Ethan has lost his mind

Oliver hung up the phone, his face was gloomy and cold.

"Mr. Knight, we need a minimum of an hour to reach that place, it seems it's in the remote countryside at the west." Uncle Joe said after checking every possible route to reach the farm.

"We will take the helicopter and call as many people as you can." Oliver calmly gave the orders, but his face was full of killing instinct. He must rescue Ava as soon as possible.

In the abandoned factory,

The atmosphere was very depressing. Ava glared at Ethan, she couldn't understand how her mother thought Ethan was a decent guy for her to date! He is clearly evil. She wondered if she didn't go to that date, would all this happen today!

"Ethan, I never thought you could stoop so low to kidnap me to threaten Oliver. Where is your dignity?" Ava said looking at Ethan fiercely.

"Well, your dear Oliver didn't really leave me any choice. So I am doing what is necessary." Ethan squinted his eyes and said with a smile.

"But it was you who challenged Oliver and you lost the bet. Oliver played a fair game then why can't you admit defeat and let it go? For a land you are actually willing to commit such a crime, do you think you can get away with this?" Ava said sharply. She was not afraid of him at all, instead, she was actually disgusted by him.

"Ava, you don't understand the business in the mall at all. In the mall, an ethical person wouldn't be able to survive because there are many collisions. To get what you want you must be willing to do what it takes. That's the way it works there. I had the ability to kidnap you and threaten Oliver so I did it, what's wrong with that?" Ethan said with a faint smile.

Ava realized, she actually would never understand these things so it's better not to keep arguing with Ethan about this. He has completely lost his mind. He was not the Ethan she met at the Starbucks, who was sitting quietly and patiently in the coffee shop. This was completely a different person.

"You are right, I don't understand the business in the mall, but if you let me go, I will ask Oliver to give you a way to live," Ava said softly. She was sure Oliver will find her and when he did, she doesn't know if he will let Ethan live for threatening him like that.

Ethan's eyes moved slightly and he said coldly: "The Smith's and the Knight have always been getting along well, but Oliver had to force us to die. How can I swallow it? I can only fight with him, as for you unfortunately you were just a victim in our fight."

Ava shivered to hear his words, she suddenly felt Ethan was hiding a deep resentment inside his heart. These were all excuses, only a loser would push his failure to others. Ava could tell by just looking at Ethan that even after he got what he wanted he wouldn't let her go.

"Ethan, what are you planning to do?"

"I want you to die and make Oliver miserable, only then he will realize what it feels like to lose his precious thing." Ethan started to laugh crazily and his laughter echoed through the whole factory.

Mia, who has been quietly observing and listening to Ava and Ethan's conversation suddenly realized Ava's life was in danger. She immediately moved and stood in front of Ava fearlessly then said, "If you want to kill her you have to go through me first. Don't think you will get away with a murder that easily."

"Mia, are you crazy? What are you doing, move from in front of me." Ava stared at Mia dumbfounded then she started to pull her away. She was afraid Ethan will really shoot her. Ava believed Ethan when he said she will kill her and she definitely will not take the burden of her friend's death because of her.

However, Mia stood firmly in place and refused to move, she looked at Ava with red eyes and said, "Ava I let you down once, today I will pay for my sins. I have no regret. If you can please look after my parents? I will die at peace knowing they have someone like you to take care of them."

Ethan took out a gun from his pocket, and pointed it to Mia then asked with an evil smile, "If you have any last words, say it quickly. I'll give you three minutes."

"Ethan, are you crazy? What are you doing? She has nothing to do with all this. She was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Please let her go. If you want to kill me, then kill me. Don't do anything to her." Ava looked at Ethan with a pale face and started to shout.

This was the first time Ava was actually scared since she was kidnapped. Ethan was completely out of his mind and she knew he won't hesitate to kill an innocent soul. Ava felt desperate to save Mia.

"Ava you are naive if you think any of you are getting out of this place alive today. It's either you will die first or she will but you both will have the same fate eventually." Ethan said with a mocking smile.

Only then Ava realized it was never about the land or the money, Ethan just wanted to take revenge on Oliver. He was determined to make him suffer.

"Ethan, stop it, please. I know things are difficult with your business now but I remember when I met you the first time, were so gentle and patient. You are not a murderer, please don't do this." Ava said softly.

"You don't know anything. Yes, I was not such kind of person. I was sunny and optimistic but Oliver forced me to change and he forced me to do all this. Sorry Ava but I can't go back. See you in hell." Ethan pointed the gun at Ava as he gave her one last look, then he pulled the trigger.

This woman once made his heartbeat go wild, but he knew he can never have her. Since he can't have her he won't let any other men have her either and especially not Oliver. Ethan knew well, Smith group was hopeless. Even if Oliver gave him the land and the money today he won't let them survive. He will find another way to destroy them.

Ava stood there waiting for her fate but the moment she heard the sound of Ethan's gun she pushed Mia aside and fell on the ground into a safe distance.

Ethan's cold eyes darkened, he never thought Ava would be so smart and fearless to react like this when a gun was pointed at her. But how long she can dodge the bullets? He pointed the gun again at Ava but suddenly stopped when he heard noises coming from outside.
