After long lovemaking, Ava felt exhausted so Oliver filled up the bathtub with warm water and they both sat on the tub enjoying the bath in each other's arms. After they were done Oliver helped Ava dry her body then he tucked her on the bed naked.
"Olive, get me a pajama please," Ava said from under the quilt.
"How about my shirt?" Oliver said with a smirk.
Ava blushed and said softly, "Ok."
Actually, Oliver wanted to hold her naked in his arm and fall asleep, it's sexy. However, he was also afraid that Ava will catch a cold, her immune system was very weak so when Ava asked for a pajama he didn't object. He got one of his white shirts and put it on her himself. He liked to do these small and simple things for Ava.
"Oliver, tell me a bedtime story." Ava held Oliver's waist and said yawning.
"OK." Oliver smiled faintly, then turned off the lamp on the bedside table and started a story about an ancient Greek god.
Ava didn't know when she fell asleep. She was woken up by Oliver's phone ringtone. Annoyed Ava turned on the lamp and saw Oliver was not there but his phone was ringing on the bedside table. Ava looked at the clock, it was after midnight. She wondered who would call Oliver at this hour. Out of curiosity she reached out and saw it was an unknown number. Since it kept ringing she decided to pick it up.
"Hello."
However, she immediately heard the busy tone. Ava thought it must be some prank call, she put down the phone and went back to her side. As soon as she lied down Oliver's phone started to ring again. Ava was now getting angry, she sat up on the bed and checked Oliver's phone it was the same number so she picked up the call again but before she could even utter a word, a soft female voice said, "Oliver, I'm back."
Ava immediately got wide awake, she didn't know why but she felt the voice was very familiar. With an uncomfortable heart, Ava asked slowly, "Who is this?" But the person on the other end disconnected the call immediately.
Oliver was on the balcony, he saw the light coming from the bedroom he came into the room holding another phone in his hand. He looked at Ava and saw she was looking at his phone in a daze, he frowned and asked, "Baby, what are you doing? Why are you awake?"
Ava put down the phone on the table and said angrily, "Well, I was sleeping but your phone kept ringing and it woke me up."
"What? Who called?" Oliver saw Ava's angry expression he asked worriedly.
"I don't know. It was a woman and she only said 'Oliver, I'm back.' When I asked who she was she disconnected the call. It must be one of your girlfriends." Ava snorted coldly and glared at him. Jealousy was very obvious in her tone.
"What are you talking about, aren't you the only girlfriend I have? My one and only!" Oliver saw Ava was jealous, he smiled and took her in his arm, then started to coax her.
"Don't lie! Why would someone call you in the middle of the night if she didn't know you? You must be seeing someone behind my back." Ava pushed Oliver and said angrily.
Oliver felt helpless, he said innocently, "Baby, I swear I really don't know who called."
"Is that so? This is your personal number, didn't you say, very few people knew this number? If you didn't give her this number how did she call you?" Ava asked suspiciously.
Oliver said with a warm smile: "Then, who do you think she is?"
"How do I know?" Ava pouted.
"Ava, I swear, I am not seeing anyone. There is no one but you in my life." Oliver's eyes were still very gentle.
"OK, if that's true then you don't mind calling her back and ask her who she is, right? Call her and put it in loudspeaker." Usually, Ava was not this much unreasonable, she was well aware that Olive had many admirers and it's normal for some woman to find his number and call him but for some reason, the woman's voice on the phone was making her very uncomfortable.
"OK," Oliver said without any hesitation. He had nothing to hide anyway so he happily agreed to Ava. He also wanted to know, who was this woman and why did she call in the middle of the night causing Ava to lose her temper like that. His love was unhappy how could he be happy!
Oliver took his phone from the bedside table and from the call list he made the call to that unknown number. However, they were greeted by a familiar voice: 'Sorry, the number you have dialed is not reachable at this moment, please call again later..."
Switched off.
Oliver shrugged and hung up the phone. He took Ava in his arm and lie down then said happily, "See, I didn't lie to you. This must be some prank call. But for the peace of your mind, I'll ask Uncle Joe to check who is registered in that number. OK!" He was actually very happy seeing Ava jealous like that, she hardly gets jealous whenever Oliver mentioned any woman so he loved it. He thought she looked really cute when she was throwing tantrum over the prank call.
Lying in Oliver's strong chest and listening to his heartbeat, Ava calmed down and all her anger and doubt dissipate. Oliver didn't hesitate even for a second before calling the woman so Ava was sure he was not lying to her. She held him and said softly, "Forget it, it must be a prank call. After all, you are so handsome, you have a lot of admirers."
Oliver laughed and put his hand inside the shirt Ava was wearing, he frowned when he felt her body was cold as ice. He wrapped his hand around her bringing her closer to his body then asked, "Why is your body so cold?"
"I don't know maybe I was woken up by the phone call all of a sudden and then couldn't find you here so I got a little scared. My body gets cold when I am nervous or scared." Ava said softly.
"Silly woman, I just went to the balcony to take a call. I didn't want to disturb you." Oliver said with a smile.
"It's so late, who called?"
"Uncle Joe, it's some business matter nothing serious. Don't worry. Come on now go back to sleep." Oliver said and reached out to the lamp to turn it off.
"OK," Ava said lightly, but she didn't believe what Oliver said. Uncle Joe called so late, this must be something important but since Oliver didn't want to say she also didn't want to ask. She just believed whatever it was Oliver was capable enough to handle it so she didn't need to worry about it.
