After Oliver hung up the phone, Ava was relieved. She looked at Erika and said, "Rika, your brother is coming out to take us in."
"Really, thank god." Erika breathed a sigh of relief.
Oliver came out and stood there at the door and made a gesture with his hand toward the bodyguards and they immediately opened the entrance gate for Ava and Erika. Along the way, Erika tightly held Ava's hand. The house already looked dark from outside but from inside it was even creepier like a haunted house.
Oliver knew why Ava and Erika came here today. Erika was really smart, as soon as she found out Samuel was gone she immediately connected the dot and went to look for Ava. Sometimes Oliver thinks his cousin was really a big headache for him.
Oliver led Ava and Erika into a bright room. All the lights in the room were turned on and there was a set of Sofa in the corner of the room. Although the room setup was not luxurious but it still gave away a warm feeling, not like the cold passage they just came through.
"Brother, where is Sam?" Erika asked after entering the room, she was really worried about him.
"Dead." Oliver took Ava's hand and sat down on the sofa calmly with a cold face.
"What? How can he die?" Erika said in a choked voice.
Oliver pursed his lips, and asked raising one of his eyebrows, "You care about him that much?"
"Oliver, please stop making jokes." Ava almost believed him when he said that and her face turned pale.
Erika also knew that she should hate Sam but she just couldn't, which was making her baffled about her feeling for Sam because she knew, she wasn't in love with Sam, at least not yet. Yes, she liked him very much and cared for him but it was not 'love'. Maybe the first impression Samuel left to her was unforgettable and she found it very inspiring that, she was always protective of Sam, especially when Oliver was involved.
"Did you torture him?" Erika asked almost in fear.
"Yes, so what?"
"Brother, how could you do this to him?" Erika looked at Oliver with aggrieved eyes.
Oliver stared at Erika for a while then asked, "Erika what is wrong with you? Have you lost your mind? Didn't you see what he had done to Ava? How can you expect me to stay calm after that and not kill him?"
"Brother, it's not that I don't understand what you are going through, but hurting him won't solve your problem and you know it too, then why are you being so stubborn?" Erika said stubbornly.
"Erika I think you're crazy. For an outsider, you are actually fighting with your family." Oliver said coldly, he was really annoyed by Erika's persistence about Sam.
"I am fighting for what is right," Erika said firmly.
Ava couldn't hear the brother and sister argument anymore, she felt a headache. "Alright, that's enough both of you. We are not here to fight so please can we not focus on that right now?" Both brother and sister were the same no one would give up easily on what they wanted, Ava sighed.
"Fine. Tell me, what's your plan?" Oliver looked at Ava and asked seriously.
"Let me talk to him," Ava said calmly.
When the incident happened Ava was sure it was an accident and only Sam and she were aware of it, but after seeing the photos last night Ava knew things were more complicated than that. What Oliver said last night actually made sense, maybe Sam did collaborate with Kiara to break her and Oliver apart and that's why they planned the whole thing and took the pictures for evidence. So she needed to confront Sam herself and ask about it.
"It's not necessary." Oliver coldly rejected Ava's request. He didn't want her to talk to Sam at all.
"Oh, I think it is. Trust me on this Oliver, I know Sam very well, he is very stubborn he will never say a word even if you kill him but if I ask him I believe he will tell me the truth. Besides I still believe he is a good man in his heart, he might have made a mistake but everyone makes mistakes, you do it and so do I. We should give him a chance." Ava was very clear-minded so she said every word very calmly to Oliver.
Erika silently listened to Ava and thought what Ava said was reasonable. Ava was so understanding and she would always see things from a different perspective. Probably that's why she liked her so much. Although she was angry with her when she found out Ava lied to her but she had already forgiven her for that.
Oliver was still reluctant to let Ava see Sam, but he couldn't deny what Ava said made sense. He has been torturing Sam all afternoon yet he didn't open his mouth. Maybe he will open up in front of Ava, so he agreed.
"Alright, if that's what you want," Oliver said in a cold tone but his eyes looked at Ava warmly.
