK, move from the door and I'll be on my way," Ava said coldly.
Kiara thought, well that was easy, she didn't even put up a fight. She moved and let Ava go. Although she didn't want to let her go that easily but they were at Knight's manor. If she embarrassed Ava here and anything goes wrong, it won't be good for her image. She has always been portraying a noble image in front of Charles and Elizabeth and she has to maintain it until she was married to Oliver.
Ava walked out of the bathroom and head toward the exit, but she lost her way into the big castle. The more she tried to find a way out the more she got lost, it was like a maze. Ava had no idea where she was, looking around she was really scared. Suddenly a strong and powerful force came from behind and grabbed her waist. In a panic, Ava was about to scream when she smelled a familiar body fragrance and she relaxed.
Oliver held Ava tightly and led her to the second floor of the castle. It was dark in the castle but as he grew up here, he was familiar with every corner of this castle.
Ava struggled and refused to follow Oliver upstairs. "Oliver, let me go."
"Ava, you know well what will happen if you struggle," Oliver warned coldly then without giving her any chance to protest, he put her on his shoulder and quickly walked to the second floor.
Ava was stunned at his swift movement and before she could react she was already on the second floor. She couldn't see anything in the dark but Oliver was walking effortlessly as if he has memorized the way.
Oliver turned the doorknob and brought Ava into a room. It was his own bedroom. In the castle, he and Erika both have their own bedrooms, although he seldom came to live here but his room has always been here like this. Olive put Ava down from his shoulder and pressed her against the door. The lights from outside were coming into the room so they could make out each other faces in the shadow. Ava looked at Oliver with fear in her eyes while Oliver looked at Ava with fierce eyes.
Oliver brought his face close to Ava then asked coldly, "Why did you wear this kind of dress?"
Ava subconsciously tried to cover her chest however Oliver held her hand tightly. He was angry and turned on both by being this close to Ava. He hasn't touched the woman for almost three weeks now and seeing her in such a sexy dress all he could think about tear her dress and take her again and again.
"Why do you care, what I wear Mr. Knight." Ava gnawed her teeth and emphasized the word "Mr. Knight".
"What? After sleeping with me for months, are you trying to pretend that you don't know me?" Oliver sneered.
Ava swallowed but didn't speak. They could vaguely see each other's expressions in the darkness.
"Didn't you dress like this just to seduce Liam? Don't worry, I'm much better than him." Oliver said with a sullen face but his voice was full of anger.
Ava was his woman, Oliver will never allow any other men to touch her, but just now downstairs, Liam deliberately hugged her intimately in front of him, and he was very angry about it. Why did she allow Liam to touch her like that, why didn't she stopped him?
