Arvin's Confession

Beijing No. 4 High School

The school anniversary program was still in full swing. They had participated in many activities and played many games all day long and everyone was enjoying it very much and having a very good time.

Arvin spent the whole day with some of his old classmates and participated in a few activities. He knew Oliver and Ava has gone home when he couldn't find them at the school premises but he didn't leave. He was looking for a chance to talk to Erika alone. He still hasn't had the courage to find her and confess his feelings, so when he heard Erika will be here today he decided to talk to her here.

It was late afternoon and Erika was sitting in a quiet corner watching her classmates playing games and chatting, she didn't participate. She was bored, tired, and sleepy. Sam was busy with his student so he didn't accompany Erika.

Arvin looked around and saw Erika sitting in a corner drowsily, and beside her, few male students were checking her out. She was wearing a light pink silk shirt with a denim A-line short skirt, she didn't even wear any heavy makeup yet she was looking beautiful. Arvin got angry, seeing those boys staring at her beautiful legs. He quickly walked to Erika.

Those boys saw Arvin coming toward them they quickly walked away from there. In high school, Arvin was a famous bully, compared with Oliver, his temper was a little fiery. He liked to solve things with his fist rather than words therefore those who knew him were very scared of him and usually avoided any trouble with him.

Erika was staring in front of her she didn't notice Arvin until she felt his jacket on her lap covering her legs. She looked up and saw Arvin was standing there looking at her with an expressionless face.

Erika's eyes widen for a second and all her drowsiness was gone. She suddenly recalled Arvin's interview at the square and felt a bit embarrassed. It's been a long time since she met him. She didn't know why but she was feeling a bit awkward. Erika grabbed the jacket on her body tightly and was about to thank Arvin.

However, Before she did, Arvin stopped her and said with a smile: "Rika, if you want to thank me then it's really not necessary. We are not strangers to be so formal with each other."

Erika didn't say anything, yes they were not strangers, they used to know every little thing about each other, yet today they were in front of each other like a stranger.

Seeing Erika was silent Arvin felt bitter in his heart. Did he missed every chance with her, he looked at Erika and said sadly, "I know, you don't want to see me."

Erika felt embarrassed realizing she was acting unusual in front of Arvin. She smiled faintly and said softly, "What are you talking about, Arvin? We are friends."

"Come with me, I need to talk to you" Arvin suddenly held Erika's hand and said in a domineering tone.

Erika was hesitating whether to refuse him, but Arvin didn't give her any chance he just dragged her away and led her to a secluded pavilion in the school garden.

Arvin was walking very fast to keep up with him Erika almost had to run, she was panting when they reached the pavilion. She looked at Arvin a bit puzzled but before she could ask anything Arvin said in a very serious tone, "Rika, you were right. I used to be too timid and too naive, I never had the courage to ask you out directly. However now, I want to take the first step and make things right. I want to tell you how I really feel for you. I don't want to regret my whole life by being confused and coward. So here is it, Rika, I have always been in love with you, although I didn't say it out loud, but my feelings have always been the same for you since we were in high school. I don't want you to answer me right away, all I want is for you to think about it. No matter how long it takes I am willing to wait for you."

Erika stared at Arvin for a while unable to think what to say, she knew how much courage he had to muster to say all this to her today. He must have practiced it a thousand times in front of the mirror before confessing it in front of her. Erika's heart was moved but she still said stubbornly, "Arvin, I admit that when we were at school I was really in love with you but that is all gone now."

She cannot forgive Arvin for getting engaged to Jessica, even though she knew he broke the engagement because of her but that even made it more clear that, how indecisive Arvin's nature actually was. Erika couldn't live her whole life with someone who was not mentally stable. That was the reason she chose Sam.
