Emily Luis

Oliver held Ava and sat down on the sofa. Ava looked at Oliver and seeing his happy face she almost didn't want to tell him about the complication but she knew she couldn't hide it from him. He is the father of the child, he deserved to know it. Besides it was her fault, she took those pills. So she must tell him everything, suddenly Ava became very nervous, she turned to Oliver and said in a hesitant voice, "Oliver, I need to tell you something."

"What is it, baby?"

"The doctor said that as I took a lot of contraceptive pills, there is a possibility for the child to be born deformed. She suggested that I terminate the pregnancy. She also said..." Ava stopped seeing Oliver's face was getting darker.

"She said what?"

"She said even if the child is born alright, he might have health problems throughout his life," Ava said in a low voice. The pain and guilt were clear in her eyes.

"Goddamn pill," Oliver swore in a low voice and held his head with his hands.

"But I don't want to give up the child. I want to give birth to him. I believe our children will not be deformed, he will be perfectly healthy and happy." Ava said firmly.

Seeing Ava so persistent Oliver didn't want to force her, besides he also believed that their child will be healthy and safe. This was their first child and he had Knight Family's gene inside him so nothing bad can happen to him. But now he was worried about Ava's work. Although he was new to all this and had no idea what precaution she needed to take during the pregnancy but he knew she couldn't work like she used to.

"So when are you going to resign from your job?" Oliver took the chance and asked solemnly.

Ava knew Oliver would bring up her job, he has been asking her to resign for a while now but she still didn't want to quit her job, so she said softly, "It's still early pregnancy I want to continue for a while."

"Ava, you can't take those pressures anymore, you understand that right? You need to take care of yourself and the baby. You need to stay home and rest. That's what a pregnant woman does. Besides, it's not like you have to earn money to support your family. I can support both you and the baby. Then why do you have to continue work?"

"I know Oliver, it's not about earning money, I just can't sit idle, what will I do all day at home. I will go crazy if I have nothing to do. Please try to understand, it's just a few more months then I will resign. I promise."

"You are such a workaholic Ava. Fine! I will let you work for now but after five month's pregnancy you will have to leave the job and start resting." Oliver said with a serious face.

Ava knew she couldn't win the argument this time, so she gritted her teeth and said, "Alright, five months."

Oliver breathed a sigh of relief. Finally, she agreed to leave the job. He has been trying for months to let her quit her job but she has been stubborn about it, however, this little fellow did it in just weeks. Looks like he found a way to control her. Unconsciously a smile appeared on his handsome face at that thought.

The next day Knight International.

The HR Manager Dale Hiller came to Oliver with the new recruitment reports and the newly hired employees' Resumes. Oliver didn't attend the recruitment interview this year so he hasn't seen the CV of the new employees of the company yet. When it comes to recruitment, Knight International's requirement was very high. They didn't just hire any fresh graduates. To join Knight International one must have to be excellent at everything.

Oliver took the files from Mr. Hiller and asked, "Was there anyone outstanding in this year's recruitment?"

"There were a few but with one woman I was very impressed. She was not only young and professional but also, she had excellent communication skills, she is proficient in all kinds of music, language, chess, calligraphy, and painting. I think she would be an asset to this company." Mr. Hiller said with a proud smile.

"Really? A woman could catch your eyes, that's interesting" Oliver joked.

"CEO Knight, what do you mean by that? I may have conflicts with some of the women at the company but I am telling you she is really good. I have great hope for her."

"What's her name?" Oliver asked flipping through the CV. He also wanted to see what kind of woman was that excellent to catch Dale's eyes.

"Emily Luis."

Oliver flipped through the papers and finally found the name, Emily Luis. The writing on the cover page was beautiful and pleasing to the eye, he was instantly impressed. Oliver opened the CV and seeing the picture of the woman he froze in place.
